I don't think that's the case. I think it's his love for the Rams, Stafford is back and the Rams have been patient with him with his suspensions and leave of absence for personal reasons.
He's repaying them in a way by taking less than he likely would've gotten in the open market.
And not to mention LA's doctors helped him with his blood clot issues, if I'm not mistaken.
A-Jax had every reason to go on the market. He was the top left tackle there. He took a lot less than he could've gotten on a three-year deal, so I do believe it was his decision, and I also believe it was because he liked the team, how they've treated him, and the direction they're going in.
