Which QB should the Rams draft in the 1st Round next year?

While true, there is also the perils of staying and having draft stock drop like a stone. Look at Allar and Beck. Many thought they could have been first rounders, now forget it. Look at guys like Nussmier, Klubnik and Weigman who were "next year's draft crop" guys who are now mid to late picks (if at all)
There's a lot to be said about who the competition is and how that effects draft slot. And of course with Jaxson Dart balling out teams that need QB are apt to take one
NIL money is great but so can be the risk that comes with it
I think he is referring to the guys who have fewer than 15 or 20 career starts. That's my thinking as well. I get it that their stock could drop, but their longterm staying power in the league could suffer if not ready and they and up in a bad spot with little experience.

McShay is big on a stat where college QBs with greater than 30 starts, do much better than those with less. He acknowledges there are exceptions, but the data shows those QBs have a better chance for much longer careers with more succes.

Los Angeles Dodgers 2025

Maybe Yama can pitch games 6 and 7 and throw shutouts both games and the dodger offense will only have to score one run each game... lol...

The Dodgers look like that 10 game losing streak in late August where they couldn't beat two last place teams....

We got some older guys on the team and they may be gassed. Hopefully the Blue Jays have a mental break down on Friday and Yamamoto can throw a shut out.

Surgery Today

After a nerve block, it is indeed awful that your leg is numb. I experienced the same feeling after my ankle surgery, and they told me it would help with pain, but the lack of control and not being able to move my toes made me a little batty. It was numb for 18-24 hours, depending on your own body, and then the tingling began. Once the tingling starts, you can tell it is wearing off. If you offer someone the option again, it is fine to simply state you would prefer not to have the block, and just experience pain even. Everyone has his/her own response to pain, and I would also say one usually wants autonomy over his/her body and the paralysis is frustrating.

LEGEND Rate the Last Film You Saw

A house of dynamite

I don’t really know what to say here.
Agreed.
I usually enjoy Bigelow's movies....what was your basic take on it?
How do I say this....

It reminds me of the old joke. How do you keep an idiot in suspense?

I'll tell you later.....

Or in this case, not at all.

LEGEND My Dog ROCKS!

I found that to be heartwarming. Releasing Roxy was an act of love, not a sign of weakness. Fourteen years is a lifetime of love and loyal companionship that you can cherish forever. I have had a similar situation in my life, and it certainly alters the pattern of your days for a while. It hurts, because they are family. They were steadfast and unwavering. You offered her all of the comforts, safety, and peace we can hope for at the end - and it is a dogs wish! Thank you for sharing your story regarding Roxy - it reminds us all to hold our dogs close while we can.

2025 Atlanta Falcons Watch Thread (Draft Pick)

If Stafford is playing again, do the Rams again swap for a future #1?

The Rams have to be prepared for his retirement. They also need to have him play as long as possible.
If the Rams aren't going QB in round 1, I can see a trade down with the Atlanta pick to get a later 1st and a future #1. It all depends on how high that pick ends up being.

For example, if the pick was #12, that equates to #21 + future 1st if a team is looking to move up for a blue chip difference maker.

OFFICIAL 2025 NFL News: Trades, cuts, free agency, and more

WTF. Philly just drafted 2 fucking corners in the first and second (?) rounds last year. Are they sucking or injured or what
They are both terrific young DBs but beyond those two, Philadelphia doesn't have much at Cornerback.

Quinyon Mitchell is one of the best young cornerbacks in the NFL; and, pretty soon, the word "young" will be removed from that statement. Cooper DeJean was one of the stars in the Super Bowl, and has generally filled a versatile Nickel-back role (not unlike how the Rams use Quentin Lake).

After those two, Philadelphia needs some help. Veteran Adoree' Jackson was the starter opposite Mitchell but was taking a beating, and is currently out with a concussion. Kelee Ringo was well regarded coming-out of Georgia but hasn't shown much.

Book recommendations

How about a podcast recommendation instead. I've been reading some history these last few years but I was turned onto by listening to Dan Carlin Hardcore History podcasts.

https://www.dancarlin.com/hardcore-history-series/

Truly great stuff. Dan has amazing way of relating history that really gives you the full flavor of the times. His older stuff is not available on the website for free, but is available to purchase for a few bucks. He did a 4 or 5 part series on Rome that must be 20 hours worth of podcast. Then another 3 on the Punic wars that was probably another 10 hours.

The ones currently on the website are 6 podcasts on WWI which are amazing and three parts on the Persian empire. Plus a few others.

I am a huge Dan Carlin fan. Huge.
I have a couple hundred audiobooks downloaded, over 90% is history or biography. And every HH episode. I travel a lot for work, and after working all day in a loud music environment, I need something more chill to listen to but I still need it to be compelling and engaging. When I can get all that and come away more knowledgeable while I'm at it? I'm in!

The most dominant athlete in the world

I think this might have to be re-named "The Shohei Ohtani" thread....
This guy is just doing shit that's unimaginable
9 times on base yesterday? Good grief

Easily. Even Robin Williams might be impressed with Ohtani. He's doing things at a level that hasn't been seen since Babe Ruth played, possibly exceeding that, considering his overall athletic profile (power, speed, average, and oh, yeah, he pitches better than most pitchers, too).

M-I-Z! F - K - U!

That was quite the double whammy. Awful fourth down call that resulted in your QB being out for the year. Should have just trusted Ahmad Hardy to get the yard.

Agreed. You've ridden Hardy at the start of the year, he performs at a Heisman level, and then you suddenly stop what's working. It boggles my fucking mind that they have arguably one of the top five running backs in the nation and don't use him on fourth and one near the goalline.

I thought your true freshman played very well considering the circumstances. The defense played well too with all the Vandy hype. It sucks to lose your starting QB, IMO, Missouri wins if that does not happen.

Zollers is technically our third-string quarterback; he only became the backup after Sam Horn went down in the first game (along with our starting kicker). Pribula was honestly playing like shit for the vast majority of the season (threw so many awful picks), but that doesn't mean that you throw a true freshman to the wolves. And Zollers had injury concerns in his senior year in high school, so that makes it doubly-scary.
