Behind the Grind: Episode 4

I think Poona Ford is gonna be a much bigger deal than we give him credit for. He’s a fireplug and very hard to move. We’ve hardly talked about him, but wouldn’t surprise me at all to see us in a more traditional 3-4 front or 3-3 nickel to utilize the NT position against the run.
Yes I agree it was an underrated signing. Just based on how that MFer played every time against us in the past, he's gonna help our defense. It's really difficult for OL to focus on Verse or one of these other excellent players we have up front when they have A gap pressure on top of it from Ford. And he's a player who does the work on early downs.

OFFICIAL 2025 NFL News: Trades, cuts, free agency, and more

I know this is how teams keep guys like Lampkin, I thought for sure when the Rams designated him waived /injured that he was going to be a Ram this year. I thought they could pull back waivers but it appears that the league just had the agreement like you said.
I'd love to hear mcVay/Snead thoughts on this
I'm surprised no one has brought it up in any of the pressers. The Eagles need to develop a top scouting team of their own instead of mooching off ours.

Micah Parsons traded to Green Bay

I asked ChatGPT to generate a post in the style of SoRam. You be the judge of the results:

I keep saying this & nobody listens so maybe I’m wrong but I’m not ?? Rams traded Quinn which was smart & dumb same time cause Floyd came later & was already there before then after ?? He had the better year AFTER Quinn left but before Donald’s peak maybe unless it was the Superbowl year which I still think was cause of Von not Floyd but you need BOTH so it’s not one or the other ??

People forget Rams almost gave up TOO FIRSTS for that DE from Carolina & if they had done it they would’ve missed on Verse or whoever came later maybe Jefferson or Akers can’t recall but it’s the same draft I think ?? You see how Les Snead dials up 5th round picks into 1st round talent but then again he misses on 1st round talent like Tavon Austin who I liked but didn’t like at the same time cause he was small ??

Then Stan paying ONE DOLLAR for SOFI that’s not just rent it’s leverage cause Jerry Jones told him after the Herschel Walker trade how to get LA back which I know cause I followed that vote from being a fly on the wall or maybe I just read it later same thing ?? Rams BACK to LA meant trade SJ39 to Cowboys but they didn’t do it when Dallas had TWO FIRSTS which could’ve been Parsons years before Parsons was even drafted ??

Way Too Early GDMT

3076 miles from my deck to Pismo Beach pier!!
A mere hop, skip, and a jump.

Pismo was one of our hang outs in high school and for about 10 years after. You could drive on the beach and have huge bonfires. We'd take my truck and point it at the ocean and then stick it in reverse and drive as far back toward the dunes as possible. Wherever I got stuck was where we'd circle up the other vehicles (most of them 4x4s) and set up camp. Some great times had on that beach. And Pismo clams were legendary.

Arch Manning and Matt Stafford: Rams succession plan

BTW, the most satisfying thing about the UNC debacle was watching Mike Lombardi, Bill Belicheck's "GM" at UNC, witness that his 70 new players, that he brought in, have a ways to go to be competitive.
I loved how UNC took the opening series, drove down the field like clockwork and scored. Looked like they were on their way. Michael Jordan, Roy Williams, Mia Hamm, all celebrating and then they got lit the F up
Was awesome

VIVA! LAS VEGAS!... football odds

i'll be on my way, to my yearly quest, to put the six month bets down...

$100 on rams to win the SB

$100 on the over for the season win total... not even sure what that is now, it was 9.5

$100 on the rams to win the west...

and finally, and probably my best odds ... stafford for mvp!!!

it's a yearly thing, so a $400, six month long bet... about $16 per week give or take...

adds a little extra to the season, been doin it, off and on since 1999....

go rams

slo
Here is my sneaky good pick. Odds of Jared Verse winning DPOY are anywhere from +1200 to +1500. $100 bucks on him to win it feel like good odds. I got +1400 on Fandual a few weeks ago. Big jump coming for Verse this year in terms of sacks. Book it :)

Moving to Florida

If only someone would have pee'd on me! ~ Steve Irwin

The tough part about that horrific day... at least according to my memory... was that Steve may have been able to survive if the barb hadn't been pulled out on the scene. Maybe I have that part wrong, but losing that dude was a tough one for me. He did amazing work educating people all over the world about animals.

I remember when I heard about it... we were over in the Bahamas like we used to do. We killed fish above and below water every day for a month. I was literally cleaning our day's catch when somebody told me. There were big rays eating the scraps I was throwing off the back of our boat. I was like "What, a ray?". Crazy nutz.

Help me out.

Spoon is a very inconsistent corner, always has been. He'll be meh for stretches at a time and then try to turn it on for a big game. He's not a speedster nor particularly fluid so he's always gonna have a problem running 40 yrds down the field with a receiver. It sounds like there are rumblings too that he's not particularly assignment sound when compared to others.

Teams didn't want him because of all this.

I think people look at interceptions in big games and think he's good. He's not particularly good. But, like someone said earlier, CB has one of the highest variance for play year to year. Here's hoping we can get his top level play this year.

I don't put a lot of faith in him play in and play out.

OFFICIAL LA Rams 2025 Practice Squad Signing thread

Parkinson, absolutely. But I'm not getting rid of Allen so easily. He's done well in limited snaps. And we need three tight ends, since Higbee is possibly gone after this year (I'm sorry, I like him and all, but he'll be thirty-two, and he's been injured tons.), and Parkinson being hopefully gone. Redman could possibly take the third blocking role or we could sign someone for it, but I want Allen on this team; he's a young 6'6" tight end with underrated receiving skills. He and Ferguson could make a deadly combo on 12 sets.
I was hoping Davis Allen would have made great progress in his second year but he really didn't move the needle at all. Tight Ends typically take 2 or 3 years to develop so hoping Allen can progress a lot this year. If not, I believe we still have him for another year, cut Parkinson to save cap and draft another blocking TE. Ferguson, Allen, Redmen and a draft pick will round out the TE roster next year?

Dane Brugler initial top 50 big board

Super Duper Early but plenty of OT prospects ... including five in the top-15. Would like to see more CBs.

PLEASE READ College and Draft Threads

As we are about to start the NFL season, please post threads regarding college players and who you see us possibly drafting in the forum for the draft and college football.

The Rams/NFL forum will get pretty busy and we need to try to keep it as uncluttered as possible.

Also, if yawlz would, please search before posting a thread so we can keep duplicate threads to a minimum.

Thank you and GO RAMS!!!

LaNorris Sellers QB U South Carolina

Now this is interesting. It is one thing when the area scouts are there but the GM is doing what good GMs do. They may also be looking at one of the WRs Sellers is throwing to. See below.

Absolutely not a fan of Nyck Harbor based on that one play in the redzone. He doesn't try to hotdog the catch (catch with both hands, when he more than had the capability to do), that's as easy a six as you'll get; Sellers couldn't have thrown a better ball, threw where only Harbor could get it. And it was still a very close game at that time: 7-5, if I'm not mistaken. Yes, he had a long touchdown, but that was more Sellers - again, a perfect ball, hit him right in stride.

Don't fucking hotdog the catch for the highlights. Just make the simple play when you more than have that capability. As a Mizzou fan, I hope his coach didn't chew his ass out on the sidelines, so he makes a similar mistake against us, but as someone who follows football as a whole and is kinda-sorta anal about fundamentals, I hope his coach did chew his ass out.

QB 2026

He had a great day yesterday, but if you watch the highlights, he’s still not hitting guys in stride and has a ways to go. That’s the stuff that got him benched in Boise. Hopefully he can improve in those areas. he did have some nice throws too. That is a tough position. If you are not perfect you get crucified. (By know-it-all fans like me.)

True, but you just can't teach his athletic gifts, and unlike others like Anthony Richardson, Green is a very mature and coachable kid.
