I wasn’t sold on Ernest Jones his rookie year.I liked him,but in camp
he looked like he needed to bulk up.

The 9er game on the road it was obvious,but he worked hard on being ready.

Raheem Morris told him to keep ready.He proved himself & Kenny Young was gone.

Smith & Wesson makes the M&P Shield EZ which is designed for folks who have trouble racking slides. I don't have the EZ version but I do carry a Shield and it is an accurate little gun that is pretty easy to shoot well.

I think McVay requires pass game threat from his TE2 if you want to have them out there more often in 12 sets. He's not a ball control guy and never will be. His TEs will need to block of course but the WRs are required to block too and they do it well. So really the key for this TE depth group is who if any of these guys can be a good enough matchup threat while also being willing to throw their body into blocking responsibilities. Because without that then why not just leave your big and blocking-capable wideouts on the field. Rams can trot Kupp (6'2"), Robinson (6'2"), and Skow (6'3") out there with Higs (6'5") and not give up a damn thing in the size department. All of a sudden they have a very large lineup of targets for 9 to put that ball on without dipping into that TE depth group.

Hopkins has a chance though for sure. I will point out of his 4 receptions in the Super Bowl one of them was bobbled however. Is he past his drop issue he had in college. He's probably been on the roster long enough now to where he knows the plays and mentally can be counted on to be in the right play. He looks good in his routes, very smooth. His upside for the pass game makes me think they're going to try to get him going.

Blanton I figure is the fallback. He's kind of oversized and lumbering, which I don't mind at all in my TEs but I think McVay wants guys who are very smooth and natural in the pass game. Blanton is balanced moreso than Hopkins is, I think he's a better blocker. So that's why I figure he's the guy they go with as TE2 in 2022 if Hopkins can't make a move. But if things go that route then basically 12 is only going to be seen when the Rams want to kill clock. You won't see much of it due to matchups vs smaller secondaries or slow ILBs on the opponents' film.

I see Chicago bottoming out this year, last place in the North.

Cooper Kupp wants to be better than the year before. That has make opposing DC's nervous. There are faster receivers. Bigger receivers. But no one can separate and use his intelligence like he can. Thank you Cooper Kupp for helping our team achieve some the Los Angeles Rams have never done. Win the Superbowl. As good as Aaron Donald is, you were the team MVP all year and the post season.

Great info on Thad Bogardus as Bogardus seems like he never played even in college he went to Elon University where he was a video coordinator moved on to become a Graduate Assistant at Ball State University and left Ball State in 2014 accepting a job with the Buffalo Bills as a Defensive Quality Control Coach.

From there Bogardus went to the Broncos as an intern and then came with Wade Phillips as part of Sean McVay's initial staff in 2017. McVay has mentioned him several times, I thought he would continue as just a defensive assistant, much like Zak Kromer, who has been an offensive Assistant since 2017, however, Bogardus finally got a bump in 2020 being Assistant DL Coach, last year Assistant Linebacker Coach and this year, he's overseeing a unit the OLB's.

I'm assuming he's worked with he's worked with Chris Beake in his stops at Denver so that relationship should be solid, but Bogardus seems to be very bright, however, I wonder about his ability because of never playing the game even at the collegiate level, but there has been some success and IMO, Beake although having the title of Inside Linebacker Coach, would seem to be more involved with that unit overall IMO.

den all I can do from down here afar from the Rams location...is ascertain from what I can read & obtain in roster information and make-up.

I have Been hinting at the slow trending buildup in the 2022 roster of 43 DE's on this roster. Not sure why but the proof is right in our face.

I prefer the 34 D base defense myself so I am not advocating for any change of this base defense to the 43 D. DC Morris has a long history of running heavy usage during game action of DB's at the same time as the front half of his defense varies from snap to snap.

The interesting evidence in this pre-2022 season roster that Snead built has a good amount of 43 DE's type defenders vs. the puny amount of inexperienced/rookies UDFA's & 7th rd draft selections 34 ER's/OLB'ers.

I will be closely observing just where DC Morris can manufacture additional pass rush other than AD from this roster & which Defensive unit will provide that pash rush.....the DL/ ILB'ers/ OLB'ers/ corners or safeties. of course this will be worked out during TC & preseason.

Currently, I do not see the ER's/OLB'er cadre carrying the usual heavy load responsibility & it appears at this time he will get it from every unit not where he got it in 2021.

Stafford should have been picked off & The Rams losing 3 in a row with Stafford as the QB. Just saying.

Trading 5 1st would be just plan BAD if that were the case. Jared Goff also gets a bad Rap (Taylor). Then again Goff will do what he does & The Rams are SuperBowl Champs.

The Best thing about Matthew Stafford is he is about team first(WE) & he took a Ram friendly contract even if it’s still crazy coin.

The Rams as a team(organization) do things right.The preseason should be fun.It will give good insight on the young players & depth.

They DID use the trade and draft to help the team in other areas. That should help them, and no doubt they see the move as an upgrade as you’ve said.

But, with $14M in cap, it feels like there is/was some jam available to do more at WR.
