No room for him on the 53 and it shows that he would not have made it through to the practice squad. Glad they recouped their draft expenditure, albeit not until 2028.
Rationale thought ... reasonable, sound perspective ... practical, objective analysis ... Fuck-Off!!!

Seriously though, most of us have less than positive opinions about certain players that WILL make the 53.

I am no different ... I hate Kendrick ... like Reeder as a person and even as a football player ... just not a Ram.
Not a fan of Murchison. If any of those three are on the 53, I will be disappointed that there are spots for other players that I would prefer to be on the roster.

In the case of the O-Line, I am not a big fan of Dedich, who I expect to make the 53. I would prefer Leveston.

Paul is not getting cut. I didnt see the piece that has him rumored but no way is Paul not making this roster.
Landman, Speights, Dolac and Paul. I am also not buying Reeder makes this team. I would bet the entire $10 in my wallet now that Paul makes this team....thats a lot of money for me :)

Too bad, it’s not a 2026 7th.

That makes the pick the Rams got for Leveston equal to a 9th round pick!! So it’s no better than a non priority UDFA in next years draft.

PFF grades and KT’s play in preseason suggested he’d be a decent backup. I guess NFL teams felt differently. I prefer to roll with the veterans in the case of emergency.

I don't completely agree with that thought.

In 2028, even though it is 3 years away, we will consider it a 7th round pick just like getting the 1st round pick next year from Atlanta.

Some people would say it had the same impact as a 2nd round pick in 2025.

However, when next year's draft comes around - it is a 1st round pick.

I actually like Leveston and I think he could be better than McClendon in the long run, however the numbers were stacked against him. McClendon seems to be really liked by the coaching staff so I figured he was safe and at this point I actually prefer Humphrey and Quessenberry (who might also get cut) as tackle depth over KT for a super bowl run.

I get wanting to keep Levston for the future but he does not have ideal height/length to be a long term answer at tackle and I expect the Rams to restock at tackle next off-season thought the draft.

Note: I'm a fan of Dedich because is an underdog and because he provides a lot of versatility to the interior.

Let’s not jump to conclusions until we hear from a reputable source.

I liked Dedich a lot.
He played well last season.....best of the many attempts to find a back G last year with all the injuries.
But, Leveston can play T as well.
He played pretty well this preseason, so, I am surprised he was traded.

I have never been a fan of reeder but, as a back up and special teams, he is better than Pooh. Pooh got a lot of play time and he never made a play at or before the line of scrimmage that wasn't after another player got there first. In this last game, I don't even think he got his named called.

It may come down to who they think may stand a better chance of making it through to the PS.
I don't think either Paul or Dolac will make it to the PS.

I’m guessing they like Reeder like they like Coleman Shelton—it’s more about the mental stuff and leadership that isn’t readily apparent just from watching the games.

50/50 IMO. He certainly didn’t shine in preseason games.
...whereas, Dolac sure did. He & Pooh are the same size, but it was clear who was more talented & getting to the ball carrier first.
Pooh was often waiting for the carrier to come to him. Dolac was always knifing into the scrum.
Welcome to the Rams, Shawn the Sheep!

Certainly true I think.
Knows the defense and can wear the green dot.
Solid player and good ST guy....like Ive said, kind of an ideal back up player.
He just isn't a starter really.
Landman reportedly stood out in camp.
I am interested in seeing if Speights has improved over the offseason.

It could be they're trying to trade him right now. I've seen a few fringe ilb cut so far this morning.

I think a lot of us are just tired of Troy freaking Reader

Could be.
He was ranked out as a mid round pick and I would assume plenty of teams had a draft able grade on him.
Picking him up this way a zero risk pickup.
True, but I am not sure that it would mater much. Now that I have seen him play, I am not concerned either way.

I think there’s a good chance he’ll clear waivers and we can add him to the practice squad. We’ve probably had the worst ILB group in the NFL for some time. We have to be more realistic and stop thinking other teams are waiting to scoop up our cuts when they probably don’t need them. This applies to OL cuts as well.

The time value of money principle still applies.

Just like if one man loans another $100k to be paid in 3 years at 10% interest. When he's paid in 3 years, he gets $133,100.

You can say they traded $100k in present money for $130k in future money. Like on our Atlanta trade, we traded lower present value for greater future value.

Working the principle backwards, if Leveston is worth a 7th in 2 years future money, he's worth a lot less in present value.
