Kneejerk Central: Grade the Draft

Kiper is a tool!

Draft experts? Think of it in terms of how well the Rams do in the lower rounds. Everybody and anybody can produce a list of the top 50. But after that they're all over the place both with their rankings and how the players actually turn out. I'd love to see a list of Kiper's (and other so called draft experts) hit and miss rates from 51 on down. I'd bet they're not all that good.

And that’s exactly where the Rams’ FO separates themselves from the rest of the league.

Kupp and Edelman discuss 2021 NFC Championship

Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp Discusses His Professional Pet Peeve

“There’s a responsibility on players to do something in the offseason to prepare yourself to get ready to go,” Kupp starts his diatribe.

“I just wish that more guys showed up ready to go. I understand this in terms of the the issues between the league and the players and the product needs to be good and there’s obviously the union is always going to argue for less work. The league is going to argue for more games. There’s a middle ground here where we got to come together and figure out what’s the way we put our best product forward.”

“There is a responsibility on players to show up ready to work. That’s where I think some of this stuff could happen. Where guys in the summer take off. If you don’t want to be ready for OTAs, I’m fine with that but the guys that leave all summer, don’t do anything all summer, and then show up for training camp that summer. You get five weeks from OTAs to training camp, take your break and then get ready to work because it’s in your best interest as a player to show up ready to go. To protect yourself, protect your teammates be ready to put your best foot forward.”

“If you don’t show up to training camp ready to go, I have a hard time when guys get hurt or guys do stuff or guys aren’t ready or guys are you know getting talked to by coaches about potentially getting released it’s like I saw you were in the Caribbean for 3 weeks.”

I love my wife, I love my family and friends, I love God, I love my Country ... and, I LOVE COOPER KUPP!

The greastest (QB) throw ever made ?

The only passes I care about are RAMS passes.

Easily a top 5 Rams play in my lifetime. I was 13 yrs old going nuts watching that in my Dad's den. The funny thing is I remember going into that playoff season with no real expectations as opposed to previous yrs always thinking it was going to finally be their year. Funny how that worked out.

NFL to test optical tracking system for line-to-gain rulings in preseason with eyes toward 2024 implementation

I don't see how it changes anything. The refs still have to place the ball based on where they see where the ball is at when the knee hits the ground. Then after everything is placed the optics tell them it is a first down or not. Really don't think this a big deal. Not until they have ground sensors sensing a knee sensor hitting the ground and a chip sensor that shows the entire size of the ball coinciding with the previous sensors will it make a difference.
Not sure blue font is needed... seems like a logical next step. Maybe several years away, but not inconceivable they develop "where was knee down" technology.

Also, the current use of optical sensor will definitely help for ball placement when "knee down" isn't relevant-- like when a runner is pushed out of bounds, or at the end zone pylon, as examples.

Fury v Usyk

I was at the lake all weekend, it would have been a fight I watched though! Usyk won but how was his performance? Does Fury look past his prime? I need to look at the score cards to, haven't done that either.

Shit I'll watch any MMA or boxing. All day everyday. I kind of like to watch no Americans to see how others match up etc.
Usyk is a tough match up for Fury.
Fury's big advantage, besides his massive size, is how well he moves.
Usyk moved like a middle weight.
Moves very well.
His movement and technical prowess allowed him to consistently move Fury back despite being the smaller fighter. He was able to get inside Fury's jab at times and go to work.
I was going to post about this before the fight (as I though Usyk had a good shot at an upset) but forgot about the fight as it was at a weird time.
The Fury Joshua fight, while fun, certainly looks like a battle for second fiddle at this point.....
who should Usyk fight next (Im assuming Fury will try to fight Joshua before fighting Usyk again)?
