We don't swing for the fences in FA. A few years ago, we were reportedly interested in trading for Douglas. He struggled in 2024 with the Bills and then had a bounce back year in 2025 with the Dolphins. At his age, it's hard to say what we'll get from him, but he should be a relatively cheap signing, he's a big CB (6'2" 208), and he fits our zone-heavy scheme well. Andersen is injury prone, but Falcons fans say he has impressed when he's on the field (which is rare). I like him as a special teams guy (6'4" 240 + a 4.4 40). If he stays healthy and we get more from him, great. If not, he won't cost us much. I think we need to sign a veteran swing OT with Havenstein likely retiring. Nijman played well when he came off the bench to fill in at LT against Verse.

Ramsey had an up and down year for the Steelers. There's a new coach in town. The Rams were reportedly interested in trading for him before the 2025 season. I think a reunion makes sense. Ramsey isn't the player he once was, but he's versatile and hopefully has enough left in the tank to be a solid starter for us.

Round 1 Pick #13 - Jordyn Tyson WR Arizona State
Analysis: Instant acceleration. Gifted route runner with exceptionally rare movement skills. Great body control. Can be elusive after the catch. Capable blocker. Had some focus drops the past two years. Doesn't have elite contested catch ability or top-end speed. Injuries are the major red flag. Still, he's a top 10 talent.
Round 1 Pick #29 - Avieon Terrell CB Clemson
Analysis: Feisty, competitive player who has the speed to run with WRs on crossers and the hip flexibility and twitch to stay in the hip pocket. Forced 8 FFs over the past two years. Biggest knock is that he's undersized (5'11" 180). Still, he plays bigger than his size and is a willing tackler.
Round 2 Pick #29 - Jacob Rodriguez ILB Texas Tech
Analysis: Arguably the best defender in college football this year. 128 tackles, 7 FFs, and 4 INTs. Instinctive, outstanding in coverage (especially zone), and flies to the ball in the running game. Due to his lack of length, he'll struggle to defeat blocks, but if you keep him clean, he can be a game wrecker.
Round 3 Pick #29 - Nadame Tucker EDGE Western Michigan
Analysis: There are some red flags with Tucker. One year wonder who broke out in his fifth year in CFB after transferring to WMU. Put up monster numbers (14 sacks and 21 TFLs). What eases my concern is that he was a top performer at the Senior Bowl. Undersized (6'2" 246) with an explosive first step and ample bend.
Round 6 Pick #6 - Ephesians Prysock CB Washington
Analysis: Long CB who played well for Washington after transferring from Arizona. Good athlete who has the limitations you expect in a 6'3" CB (short-area quickness and too grabby). Should fit well on special teams and has developmental potential if you can polish his technique.
Round 6 Pick #28 - Markel Bell OT Miami
Analysis: Bell is a project. Due to his high pad level and technical flaws, he will sometimes look pretty bad out there. But you also can't teach 6'9" 360 or near 37 inch arms. His movement skills aren't bad for his size, and he has extraordinarily strong hands. Worth a shot to see if we can develop him.
Round 6 Pick #29 - Kaden Wetjen WR/RS Iowa
Analysis: The best return man in college football. It's time to take special teams seriously. He also has some potential as a slot and gadget guy on offense. Though, even if we get minimal contributions from him there, he's worth it for what he can do on returns.
Round 7 Pick #15 - Jalon Daniels QB Kansas
Analysis: Daniels is an intriguing project in this QB class. He's short at 6'0" 220, but he has a lot of physical tools. Good athlete who is difficult to tackle, strong arm, and a relatively compact throwing motion. Great thrower on the run. Was streaky at Kansas, but he put up good numbers in 2025.
Round 7 Pick #16 - Nate Boerkircher TE Texas A&M
Analysis: Boerkircher was not a super productive TE, but he's a big guy (6'5" 250) who blocks well. I thought he showed better than expected receiving talent at the Senior Bowl. I don't expect him to be a Pro Bowler, but he can be a solid role player for us.

The first time around, the Rams threw EVERYTHING at getting the roster to critical mass to win a SB, including a massive amount of draft capital. They had to, they desperately needed difference-makers like Stafford, Ramsey and Miller. This time? They *have* difference-makers on the roster, imo.. in Stafford, Verse and Puka. Their biggest issues are obvious, Corner and overall Special Teams.

I would argue that the "all-in" this time should be more on the financial end.. targeting FAs, especially one prime Corner. I would also consider going after Rasheed Shaheed.. overpriced.. but a perfect fit for this team's needs.

Do not use draft capital in trades unless there's a ridiculous value to be had and they should be looking to bolster the roster's overall talent and depth with the draft and be looking at the longterm as much as the immediate. My plan going into the draft would be using one of the firsts, but trading back with the other with the goal of having at least 6 picks in the first 4 rounds. WR, CB, and OT being the top priorities.. but then S and ILB and Edge. If they draft as well as recent years.. wow.

They've put themselves in the position to push the 2026 roster over the top.. while not sacrificing the future of the team.

Two moves.. converting Davante Adams and releasing Darious Williams.. puts them up to 71 million in space. I assume AT LEAST 10 mil of that goes to a raise for Stafford.. but that leaves A TON of money for some immediate roster help. Both in high-end spots like the two I mentioned.. but also for bargain hunting for those vets who can come in and offer quality depth.

Is there a big offseason trade for a star veteran player that the Rams could make? Will they trade any of those pics for such player?? Could Myles Garret be had for some pics.. or who’s available that could make an immediate impact in the secondary? Im sick as hell that the Rams are not playing tomorrow and already looking forward to free agency and the draft. Peace.

Three times both QBs threw for 300 or more.
Montana & Marino in SB 19.
Brady & Delhomme in SB 38.
Brady & Foles in SB 52 (which Brady lost despite setting the record of 505 yards)

31 SB QBs have thrown for less than 200 yards. They are 17-14
Which means 62 have thrown for more than 200 but less than 300. They are 18-34.

We're talking about 59 Super Bowls over different eras in the NFL.

In the first 18 Super Bowls more run plays were called than pass plays 12 times (including sacks).
Over the next 41 years, more run plays than pass plays has never occurred.
And still over the last 20 years, 4 guys have passed for less than 200 yards, which seems pretty difficult to do.

(This is what I'm not sure of, but I think is a possibility. I think the top three receivers, McCoy, Downs, the top four edge rushers, Mendoza, Fano, and Mauigoa all go before #13 and I really don't like using #13 on the options remaining - and before you ask, no, I am not a Delane fan at all. We say we have conversations with another team taking Simpson at #13. Pittsburgh trades up with us to secure the spot, swapping firsts while giving us two third round selections.)

(Here's our third-down, sideline-to-sideline linebacker. A bit small, but has outstanding speed and smarts. Should immediately help on teams.)

(There's our punt returner/slot receiver. Coleman is cat-quick, smart, and a solid route runner. Brings juice to our punt return unit and teams.)

(Big cornerback who was productive everywhere but Washington. We'll see if Washington was a fluke or not, but he should be great on kick/punt coverage.)

(Wildcard as a QB. Outstanding athlete and arm, smart, hard worker, but scattershot accuracy. Did better last year with better receivers than he had this year.)

(Steady center for the championship team. Technical, powerful, not the best athlete or pass protector, but he's worth the gamble this late.)

(Productive linebacker who placed second in tackles in the NCAA. Productive pass rusher as well. Should immediately help on teams.)

#232 overall (Rams) - Gary Smith III, NT, UCLA.

(Huge nose tackle with freakish physical traits with a 700 lbs. squat. Needs to keep an eye on his weight - he's been at 355 before - but has been very productive against the run.)

#250 overall (Robinson comp) - Keyshawn James-Newby, EDGE, New Mexico.

(Outstanding edge rusher. Explosive and productive throughout multiple college stops. Had a decent run grade, but it's not good enough for the NFL yet.)

#256 overall (Rozeboom comp) - James Neal III, OG/OT, Iowa State.

(Versatile and big, he can back up McClendon and the guard spots.)

KEY UDFAs:

(Big and hugely productive running back at a DII school, first running back to win the Harlon Hill trophy since 2013. His Pro Day will be interesting, to say the least.)

(Call me crazy, but I'd rather have Green as the backup than Bennett; if Stafford goes down for any length of time, we're screwed either way, so why not let the kid see what he can do and learn from the master?)

RB: Kyren Williams, Blake Corum, Jarquez Hunter (KR).

(Light on running back, but K-Will and Corum are a solid duo, and Hunter gets the primary kick return duties along with occasional snaps. Curtis Allen is on the practice squad in case any of our backs are hurt.)

WR: Puka Nacua, Davante Adams, Dontayvion Wicks, Jordan Whittington, Konata Mumpfield, Malachi Fields, Kevin Coleman Jr. (PR)

(No real surprises at wideout. Using Whittington and Mumpfield as gunners and backups, Coleman as the punt returner, and Fields gets a redshirt year before he takes over the role. Williams, Edwards, and Pressly are all practice squad with the capability of jumping up.)

TE: Isaiah Likely, Colby Parkinson, Terrence Ferguson, Davis Allen.

(I was torn about Allen actually being traded, but I'm keeping him on for now. Likely starts, Fergy learns more, and Parkinson will hopefully keep living up to his contract.)

OL: Alaric Jackson, Steve Avila, Coleman Shelton, Kevin Dotson, Warren McClendon, David Quessenberry, Justin Dedich, Pat Coogan.

(It's a risk having lighter O-linemen after our starters, but I'm willing to take a risk. Neal goes on the practice squad along with Bowles and McMahon; Neal's not able to play left tackle in the pros and is better suited for guard, unlike Quessenberry and he isn't established like Dedich. Believe me, I was torn on this. I think Neal steps in next year or in case of injury, though; I think he's that pro-ready.)

DL: Kobie Turner, Braden Fiske, Poona Ford, Tyler Davis, Ty Hamilton.

(Gary Smith III ends up on the practice squad to condition him for the NFL. Other than that? Same old, same old.)

LB: Jared Verse, Byron Young, Nate Landman, Omar Speights, Josaiah Stewart, Desjuan Johnson, Keyshawn James-Newby, Shaun Dolac, Harold Perkins Jr., Red Murdock.

(Still think Agent Zero is a prime trade candidate, but we'll see what happens with his contract. Dolac, Perkins, Murdock should help a tremendous amount on teams, while James-Newby is a healthy scratch to get better against the run. I think Perkins or Dolac replace Speights in the starting lineup eventually, but McVay likes his starters.)

DB: Emmanuel Forbes Jr., Cor'Dale Flott, Roger McCreary, Quentin Lake, Kam Curl, Colton Hood, Chris Johnson, Tacario Davis, Kamren Kinchens, Jaylen McCollough, Josh Wallace.

(This is where the majority of our players will go. Forbes and Flott start with McCreary splitting STAR duties with Lake and Kinchens coming in when Lake is in the STAR. Hood, Johnson, Davis? They all sit for a time or unless Forbes/Flott/McCreary bomb. McCollough and Wallace are on teams. Offord learns from the veterans; I think he could be an excellent teams player in time. Valcarcel is on the practice squad as the safety well, as I want nothing to do with Ingle after the screw-up in the Panthers game.)

ST: Harrison Mevis, Ethan Evans, Beau Gardner

(I think Gardner wins the job. Evans has to kick better, or his job is on the line. We'll see if Mevis can keep his kicks straight next year. Overall? Very fluid situation.)

Mansoor Delane is probably the best pick, if available. Otherwise, Lemon is probably the safest selection. IMO. Instead of attempting to fill a need at a position with a lesser rated player or gamble on the medical history of a higher rated player, it might be best to go the safe route here. And with a dawg.

The other is a Ram fan and reluctantly will bet on Seattle because he hates NE too much. Me, I hate both teams and want them both to lose. I don't want to upset the mojo in the room (we watch in one of out hotel rooms), but I kind of sorta have now shifted to want NE to win. I never bet on a team I don't like - I've done that before and it sucks if you lose after betting on and rooting for a team you don't even like. So what do I do? Secretly bet on NE and stay quiet? Bet only on the unders? Aarrrggh.

Just wanted to say how happy I was that Kyren didn't fumble after the 1st SF Game, where he fumbled on the 1 yard line. He seemed to do a much better job of covering up in traffic, and didn't fumble over his last 221+ carries.
