Dollar for dollar not a bad way to go.Just finding a TE that fits & upgrade.Mitchell Evans runs under 4.7 at Notre Dame pro day. 6’5 260
Vastly underrated
If that’s the case, why did they wait to take Kupp? They clearly liked him. He could have been their first pick.Who's desperate? If the player they like is the 50th ranked player, it doesnt matter if others rate other players higher.
We're talking about the Rams draft board and who they want
Not understanding what you are talking about, you answered your own questionIf that’s the case, why did they wait to take Kupp? They clearly liked him. He could have been their first pick.
It’s likely that on the Rams draft board he’s a late second round grade. Is it smart using the 26th pick on a player you think is only worth a 40-50 pick? Trade back and get some picks. Why give up the capital?
If they give a player a third round grade, they don’t pick him at 26.Not understanding what you are talking about, you answered your own question
They clearly liked Everett more, or had him higher on their list, or drafted for need yadda yadda they traded back and still got him.
Kupp was the 2nd player they drafted they drafted that year, and he was rated as a mid round pick, So they drafted him ahead of where some folks had him rated.
I dont know what is so complicated about this, if they pick at 26 it will be for a player they want, who they dont think will be available when they pick again in the 3rd round.
Because its not trueIf they give a player a third round grade, they don’t pick him at 26.
Why is that hard to understand?
What is so hard to understand that the player they take an 26 is somebody they think is a value and fit at that pick. This utter crap about only 12 players worth a 1st round pick has gotten so over blown and misinterpreted. If they give a player a third round grade, they don’t pick him at 26.
Why is that hard to understand?
Especially coming from the Rams who have coined the phrase Eff them Picks. When did 1st round picks become so valuable to them? What is so hard to understand that the player they take an 26 is somebody they think is a value and fit at that pick. This utter crap about only 12 players worth a 1st round pick has gotten so over blown and misinterpreted.
I have no idea what you are talking about. So, hypothetically if the first player the Rams like is someone that they, themselves is a third round value, they should still pick him in round 1? They shouldn’t try to trade back, or trade their first round pick for a pick next year? They shouldn’t try just pick him at 26? That would be lazy and wasteful.Because its not true
If they keep the pick, they will pick the player who they want even if other folks rate the player at a 3rd round grade. Just like Kupp was.
This is a silly conversation, the Rams, just like many other teams draft players ahead of what the "experts" project
A quick perusal of this and it appears that the issue is that the bolded part of your statement appears to have been ignored.Because its not true

This is comical.I have no idea what you are talking about. The issue is, people are talking past one another. Elm referenced the Rams board and in response Dieter referenced experts boards. They're discussing two different things. There would probably be agreement if everyone was on the same page about which board.A quick perusal of this and it appears that the issue is that the bolded part of your statement appears to have been ignored.
You are exactly correct. There are 32 different teams with 32 different draft boards and the Rams will go by their own draft board as they have no access to the others or should even care about the draftnik media boards created by folks that may not even have a fraction of the information that they do.
But isn't that a silly question when dieter originally referenced the Rams draft board? The issue is, people are talking past one another. Elm referenced the Rams board and in response Dieter referenced experts boards. They're discussing two different things. There would probably be agreement if everyone was on the same page about which board.
You're right: the Rams will go by their board. An example is Fiske last year. They gave up a lot for him because they had a 1st round grade on him despite him being ranked 46th on the consensus board.
The question is, what do the Rams do when they have pick 26, a player they like rated 50th on their board, and no other pick until 90?
LolThe issue is, people are talking past one another. Elm referenced the Rams board and in response Dieter referenced experts boards.
Only if each draft is the same every year and the NFL teams who have all the information and providing this take to draftnik media don't have know what they are talking about. Or most of the draftnik media has decided to render the exact same mis-information.What is so hard to understand that the player they take an 26 is somebody they think is a value and fit at that pick. This utter crap about only 12 players worth a 1st round pick has gotten so over blown and misinterpreted.
This question is what started the whole subthread (before Dieter was involved) when some thought you were saying that the Rams should draft Taylor at 26 even if he was ranked at 50 since they wouldn't pick again until 90. The argument was that they should trade down. When I stated the opinion that they should trade down in such a scenario, my assumption was that we were all talking about the Rams board. But isn't that a silly question when dieter originally referenced the Rams draft board?
