John Sullivan is a perfect example.The Rams have built good teams & chances to win since Mcvay became HC. That was a HUGE mistake on Mcvay’s part for cutting him. Big time.

Edge is gonna be drafted. Makes too much sense to go any other direction. Corner I'm more iffy on, simply because it's hard to watch wtf they're doing with the shit film we get on youtube. With NFL film you can all 22 and see them.

But even TE aligns for the Rams isn't that interesting. Not a bunch of top guys but role types deep into the draft.

You know I see a possibility of us going with Kellen Diesch or ASU other lineman this draft the Swiss Army knife C/G. I could see both being available at our later picks and both being good value if their there.

Honestly this about the timing to have McVay influence another young TE pick. I wouldn’t be surprised at all, no guarantees our young TE from USF will come back full speed this year after his injury.

It seems like a plethora of capable TE’s and a good runner are really what make this McVay offense pop!

When Akers came back, i figured the Rams wouldn't let him play if they didn't think he was ready. I posted at that time that my biggest worry was fumbles due to rustyness. It took a few games, but it showed up against a ball hawking D. Up to that point he doesn't show a pattern of fumbling. I don't think the Rams have changed their opinion of him at all. Not their style to have knee jerk reactions. Doesn't mean they won't get another RB.

The 49er run attack might be weaker this year. Deebo probably made the Niner coaching staff to think Mostert was expendable. But Deebo is a WR not a RB. Mostert was IMO the scariest RB on their roster. This guy had true explosion, as a RB with elite speed. I'm glad he's in Miami now. They also lost their starting RT and LG in Compton and Tomlinson. It's a matter of how good are their replacements? LG is key in pass protection and RT is a key in their run game.

If I had to speculate I'd say the 49ers got weaker, not better this year. The Cardinals also appear to be weaker as well. The 49ers draft fairly well but IMO the Cards had to resort to hired guns because they draft poorly. They only have about $6.5M in cap and they are notoriously poor in their cap management. Their roster isn't as strong as last year IMO.

Rams faced the 10th hardest schedule entering last season.. and.. if they hadn't have lost their way for a few games.. could've easily had the best record in the NFC.

Also.. on paper.. versus what happens during the season.. injuries, etc.

If we got him in the 5th it would be a steal.

On your point, "he didnt' lead his team into scoring position for well over a quarter", he actually did. Twice.

At the end of the third quarter, with the Falcons leading 28-9, on 2nd and 1 from the NE 32, Matthews was called for a hold on a -1 yard run by Coleman. They ran well in the first half (9 for 86) but hadn't been able to do much in the 3rd Q (6 for 7 yds including 3 TFL). After an incomplete pass on 2nd down (which Hooper had in his hands at the NE 37 but the DB slapped it out), the next play on third an 11, Ryan was sacked on a blitz. That's on Shanahan (or Quinn). You're up 19 and there's 0:52 left in the 3rd Q, you run on that down because 1) the Patriots are expecting the pass and 2) if the run gains 5 yards, you have the TV timout at quarter's end to decide whether to punt or go for the 55 yard FG. Bryant was 6 of 8 in 2016 with a long of 59.

Later in the 4th, on 3rd and 1, Ryan is sacked on a blitz by Hightower and loses a fumble. Sure that's on Ryan despite the fact New England was blitzing again and Hightower came unobstructed to clock Ryan. I can understand a pass there because Coleman was injured on the previous play. Freeman completely missed the block on Hightower. Ryan lined him up inside the RT presumably with his sole responsibility to block any blitzers from the right side of the offense.

On the next possession, after New England scored to get it to 28-20, Ryan drove them from the Atlanta 10 to the New England 35. With 3:56 to play and Davonta Freeman in at RB, on 2nd and 11 at the NE 23, again they drop back to pass (when a 0 yard run would have practically given them a FG and an 11 point lead) Ryan was sacked again by Flowers. The playcalling is what sunk Atlanta in that second half, not Ryan.

Over the course of 10 years (2011-2020) he averaged 4570 yards passing, 28 TD and 12 Int completing 66.5% with a QB rating of 96.3. Those are solid numbers. There's a legit argument either way for the HOF.
