Anyone want care to decipher...Mcvay is good but it does sound like that ship has sailed. If he stays it's cause Mcvay will be demanding it.

My guess is that the Rams offered him a deal early that factored in the potential that he barely played in 2022. OBJ felt this was an insult because a player never factors in the chances that they are worthless. It sounds like the Rams are ready to provide an improved offer as soon as OBJ shows he is ready to return at a comparable level

I agree though his last tweet posturing or not seemed almost like a goodbye

Gotta remember, OBJ was always sort of a diva WR. He's just not the super crazy kind a la Antonio Brown lol

I knew (OF) OBJ, to the extent everyone else did - one hand grab, orange Rolls etc., but honestly had no idea how fucking good he was till he joined the Rams last year.
Lots to agree with in all the above posts, pro and con. I'm praying we find a way to get/keep him, with some kind of out for if/when he reinjures himself.
That said, we DID win the SB without him for the most part (even though he did a ton for the time he was in).
Tough, tough call.

But man, he is SO good...:sunglasses:
We didn’t win the SB without him. Not at all. Edit: But I get at what you are saying!!

I don’t respect whiners or complaining via social media. But I know OBJ is a different dude (Still have no idea why he consoled Dumbo last year after the NFC championship. Fuck that 69er POS). To me this is a sign he wants to lock and load now on the biggest contract he can get. And that won’t be the Rams so better pull out Plan B.

If OBJ wants full season pay for a few games + playoff run, he can sign somewhere else. Love what he brings to the team when he is on the field, dont care for the public negotiations.

If Robinson had played to expectations then the OBJ talk is less relevant.
At this moment in time, and going forwards, I don't see OBJ being the one man army to turn this lull around.

In case some of you guys didn't notice, these tweets with OBJ are with our very own long-time ROD member @JKBOGEN. He's Jake Ellenbogen.

Lets be real. If he signs with us the earliest he'll be available is mid to late November. It'll probably take a few games to get his playing legs back. If we don't fix the offensive line problem we'll be out of playoff contention by then.

He literally blew out his knee on a non contact play (doubt it happens if the throw wasn’t behind him, but still)

Not sure how you can go all in on this guy

I'm at a point where I won't lose any sleep if he signs elsewhere. If we do sign him, I'd want it to be a deal that locks him up through 2024. That would allow us to know that we'd have a Kupp/OBJ tandem for the end of this season and the next two. I don't think we should be in "rental" mode at this point.

Only reason why I have hope about him coming back strong is that they said they were going to have to repair that knee anyways. The CLE DOctor did a poor job. They said it was a blessing that it was a clean tear.

This is confirmation of what I've heard for a long time and even posted as such. He wants a full blown multi-year contract with no offset for a partial year due to injury. He got his ring so now he doesn't care. This guy is injury prone he's had 17 INJURIES SINCE 20112 so fuck you OBJ any team willing to pay him big money on a multi-year contract would be foolish. Why do you think no one has signed him? Insulting contract offer? His contract demands are insulting.

McCutcheon or Harris can fill that role. Hell if Tutu gets his head on straight so can he.

So, if someone gets a multi-year contract, then is injured and misses a year, or more - who pays for the inury time? Is that some sort of insurance pool, or the club is out the dough, just as if that person were an active player?

I guess somewhere in there, is the distintion of bonus payments, versus "regular" payments that one would get for being on the roster???

I could explain how this worked in my career.... but we are swiming in different pools here... :woozy2: :woozy2:
