What's the deal, are we using ARob correctly?

I worry that people worry too much. Somebody call somebody....
In this case, i agree with you. Lets give it a little more time. I thought that TD drop was more like a wiff. He wasnt ready for a hi hard one. He will be ready next time.
I remember last year woods wasnt very happy with the number of targets early in the season. I think it is more about Stafford and the Oline than ARob. Under pressure you go with what you know. This week will be his coming out party if the line does their job

In this instant it doesn’t only demonstrate balls not caught but also chemistry with the QB. You gotta look deeper.
Did I not say that? QB and rcvr not on same page maybe? But okay chemistry counts that's technically correct, but it's still not just catch% and just drops.

It's a QB throw in a receiver's general direction, accurate or not, trying to complete it or not. I know it's confusing.

Geez more over reaction. The entire offense is off to a poor start. You could say the same about any number of players on the team. It happens. Better early in the season than late.

Robinson is coming into a new offense. With no preseason he's got to now get his timing down with Stafford. You guys think practice is the same as gameplay. It's not believe me. Just look at Tutu who is struggling to read defensive coverages. Robinson's drop in the end zone is symptomatic of a player thinking his way through the play instead of having 100% of his focus on making the play. It's the same thing rookies go through. Only with a vet it won't take a whole year.

Just like an OL needs time to gel so do a QB and his receivers. Stafford has to KNOW what to expect from Robinson. His comfort level is higher with Kupp and even Benny Sko, especially when he's trying to get his passes out quickly with a new OL in front of him. The problem is as much with Stafford as it is with Robinson. That is something that must be developed over time between the two.

I would love to see Robinson become a 9er slayer in this offense. He has the right stuff to pull that off too.

So I'd be happy with oh idk let's say 6 catches 90 yards and 2 TDs. :horns::startstruck: :horns:

I’ll take 8 targets 5 catches 3 first downs 1TD.

No not confusing. I’m just not assuming that ever missed catch was thrown out of bounds. Aside from long passes Stafford has been pretty accurate. By adding the stats I’m negating the idea that some seem to have that OBJ and Stafford were clicking immediately. They weren’t. That’s all it was.

We traded Woods for a 6th round pick, and paid Robinson pretty much the same contract. No way ARob is better than Woods in this offense after what we've seen. Woods started slow last year, but ARob isnt even on the field. After 4 weeks Robinson is averaging 3 targets a game. THREE FUCKING TARGETS PER GAME.

This Woods trade was one of the worst moves made by this regime thus far. People told me to calm down after last week but my point continues to get driven home emphatically.

Robinson isn't even an effective decoy in this offense thus far. He looks small and slow. Need more from him for sure.

Lets see. Two drops in the end zone last week. Two chances at the 50/50 balls in the end zone he is supposed to feast on this week. Nada.

We're using the entire offense the wrong way, but it's not specifically Robinson related misuse. Its more a general predictability in the running game combines with a reticence to stretch the field. And locking on to Kupp too much on third down, but Kupp converts more often than not, so thats a nitpicky thing at this point.

The ARob conversation pisses me off beyond belief and I've been repeating it for 3 weeks now. The fault is on McVay 100%.

Rams player acquisitions usually work out, but yes, there have no early returns on this investment.

I know he's been stuck on bad offenses and bad QBs his whole career. But it's been 17 straight games, and almost two years, now since he cracked 70 yards in a game.

I think we blame the coaches too much sometimes. And McVay will eat it overall. Him and Snead, for that matter, if Robinson is a flop. But some of it is on the players too.

How do we know he isn't still confused in the offense. His body language is terrible for example. Him thinking while he's running around out there is a possibility. I don't know that it's a scenario where Robinson is being ignored. I think it goes deeper than that, like probably to he's not quite up to snuff but since they paid him that much they're playing him.

Which is also on McVay of course. Dammit I just talked myself into agreeing with you.

Thats fair and I didn't watch the all-22 from last week, but when you look at the Buffalo and Atlanta games he was open A LOT. Like way more than you'd think. So what is it?? I think it's a combination of two things, Stafford just locks onto Kupp most of the time, and many plays Kupp is the primary read while ARob is working a backside concept. Okay so if thats the case a coach has to realize it. He has to make a concentrated effort to make ARob the #1 target in a progression while using Kupp as a decoy. He has to manufacture a touch or two on a screen.

I mean last year Woods complained publicly of not getting enough looks, the next week he had 14 targets. You think that happened organically? Hell no.. McVay and Stafford obviously talked about it and they force fed Woods the next game. Im not saying the same thing has to happen, but a conversation needs to be had and something has to change. I mean we're paying this guy $15M per year and he's a fucking afterthought.

.

This is getting ridiculous. By targeting Kupp almost exclusively Stafford has 4 tds to 6 ints. Horrible.

I wonder what Mcvay would be thinking about him right now if he didn't single handedly win the superbowl exclusively targeting Kupp.

Time to change tactics.

Yall remember when Darnold had the Panthers at 4-0 last season playing great? It's way too early to judge this Arob situation. New team, new coach, new QB, etc. It didn't help that Stafford not only didn't throw during most of the off-season, but zero in the preseason.

Haven’t really watched many games.I’d say I’ve followed & watched them though.

Kolone is in at Center is what makes The Rams who they are as a team. The fact though is that position should have been filled by an All-Pro center.Brian Allen should have been a backup or gone ?

Tutu Atwell I don’t know what to say? If Allen Robinson can’t get plays that work for him.

It starts up front & NOW Snead(really Mcvay) goes out & drafts a guy like Brusssssss. He has never impressed from day 1. Same type of high draft pick that The Rams can’t miss on.

Franklin Myers is a player that comes to mind. B. Hopkins is another.Point being when do you cut ties. J. Harris was a 4th rd pick.

The Rams are in a WORLD of HURT. That is if your talking Kupp & Stafford only.

Funny thing is I see the games. My Girlfriend see’s the games. She really doesn’t know much at all about football, but has a Crazy Eye for it.She see’s more cocks & peniss’s.sss.

Hate that 9er love not having a LA team for years has created to a couple generations.

My Ramble is long, but Mcvay & Snead always find there way.Resources though makes it tough if they miss on players. —Robert Woods wasn’t one of them. Getting rid of him says a little something something though if your like a stat or Fantasy guy.The numbers tells a story & how anyone wants to read into them.

I’ve been a Rams Fan for years & don’t drink the Kool-Aide as much. Still a concentrated amount. This is a new week & the page gets changed.

I’m going to look for the Malcom Brown poster.Talk about Les Snead as a GM & Mcvay as a HC. I love Ram players.

Thee year contact. $46.5 million. $30 million of it guaranteed. I still think ARob works out. It's super early. But if it does not this will be a costly miss.

I’ll just say, we need Van Jefferson back in the worst way. He is our only legitimate deep threat. Not having someone take the top off is really hindering this offense. It’s almost like the drop off we saw when we lost Cooks.
