As for Reeder, I think Rams coaches (McVay) is a stickler for players doing what they are supposed to do schematically. Every year we bring in a ton of rookies who probably look terrible in camp because they're rookies and Reeder just wins by default. I do feel very fortunate that we finally brought in a veteran in Landman who should keep Reeder on the bench and STs. Add in Dolac and Speights being udfa steals and I'll keep a positive attitude for one more year. Please god let people stay healthy.

Dolac simply out played Paul.
Yeah but keeping Reeder - eww

I have stated that at least Reeder could rush the passer well but last year he couldn't even do that.

When he and Rozeboom were ILB last year - we had by far the worst sets of ILB that ever started in the history of the game - they were that terrible.

Once Speights started, Rozeboom game went up quite a bit and I blame Reeder for Rozebooms poor play by positioning him badly and not seeing how the play was developing. Rozeboom needed help knowing which gap to fill and Speights did a hell of a job being in the right spot so that Rozeboom could play off his placement.

Funny how the unofficial depth chart on Rams.com still has Keir Thomas listed.

Everything else is up to date.

100% agreed. Reeder must have some other type of value, maybe on STs?
It was night & day when Reeder was out, and the combo of Speights & Rozeboom played. It should've showed our FO something--and judging by the way they brought in Landman & Paul & Dolac to compete, they saw they problem & at least tried to address it.
We've now got some great options with Landman, Speights, & Dolac. Here's hoping Landman wears the green dot.

So who were surprises who made the team... can't think of who may have made it who was not expected to.

Keeping 4 TE's, wow
3 RB's, hopefully Schrader can go on the PS
If the rumor of us using more 12 personnel is true that's not a big surprise. Parkinson being on a contract that makes it hard to move off of him for one more year probably helps too. Agreed with Schrader. He showed he belongs.

Annual reminder that a) the coaching staff and front office see WAY MORE of these guys than we do and b) they've earned the benefit of the doubt at this time.

Plenty other FOs wouldn't cut bait with a 5th rounder from this year even if they knew they'd made a mistake. I personally value a group who are prepared to recognise a mistake and correct it.

Wishing those who were cut all the best and congrats to those who made the team!

Man I thought I really hated Reeders slow ass before...this is crazy lol.

Overall the team has good depth and we'll make some noise if Stafford can stay healthy.

I don’t think there were any surprises. I guess you could say Dolac because he is a UDFA, but we expected he would be on the 53.

Kendrick and Rivers were cut.

I don’t understand what they see in Murchison.

Waived injured, so I think that means if he clears waivers they can put him on PS but if claimed they could pull him back an put him on IR
I get that but why even put him through the waivers process? As I understand it, with an IR designation he would not have counted against the 53 and would be safe from being poached at no real cost to the team.

Man, looking at this roster and I don't see a weak link anywhere. Even depth wise this is fucking solid as hell. Obviously a few players are way beyond important for SB goals but this might be the most impressive team on paper that McVay has ever had.
