I am guessing if he is there at 26 they might take him. If not I have a feeling they will take Howard, McCord, or Ewers in rd 3 or 4. Starting to think Ewers might be a strong possibility based on arm talent alone.

If it comes to that, hopefully they can trade back from 26 and add an extra top 100 pick or two, then use one of those on a QB.
Other than him being a top high school prospect, I'm not sure where so many get this Ewers arm talent thing from. His arm strength, zip, and velocity all seem below average to me and his accuracy is just abysmal most of the time. I wouldn't touch him before the 6th round.

If we're taking a QB with below average arm strength (and I don't know why we would), I'd go Will Howard. At least the accuracy and mental processing are there, he's probably a starter level talent without much upside like a Purdy, Prescott, or Cousins.

Howard seems to have a weaker arm to me... and I kind of like Howard from his overall physical ability & mobility.

I am thinking Ewers because he played in a pro offense and he might just be the last guy on the board at pick 127 or even pick 90.

This is a fair evaluation of Ewers...and they list his arm talent as a strength. The issue is can he improve his processing and his play when under duress.

Why just not take a shitty QB?

McCord or Shough for me. Definitely agree that whoever it is, if we draft any, needs to be able to vibe with McVay and take to his hard coaching. I still want a CB or dope offensive weapon at #26 or even if we trade back.

Ewers was my selection in the developmental QB poll on this forum.

If we can, I would like to see us trade back from 26 and add a couple of picks in the 2nd and 3rd rounds, and use one of those on Ewers.

Jeez, I forgot that Ewers is even in the draft. None of the experts, media, coaches etc ever mention him. Talk about a fallen star. There was talk of him landing a record NIL deal when he hit the portal, and he surprisingly opted for the draft instead.
The way I see it, if you take all of the negative attributes of Dart, Sanders and Milroe and combine them in to one player, you have Ewers...

Thats a silly statement. Texas Tech threw the ball all over the place, had he gone to Alabama he might not even get a chance to start. Was only a 3 star recruit out of High School. He was in the right place at the right time and got drafted by the right coach
Actually I think it is you making the silly statement. His talent would have been seen at Bama and the national exposure would have greatly impacted his draft selection. For fuck's sake, Bama made Bryce Young, Tua and Mac Jones 1st round selections.

You dont get it. Young was the #1 QB recruit in the country, Tua was a 5 star player. Mahomes was only a 3 star recruit and made the most of his career. This isnt Madden. The real story here is how much talent there is out there, and had Mahomes gone to Rice, we may have never even seen him step foot in the NFL

Looking at most if your posts it is apparent you just like to argue until you feel you're right or won some kind of contest. We just disagree, doesn't make either one of us right or wrong, just different opinions.

It almost seems you argue with just about everyone who has a differing opinion, it's all good though, quite often I do agree with your posts. We're all still Rams fans.
