Conspiracy theory: Supposedly the Browns like Dart a lot. Besides their early 2nd I wonder what else they would give to move to 26.

Richard Spielman seemed to really like Dart on that With The First Pick Podcast before he got that job with the Jets, too.

While it's possible the Browns, Jets, and Giants might be interested in trading up for Dart they really don't have to deal the Rams since there isn't a team past Pittsburgh that is probably considering a QB.

Rams will trade down to 32 or early 2nd round....then probably move up for a pick in the early/mid second round.
I think they are looking to add two immediate impact guys.....

*this is based on nothing but the gummy I had about an hour ago.

Maybe not, but I've been getting trade up vibes this year. If he or other highly coveted prospects last to the 18 range, we may make a move.
Agree... I know many feel it's a win now year, but we keep hearing more & more comments from the team about their "window" to win being multiple years. And Demoff just talked about the great position they are in going forward.

Seems as though they are very hyped about their cap situation & young roster going forward. So they may feel they can give up a pick or two to go get an important piece for that "future". So not necessarily all in just for this year in regards to this year's top pick. That's why to me Dart is definitely a possibility IF they like him. Maybe even giving up a high pick next year.

Right. Plus they intentionally addressed all positions of need in free agency. It feels like they did that so they can have the freedom to make a move if the opportunity arises.

Further, they've set themselves up post free agency where it's entirely plausible that no player they pick in the 1st round would start so that may be a pick to go any direction including for the future.

Besides they're drafted so well without 1st round picks that I'm sure they can find contributors with their later picks. I really don't want them to draft a QB but the position their in and timing is right if that's the direction they want to go.

The Rams are smart to play the Dart hand.

I am feeling nearly 100% we are NOT picking him.
I have to wonder if McVay’s latest comments on QBs tells us the opposite. Intriguing.

Rams' recent history seems to suggest that if they truly like a player, we will hear ZERO about it before the draft.

For example: last year it got "leaked" that the Rams met with Chop Robinson. But the Rams' private meeting with Jared Verse was kept a secret.

So how many heads will explode on this forum if the Rams trade up to 19 or 20, before the Steelers, to take Dart?

If that were to happen, you have to have faith in McVay's evaluation of him. Obviously they wouldn't trade for him if McVay didn't really like his potential.
Legitimately

I dont see the logic in the Rams showing interest in Dart as some sort of smokescreen. What do they gain?
I also dont see how "win now" means not taking the BPA who may not be able to start for a while, if its a stud OT who may not see the field, a WR who would be buried on the depth chart or even a QB who could be the starter post Stafford

The Rams may feel like Dart will be there late in the 1st rd. They may also feel like they’re gonna want to trade down. Could be misdirection to entice a Cleveland or a QB need team that passed in the top 10 for higher graded players to trade back up into the bottom of the 1st. Rams make a deal with them.

Just a contingency thing.

That’s all I got. I don’t see a QB project in the 1st rd for us makes sense. Adding a high 2nd and maybe a 4th makes sense.
