I 100% agree. Consistently, throughout the year, the offense was a worse performing unit than the defense.

I’ll add to how Young The Rams team was in 2024. IMO having a veteran like Reeder helps in keeping tradition of doing things The Rams way.

Rams fans react to Troy Reeder signing with overwhelming disappointment

Cameron DaSilva
Rams Wire

No matter how many times Troy Reeder hits the free-agent market, he always seems to make his way back to Los Angeles – whether with the Rams or the Chargers. He signed one-year deals with the Rams in each of the last two years and on Thursday, Los Angeles brought him back once again.

He agreed to another one-year contract with the Rams, re-joining the team he started his career with in 2019. Reeder played just six games last season before landing on IR with a hamstring issue, missing the remainder of the campaign.

When news broke of his return Thursday, it was met with overwhelmingly negative reactions from fans on social media. Needless to say, they aren’t excited to have Reeder back in a Rams uniform despite the fact that he’s a former starter.

The reaction stems from Reeder’s struggles throughout his tenure in L.A., from missed tackles to lapses in coverage. Yet, the Rams see value in having him on the roster.

Here are some of the reactions on Twitter.

That chill was not for you, Corbin, it was for those rude fans.
I’m surprised and a little disappointed at the signing, sure, but Reeder is “decorated” and the staff wants him back for a reason.

Just exactly how many Rams are going into camp with a ring? That still counts for something. Anybody who has ever been on a championship team knows what I’m talking about. Reeder has value even if he never gets on the field (which is ok).

100%.

Verse the beginning of 8 games of the season was absolutely horrendous tackling. He probably could do had 4 more sacks if he was trying to take the dudes head off at full speed.

Tackling was a huge issue, out of all positions I nitpick it’s the LB/RB positions because those are what I’m intimately familiar with playing sports throughout my life and college. (Which doesn’t mean shit and I'm the football bible lol)

It pained to watch their asses last year and the year before with AD gone which covered up most of their BS and lack of ability. I was appalled by the amount of people last year saying the combo of Rozeboom/Reeder was sufficient, made excuses for things that was for sure within their wheelhouse, and another part of that is their horrible tackling to boot.

I full heartedly feel we are going to be targeting LB this draft and Reeder is a safety net, but it’s going to be at the end of the draft. Cody, Simon, Jack Kiser, Teddye Buchanan, Jamon Dumas-Johnson, Jay Higgins, Jefferey Limdenberg, Aaron Smith, Jackson Woodard seem to be more in the wheelhouse of how we draft look at talent in the ILB room.

At the very least we need another ILB to pair Speights that is more a coverage LB like Kiser, Bassa, Buchanan that would significantly increase the chances of getting the ball back to our offense and not blowing third downs to get our defense off the field.
Almost nothing would surprise me with McSnead. Our 2nd year DC may also have some influence here. I suspect you’re right but stranger things - yeah?

Why not? If the deal is cheap…
The Rams run with 3 Tackles. Havs isn’t gonna make 17+ starts and AJ has missed his share of games too.
We need 3 Tackles - absolutely right. I would just rather have anyone else.

His blitzing ability alone might mean he gets into the line up at more than ST. Still, watching him totally read the play, knife in, and then miss the tackle was REALLY painful to watch.

But he was Johnny on the spot a lot of times. He just REALLY needs to wrap up instead of flailing at the ball carrier.

You’re drunk, go home. And no, he didn’t help us win. He missed a ton of tackles and was a HUGE LIABILITY. He is a huge liability.
Everyone remembers him getting dragged around by dweebo, but they don’t remember the journey to get the Lombardi. Reeder made his share of plays during the season to help get there. He carried his weight and earned a ring. He’s not gonna win any awards or be a fan favorite, but he did what he could do.

Having said all that, I don’t think he’s a starter on this defense. The Rams HAVE to improve in that area.

The Lombardi was achieved in 2021. It’s 2025. We saw Reeders ceiling in his 2024 performance. Reeders floor would not be a pretty thing to watch.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not advocating letting Reeder start. I was just responding to the absolute vitriol people have towards Reeder like he was just always god-awful. He wasn’t. He wasn’t great either.
…but the guy did his part to help the Rams win a title and that should count for something—just not a starting job!

Articles like this show how news sites have hit the bottom of the barrel. Scraping up dregs from the floor.

Some intern reading social media and making an article from the posts of random bozos. Pathetic.

Of course you DUNNO - it’s like a doodoo bird just squawking.

That’s such a farce, but believe what you want to believe. We both aren’t sure who The Rams will draft early or late.
-In fact there not totally sure what they will do on draft day.Like I stated though,he will be a core special teams player at the least.
A farce is thinking Reeder is a capable linebacker. JAG in every sense.

It's over. The season will be nothing but disappointment after disappointment. They will bring us to the brink of victory and then snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
I usually watch every Ram game every year since '90 and as many games as possible since the early 1970s.
But this year I won't be able to stand the pain.
What am I?
Self-destructive and enjoying pain and misery? No...
I won't be able to watch the Rams this year
I'm sorry my Rams boys.
I won't be able to stand the pain of watching the misery,
because they re-signed.......
............ Troy Reeder
I see what you did there.

But some on here are lost without blue font.

Satire? Huh? What? Where...?

Yeah. But once again he’s a JOG - Just Our Guy. I also hope he’s not going to be a starter but he can be pretty decent in limited situations. Let’s hope we make him an afterthought or somehow makes ALL very wrong about him.

Oh stop with the "he has a ring" nonsense.
The ring was because of Stafford, Kupp, OBJ, Whitworth, Donald, Von Miller, Ramsey, etc.
Reeder was just along for the ride. We won in spite of him being on the team.

NO DOUBT!! He got CUT from the Chargers & Staley.

He adds depth, but he worked hard to get himself healthy for a playoff & Superbowl run in case someone got hurt.

Those other Ram LBers stepped up & played well enough to get contracts elsewhere!!

What Troy Reeder brings is EXPERIENCE (Green Mic) of Shula’s Defense!!! He knows the system well. PLUS he can play TEAMS !!

As a MLB barley a JAG ,but he is a Mentor,Leader & a Shula Guy..He also adds depth, besides making that LBer room better.

WTF is WRONG w/ all YOU HATERS!
Are you really RAM FANS ! I’ll scratch my footballs & let you think about it.
