I put my dog down today, yes it sucks

sorry for your loss. I'm actually more a cat person (cause i'm lazy and with the advent of auto feeders and chip encoded auto pet doors), i really just supply her with food . i've had 9 cats (including "otto" cat -- who is going to be my last pet).
that being said, I've had 1 dog in my life and that was Nate, a golden chow mix that i had for 15 years before a bad back and a positive test on a mouth tumor led me to put him to sleep. he had no clue when told to do tricks via "dog speak" -- i.e. , sit, lay down, be quiet, etc.
but if you talked to him in sentences he was all over it. first day at home and he jumped up on the bed with me and lay with his butt towards the pillows and I tried " turn around, get down, move down " all to no avail until i went with " get your dead ass up out of my face and lay down" and he immediately got up, did a 180 and laid down. right then I knew I had a winner.

may your next dog friend be just as important to you as Ahsoka Tano was.

Safest positions to pick in round one of the draft

I think those pro bowl QB numbers might be misleading. It seemed like QBs opted out of the PB more than other positions, which meant replacements were named, resulting in there being more PB QBs than there should be.

Alternately, being a PB QB has little meaning when you realize that PB QBs include guys like Kyler Murray (2022), Ryan Tannehill (2019), Carson Wentz (2017) and Trent Dilfer (1997). I wouldn't feel great if my franchise was relying on any of those guys.

Back to the article: So those fans out there who think the Rams should just simply draft Staff's replacement? Yeah, I have an opinion about their opinion. Look at the numbers.
I think they should draft Staff's replacement. I just think they should throw fucking EVERYTHING to get to no 1. to do it.

Play these 4 cards for 2023: Health, Emergence, Career Year and Renewal

You have 4 cards to play to enhance the Rams chances of success. You may not use more than one card on any one player.

HEALTH: The player upon whom you bestow this card will be guaranteed to be healthy for the entire season.

EMERGENCE: You may bestow this card upon any player with 20 or fewer NFL starts. That player will emerge as a Pro Bowl caliber player.

CAREER YEAR: You may use this card on any player, and he will have a career year in 2023.

RENEWAL: Like the Health card, this card guarantees a fully healthy 2023, but it may only be used on a player who has been on the IR in the last two years.

Spend your cards wisely!
Interesting thread....
HEALTH: Cooper Kupp. If he has health, no magic cards are needed cuz the guy IS magic.

EMERGENCE: Steve Avila. He is so important to solidify this offensive line.

CAREER YEAR: Cam Akers. We need a thousand yard rusher and I hope I am wrong about Cam. (other posts)

RENEWAL: Matthew Stafford. This guy still has all the tools of a Top 3 QB in this league. Give him health, along with Cooper Kupp, we are going to rip this league apart.

I went offense heavy, because it seems like we are closer to being really good on offense, than on defense. We have too many rookies on defense that were not drafted that high (or at all) to expect to find that many hidden gems to be great (hope I'm wrong)

Single Movie That You Have Binge Watched...

Must've watched iRobot starring Will Smith and pretty much nobody else at least ten times because I was babysitting my then-younger-than-ten-year-old sister, and that must've been the only movie she ever wanted to watch. Not a bad movie to binge watch, even though you learn the lines after a time, and though Smith carried the weight of the entire movie on his back.

Yes, @Loyal , I know what you're going to try to snark, so I'll leave you with a pre-emptive one-liner: "Keep my sister's name out yo fuckin' mouth!"

Losing my taste for movie theaters…

Admit it, you were front and center for this one ...

Haha. Nope but I saw the original Gnomes movie with my daighter.

As a kid I saw Bambi, Rumplestiltskin and every old Sinbad movie at the local theater. I loved the monsters, magic and the adventure in the latter. A young Jane Seymour was the damsel in distress in one of those Sinbad movies. It cost .75 cents in the 70's. That place was gone before I graduated. Once VHS tapes and HBO came along it killed the local theater.

24 points per game - Have we done enough?

They have a ton of young OL. He's got to play some of them in preseason. Havenstein, Shelton and Allen shouldn't see the field for more than a series or two. Noteboom probably too. But Avila, Anchrum, Alaric, Bruss, McClendon, Thomas, Arcuri, the two UDFAs should all play a lot.

That’s a lotta guys competing for about half as many jobs. They would have to play, wouldn’t they? I sure hope they do.

Around the NFL: Forgotten 2022 NFL Draft Picks to Watch in 2023 Training Camps

Bruss and Avila are two of the key OL they have going into the future.

Do the Rams have their OL of the future in C Avila, LG Bruss, RG McClendon, LT Noteboom and RT Jackson? It will be interesting to see who plays where on the starting OL during TC. IMO McClendon is likely to be a work in progress to see if he can play OG this year.

This year I expect LT Noteboom, LG Bruss, C Shelton, RG Avila and RT Havenstein. That looks like a pretty good IOL.
As stated before, I am really concerned about Noteboom's availability so I am hoping Jackson is the LT instead

Do Not Count Out The Los Angeles Rams

Yeah it's a nasty sched especially early. Which sucks because McVay's teams tend to use the first four as their preseason games and generally are at their worst early on. If this team comes out the gate slow this year they'll be 0-4 so hoping they're ready to go and I'm talking the lines in particular. OL especially.

I'm hoping the starters get a tune-up look at some point in preseason this year due to this. But McVay is very stubborn about it so probably not.

Higbee Higbee Higbee!

Snaps aren't the best indicator. SJD had a job and when another player emerges staffs don't always play them as much as they should. The coaches need to handle the people so it isn't like with us where we see the quality of the backup and expect a quick change on the depth chart.

Gaines was a slam dunk to be the starter because he was more immovable vs double teams plus penetrates in the rush. And the timing was ideal for the Rams on his emergence, with SJD moving on for more money. Sometimes things line up.

This year it was similar with Ramsey, whose game was showing cracks. Rams moved him wisely to avoid drama and bs and went young. So the quality of replacement is not as good as Gaines>SJD but it might work out better for them than everyone expects.
