An interesting stat from Tice - he said the Rams are 31st in the league against teams that use two backs or a blocking fullback.

I was trying to recall who they played that use two backs or a fullback. Detroit did, but their Oline is the best in the league and it was the first game for the Rams young defense, and it went to OT.

Were there other teams the Rams faced that used two backs?

It’s going to be a steady diet of screens, slants, and go routes for Miami. And they are gonna try and get Achane on the edge and in space.

Thanks. They don’t do it as much as the Lions did though, did they?
Historically, they use two backs a lot, and lots of misdirection. But they might not have done it as much with McCaffrey being out. It may be a small sample size but the Lions ran all over us in OT.

I listened to Nate Tice. He said that’s exactly what they did last week. They got the ball out quickly and relied on the playmakers speed to get yards.

I’m sure this is in part to protect Tua. Sure individual tackling be important against Miami. That and clog up the middle of the field to take away crossers.
Which means ILB getting enough drop on passing plays....Rozeboom is dinged up so should see plenty of Speights.

This would be a classic trap game after the last two games we've had. Coming off emotionally charged wins to then play a struggling team that has game changing talent in a couple of positions. I am optimistic with this team but we have to kill teams like the Dolphins to make the bigger push. With the NFC west left to play again along with games against Eagles and Bills we can't afford to lose games we should win. We used up all of those chips before the bye. The last two wins have been momentum building successes. Now we need a statement game.
This game is going to be a problem. This team is 8th in Defense in total yard( yes 1 game less than most) and now are getting healthy. They maybe are last in scoring but dont let that fool you. They are a Different team with Tua out there. As stated here, this is a trap game from a team that "should" be a playoff team. Waddle and Hill are going to be a problem. Tua will throw fast and not care and is pretty accurate most of the time.

Hill is questionable with a wrist injury, but prob will go.

I would say the same thing about next week Vs Pats too, being a trap game. Scrappy defence for them

Let's kick some major ass tonight LA Rams. I've had these since 1990.

Rams secondary has let several teams WR's amass over 100 yds receiving. Lots of big plays given up by secondary this season.

yes this will be a tough test - their defense looks better on paper than ours, but they have also played 3 or 4 pretty bad offensive teams.

I'm sure he will play, but, you have to think, what happens the first time he lands on his wrist or gets it hit?

This game is very concerning to me. Tua gets the ball out as fast as anyone in the league. Our defense is based on the pressure we create up front. If we have to rely on the secondary all game, we could be in for a long night. Hoping our offense is dialed in, as I assume we are going to have to score 24+ points to be in this game. Big game from Kyren would do a lot for us tonight.

If our offense shows up early we’ll be fine. If they come out sluggish and can’t establish any kind of rhythm it’ll be yet another uphill battle and asking too much from our D.

Every game this year is about our offense IMO. It should be the strength of the team. It should be a near-elite unit. Injuries wrecked that early but now it’s getting healthy so no excuses.

Win early and score often, either pounding the run or Stafford slinging it….the Rams O is built to score in different ways at full strength.

3 and outs, red zone FG’s, getting stuffed on 3rd and short…our defense isn’t good enough to sustain or compliment that kind of production from our offense.

It’s time to put fear into opposing defenses and start rolling on all cylinders.

I agree. I am having PTSD of the soft cover D we'd play against QBs getting the ball out quickly.

I'd rather play tight, rush hard (thankless work since you don't get sacks often), get off the field quickly while absorbing a handful of lucky beats one-on-one. Especially when we have tools back on offense. Playing soft on D, takes time off the clock, wears out our D and keeps our O off the field. Makes little sense to me.

Gonna lay here in bed all day and watch old black and white war films on TCM. Then get up and deep fry some cod and fries for the game. Already got plenty of beer and snacks. Party time MNF.
