I look at it as a course correction. We were another kick the can big, spend off-season away from becoming the Saints and having -$70M of cap space in 24'. Or perpetually being in the hole and not being able to really have a load up yr.I hear ya, man. It always amazes me how often we humans can get into unnecessary conflict because in our heads we define certain words in different ways. MJD might define "rebuild" in one way, and you might define "rebuild" a second way, and I might define "rebuild" in yet a third way. So oftentimes it's not that one person is "right" and another person is "wrong", it's just that we have different emotional attachments to the meanings of specific words. "Rebuild" is a word that can have a variety of different meanings to different people.
All I know is... the optimistic side of me hopes that 2023 will be a year when the Rams address their cap issues in order to prepare for another Lombardi run in 2024 with AD, MS, and CK leading the way.
The pessimistic side of me worries that the overhaul the Rams are doing is so drastic that it will take multiple years for us to recover.
So when Snead says "remodel", does he mean it's a "one year thing" or a "multiple year thing"? I guess we'll just have to wait and find out.
McSnead knows that AD and MS are nearing the very end of their careers. My GUESS is that they want to do everything in their power to maximize the chance those 2 can have a legit chance to win it all again as soon as 2024, before they retire. All we can do as fans is wait to see how it all plays out.
This corrects that direction. They will have back to back drafts when they should bring in 20 plus draft picks and signicant cap room in 24' & 25'.
That's when they can make another run. Now the problem is the QB is 35 and who really knows how healthy he is or will be in 2 or 3 yrs?
So the 2nd phase of this plan is identifying a future QB...whether it be via draft or in FA down the road in 24' or 25' when a vet comes free in the annual QB FA derby that often occurs.
Still think they can get things going this yr and win 10 games for a WC, but if Stafford stays healthy for 24' then next yr could be promising in a weak NFC.
