You never know. He started 5 regular season games. One team with a winning record. Barely. The Seahawks were 9-8. He played well in most his games. Especially the playoff game with the Seahawks. But teams he beat were the Raiders, Cardinals and Commodes. He didn't do much against the Cowboys. The defense won that one with Dak pulling his usual choke job.

He was more of a game manager with all star skill players to hand off or throw to. Like Jimmy GQ mostly quick outs, screens, slants, etc. They caught a break early on with the league giving them an easy schedule the first few games. So I imagine the Purdy lovers will be gushing all over him the first month. We'll see how it goes when they start playing tougher teams.

Wow that was a fast fall - from elite franchise QB to back half draft pick

If/when Mr. Irrelevant becomes irrelevant again, the niners #1 will be Sam Darnold, who will be (if he gets a start) #7 on your list of QBs who've started in SF for Shanahan.

Shanahan has had 6 different starters at QB in 6 years. Hoyer (6 GS), Beathard (12 GS), Garappolo (55), Mullens (16), Lance (4) and Purdy (5). The only guy who played a full season was JG (once). I've heard it said, "if Shanahan ever gets the right QB, look out!" On the other hand, it's been 6 freaking years and now he's going with Mr. Irrelevant for year 7. What are the odds, this is the right QB?

Not that I would ever root for the Cowboys, but I'd LMAO if Lance's career rebounded in Dallas and he became a quality starter.

So imagine a scenario where Lance takes the reins of Cowboys QB this season and leads the Cowboys to a win over the 69ers in the NFCCG. For once I’d be rooting hard for the Boys.

I honestly believe he's a clone of Jimmy G. Decent QB and with a really good defense and a running game, can win a lot of games.

Not sure what happens if he needs to put the team on his shoulders to win the game though.
