I just hope Robinson isn't playing his way into a contract the Rams can't afford.

I think one of the reasons for Tutu sitting is the fact that Puka can actually stretch the field.. so they still have that component.
Sean loves running out of 11 and being able to switch into "tempo" if the defense falls into a personnel grouping he really wants to attack.. and Robinson gives him the flexibility to do anything he wants from that setup.

Most complete offense the Rams have had since 18.

It would be nice to keep Robinson, there’s definitely a place for a savvy guy who can win contested catches. Kupp wasn’t on his A game and it was good to have someone step up.
Instead of paying a guy who is limited in that X role that we need, I'd prefer we pay Evans who will fucking own that shit and make our WR group unbelievable. Backload the hell out of it and Stafford's ready for destruction.

I get the dream scenario… but I’m spending on defense and Oline way before that.

I don't think it is likely, granted, given that Kupp is making a mint. But to some extent FA and the draft need to work in conjunction.

So if all the teams are going to be throwing bags of money at Edge and LT options who top their groups, maybe the Rams zag against the current and add a fucking stud in Evans instead, then draft a stud Edge right away and philosphically load up that defense in the draft.

It's time to give the defense some love. They have some young players but they're all mid to late round guys with holes in their game. Maybe it's appropriate to give them some difference makers with long team control.

Evans doesn’t have many contracts left I don’t think he’s taking one with a bunch of money he’ll never see and it’s pretty clear who’s #1&2 anyway. Robinson should be cheaper and more suited to be 3 or 4.

This is an excellent insight; I hadn't looked at it like this before but it makes good sense.

Coach Mac doesn't have to substitute with this package and can run his entire playbook at same time which includes even running the ball!

I get the concept… searching out market inequities is something they’re always looking to do.

But there’s too much on the line, imo, to not get that premium edge.. what’s more… I’d draft another in the third round.

The pass rush is awful. Crank that up and you get more stops AND more turnovers. The Rams are getting the ball on D at a very low rate.

I just think the offense is basically elite right now.. I’d keep as much intact while investing some picks in the line.

Evans paired with Kupp and Nacua? INSANE!

Sign me up to see that!

He just might be... which is too bad because I really like the guy.

It is a good thing the Rams have some big time cap space coming down the pipeline, because in addition to having some holes to fill on the roster still, we are starting to have some key cogs on expiring contracts that are going to take $$$ to retain (Doctson, Robinson - the former in particular is a must re-sign for me, if I was forced to choose between the two, as it's easier to find a WR that fits as a #3 behind Puka and a healthy Kupp than an OLer that can provide high level starting talent at guard).

Pretty sure the Rams can afford to pay a current #3 or 4 WR, ... a 3 year contract where 2024 is backloaded will also see many of our own 2025 free agent losses improve our overall CAP to pay guys like Robinson, Dotson, John Johnson & even Carson Wentz who are in a similar situation this postseason. Backloading new contracts/extensions delays the pain until Donald, Kupp, Stafford begin moving on.

Have you looked at those Edge types in the first round? There's some guys who can instantly impact this defense. FA isn't the only way to fill Edge. It isn't even the best way.

But anyway not gonna argue for Evans because I admit it's unlikely. I do think it's a viable way to go though. Gives McVay his toy prior to the draft then the draft is all about defense.

I’m an absolute on bringing in an established elite edge.
Leading rookie sack guys this year are Turned & Young.
Last year, Hutchinson had 8.

Look at what Von did for this D… what Sweat is doing for the Bears.. and he’s barely “elite.”

It’s just not an option, for me, to not end up with someone like Hunter. And the Rams have shown us they value that… the difference with Hunter is that it will only cost you money, not picks.

I still have faith that Tyler Johnson will get a contract with us after this year, and he can slot in for the number three spot.

Until we trade our entire draft next year for Luther Burden III, please fucking do it, Snead, I will name you a fucking king if you do.

Two different WRs. I let them both get playing time. Robinson is the new favorite. He has made some big plays. Many in the scramble drill. He has solid body control and hands. I'm not sure about his separation ability on scheduled plays.

Tutu has the speed that defenses have to respect. As mentioned he has gotten nice DPI deep calls and some long bombs. He has made some solid catches and missed a few catchable ones. He helps spread the field for other WRs.

At this point, it's DeMarcus Robinson. Get Tutu some snaps because of his deep speed, but Robinson is outplaying him.
