The Bills took the risk for the chance to win a Super Bowl. I can't blame them and as the Rams did the same with the Stafford trade. You have to wait and see if it will pay off.

I always say the Rams need more help for AD which Miller did. I was disappointed that Miller signed with the Bills leaving AD to do it mostly by himself. Miller has a dead cap hit of 40.175M in 2023 or 20.875M in 2024. The dead money goes as far as 2026. The Rams had a lot of big deals already and it just didn't make sense to match that deal with the money and longevity.

I think Miller talked himself into reasons why he went to Buffalo. Von has said it was about getting Buffalo an SB and him being the first to win three SBs with three different teams. I think it was mostly the money. Had the deal the Rams offered been close to the deal Buffalo offered he would have been a Ram.

In the end, it's a business. Very few players take much lesser guaranteed money to stay with a team when they are free agents. I didn't want to see him get hurt. It is interesting to see if the risk will be worth it for the Bills. In the end, I don't want to see Miller being the SB hero and probably will not want to see then in the SB.

Iirc, we offered slightly more money overall, but a fair bit less guaranteed and that’s what cinched it.

The Rams offer was legit.

That said, I think KC is the cream of the AFC, not the Bills and if it’s a repeat of a few years ago, I think KC handles the 9ers again… as the 9ers have a brand of football that translates well to the playoffs. I don’t trust any NFC East team come playoff time and I dunno if the Vikes or whoever slides in via the NFC South will be there when it matters.

Frankly, I’m ready for this abomination of a season to be over… I’m way over the limit in how much bizarre and strange I can take as it is…

If you are referring to Goff, the guy isn't clutch, except for the one playoff game vs the Saints. I watched STafford being critical in winning three playoffs games in a row. Sure Kupp was huge, but Stafford fed him the ball, even when the defense knew it was coming to him. What they did last year was epic.
Since Dave has passed you’re probably my favorite poster here, even tho you’re a gawd damn ex swabbiee sub mariner :laugh1:so I tread very lightly my friend

I don’t know, he had his clutch moments, my personal favorite was the late in the 4th quarter 3rd long scramble vs Dallas to ice the game, that was exciting, he definitely needs a fairly clean pocket I’ll concede but that doesn’t make him unique to his style of passer

We will obviously never know, but what in an alternate reality Goff had Cooper Kupp is his SB and Matt had Cooks?

i have rewatched SB vs NE so many times, Goff in my opinion actually for a 24-25 year old drop back passer hung in there as well as could be expected, a lot went wrong that game

The Rams gave it a good shot. The Bills offer was much better. It's all about the guaranteed money in today's NFL. As noted the Bills have a lot of dead cap money should Miller get a career-ending injury. Considering his injury history he could also regress considerably with more wear and tear.
