Which of these statements about Von Miller and Aaron Donald is true?

Ehh I am not sure I agree with either statement 1 or 2, so I selected the fourth option.

We naturally as fans get attached to these players but sometimes lose sight of the business aspect of it.

If AD wasn’t performing, everyone is well aware that he would be cut or traded. He came through when he needed to, and deserved every penny he earned. I don’t think “we not me” refers to the player’s contracts. It’s doing what’s best for the team on the field, in the weight room, during film sessions, and staying out of trouble. The business side of it is separate.

And as I’ve said before, Von never asked to come to the Rams. The higher-ups in Denver told him what was happening. When he got here, he bought in, taught AD something about being more vocal, and helped win the SB. But I never thought he he would finish his career here. Right after we traded for him, Snead gave an interview and said while the Rams wanted to work on an extension right away, both parties agreed to wait until after the season. That told me Von wanted to test free agency, and he got an absurd deal. Good for him. Any player has the right to maximize their value.

This would be true if he was used just as a corner and then safety later in his career. Problem for me is, and I have said this many times, I don't like using him elsewhere. He takes away the best and that is enough for me. It is like using your best receiver as a punt returner. Or sending your QB out on a route in the middle of the field, not the end zone. If Kupp was accurate Stafford looked like he was about to get laid out. The risk reward is not worth it.

Just to name a few as examples.

You know, those types of players that one can never forget. But those types are pretty rare and it’s unusual to have more than one on any given team at the same time. Rams once had 3 at the same time in Warner, Faulk, and Bruce and it was called the GSOT. Think about that for just a moment.

Well, I’m trying to wrap my mind around our current 2022 possibilities. I think we might just have 5 and maybe even 7 such talents on Rams roster for this season.

Matthew Stafford. Is there a better QB for this O in the league?

Aaron Donald. Need I say more?

Jalen Ramsey. If healthy, he’s the best CB in the league.

Cooper Kupp. Possibly the smartest football player on Rams since Faulk. And what a year he just had paired with Stafford.

Bobby Wagner. Yeah, he’s in the twilight of his career but it’s been a HOF worthy career with no signs of slowing down yet.

IMO, all 5 of these guys are All Pro caliber currently and constantly treat us to jaw-dropping plays. All will be future HOF’ers, I think.

Now I’m gonna add 2 more names for your consideration.

Allen Robinson. Yep, I’m projecting here because he just joined the team but I see him flourishing in his 1st year here like Stafford and Kupp did when paired last year. We’ve seen glimpses of what AR can accomplish with much lesser QB’s in vastly inferior O’s so I’m very optimistic about this guy for this year.

OBJ. He hasn’t signed yet and won’t be able to play until November, I know. But IF he signs then and joins this O mid season he will once again be making one amazing play after another. This O should be unstoppable. I feel that this last surgery cleaned up his knee and he will be good as he ever was, and I also feel strongly that he will re-sign with Rams. It makes too much sense for both parties.

So there you have it. A confluence of 5 All Pro caliber elites plus 2 more strong possibilities waiting in the wings to join this party. All coached by McVay and his staff.

How in the world did Snead put this all together for one potentially amazing season in the first place? Somebody pinch me!

The job isn’t done for LA Rams defensive back Jordan Fuller

Fuller's ideal game is when he plays with anticipation. I agree he wasn't as good last year as he was under Staley, that could be explained by coaching (preparing and understanding the gameplan as well as gameday calls) or maybe he was nicked up or something idk. But I do like that he actually has played well at this level.

As opposed to say Burgess who they keep trotting out there in package work. Great guy and all I'm sure and one of our best athletes in that safety group but something is missing there.

I suspect Raheem just needs to get that safety room stacked the way he wants it. Which is to say maybe he wants to play less quarters and more cover three for example in 2022. That would impact the corners too but the safeties are gonna be key there if he's moving away from quarters even a little in his approach. Note that I'm not suggesting they won't play quarters. But every DC has a mix he is comfortable with given down/distance/situation and Raheem needs to call what he's comfortable with so the better safety depth should give him a lot of room for trial and error in camp to find the right guys.

I love eating this more than the BBQ process... because waiting to eat it while it cooks just kills me. LOL

I make mine with a spicy Korean BBQ sauce/marinade. I chunk up the belly into about 2" squares and then marinate it in the Korean BBQ sauce all day. Then I put the chunks onto wooden skewers and cook em on an indirect heat on my egg. I like em a little crispy on the outside so I leave a small gap between each chunk when I skewer them.

Don’t know where this fits ? Just think I saw The Rams winning The SuperBowl back in 1999/2000

-Trent Green more than Kurt Warner. The Rams were already there because of the players. Tony Horne was a special return guy & Az as well.

Brandon Powell made such a big difference in 2021/22 which gets over looked about Special Teams. Adding a player for success.

Let’s slot the AFC East Teams

Bills for sure should be top dog. But the Dolphins have a ways to go and questions at QB. Patriots have a solid QB going into year two with an unselfish group of wideouts and a defense that gave up 19.4 last year.

Question for me is whether the Dolphins or Jets end up in the cellar. Jets QB was still struggling late last season so they're probably the team but we'll see. Will go Bills > Pats > Dolphins > Jets. I think they're a 2 playoff team division.

IMO Fuller and Burgess have to have breakout seasons. The talent is there they just need to put it all together. Scott simply needs to stay on his current developmental projection. He has speed and is a thumper, which is a great combination for a FS.

Considering how much zone they play, Scott is like having another CB on the field.

I will take it as a sign from Snead that he is looking forward with draft two safeties in this latest draft.

Quentin Lake sure appears to be close to what Nick Scott has in his backpack but not deep speed. QL is a strong deep coverage prospect who can play several types of deep coverage and has the range to be an effective ball hawk. However, QL has an outstanding high football IQ and impressive ball skills.

Playing behind deep safety Nick Scott this season should provide him the experience to be ready for a much bigger role when a large cadre of Ram DB's Rapp/ Scott/ Long/ Gervase & Hill enter free agency.

The other drafted Ram safety Russ Yeast played a ton of CB & Nickle in addition to safety. Yeast is also more of a deep safety that a box safety type like Taylor Rapp. So these two new safeties make this Ram secondary appear well blended.

SB Jet Sweep didn't go smoothly in practice

The Rams couldn't run the ball well. You can see the Bengals were playing pass on that play. They assumed it was a play fake, i.e. more eye candy. McVay was counting on that surprise factor. It was probably his best call of the night but it wasn't the only one.

On the goal line on that last drive. Stafford's dive against a stacked box seemed to make no sense. I'm sure McVay told Stafford to run the play regardless of how the Bengals play it. It set up the next play in which McVay specifically aligned Kupp as the Z receiver. This gave him a two-way break and the previous play forced the Bengals to again play the run. The minute I saw Kupp in single coverage out there I knew the pass was to him and it was going to be a game winning TD.

Two calls showed me that McVay learned from his previous SB loss. It was his turn to outcoach the first-time SB coach across the field. It was clear Sean did not intend to lose again due to being outcoached. It's going to make McVay very hard to beat in the next Super Bowl regardless of who they play.

I was surprised by this, usually guys don’t hesitate to put someone ahead of Kupp, but realistically Akers has to be a huge question mark. It was a great story but he contributed little in his comeback and almost cost them the Tampa game. If Akers scores a td before the half even the dark magic of Brady can’t save them. And are we counting on OBJ?
Kupp, Robinson, Jefferson and Akers will put up big time numbers but they’re not as sexy as some others like Chase and Mixon.
Lastly, Gronk says he’s not playing so until I hear otherwise I’m assuming he’s not playing, I’m not saying he won’t come back but why does a guy with a resume like his have to retire to get out of camp? He’s one of the greatest TEs to ever live and he’s got the rings to prove it, is anyone on the team gonna complain if Gronk doesn’t show up til August? He’s got this image of a big meathead following Brady around but dude has made a ton of money off this persona he created, and he’s not one of these new school TEs who are basically WRs, basically he’s another olineman.
