I don't think that's the case. I think it's his love for the Rams, Stafford is back and the Rams have been patient with him with his suspensions and leave of absence for personal reasons.

He's repaying them in a way by taking less than he likely would've gotten in the open market.

And not to mention LA's doctors helped him with his blood clot issues, if I'm not mistaken.

A-Jax had every reason to go on the market. He was the top left tackle there. He took a lot less than he could've gotten on a three-year deal, so I do believe it was his decision, and I also believe it was because he liked the team, how they've treated him, and the direction they're going in.

And I'm ecstatic that I watched him commit to Iowa live online, play his whole career at Iowa and now as a Ram..

Love my Hawkeyes on the Rams :sunglasses:

Can't it be both?

I notice a lot of thinking on this board is only contained to either/or paradigms and not this/and??

Why must this board only think in either/or and not this/and??
Well it can be both, but I'm just discussing what I believe the possibility is. Obviously I don't know for sure.

Probably be a mix of a lot.

No there were people saying don't risk it franchise tag him we're going to pay him that much or more anyways.

How do you know he was willing to sign a contract extension last year?
I don’t. I’m just replying to the hypothetical that he and his camp would be open to it. I think he did his best play as did the Rams. But assuming that we COULD have worked out a more long time deal, did it work in our favor?

I say yes because he was largely an unknown entity. He made it through and now we had to pay him. He proved out when many (including myself) wondered if he’d hold up through an entire season. He did aside from the suspension. Now we KINDA know what we have.

I’m still soft on the contract but hope he’s put his issues behind him. Lord knows that’s a tough position to fill and it doesn’t look like we’d do better in the draft or FA.

I have a hard time thinking they keep him given that they have Davis in the wings and a stellar crop of run stuffing DTs available late in this draft.
Tyler Davis has been more impressive than me.

I like BB, but seems like he gets moved too easy at times for his size. Tyler Davis seems to have the juice BB doesn't always have.

Nice to see you still dont get it. Alas, its a day to be happy about the team
So what happens with Johan Jackson now ?? The Alaric Jackson contract is done now,so there is that win win!!

I still don’t get it,but 5 years $100 million?? I think I was sort of spot on on his contract,& it probably works out close to the same ? $50 million.

I'd like BB a lot more if he'd play well out the gate and then sustain it, vice turning it on down the stretch. Davis did some good things too, hope he keeps working because if BB walks in FA then I imagine Davis gets a shot at replacing him. Though with this class the Rams probably will add more depth with great value per round.

SIZE does matter.I like BB as well, but it’s all about what his value is ???

IMO Whiterspoon is going to get resigned to a nice contract. He showed his worth & Mcvay owes him.

Didn’t Davis play DE on certain downs ?? He has a good motor & energy.

Davis is a promising player, but I don't see him as a Brown replacement. He's only 6'2" 301. We need a bigger body. Fortunately, there are a lot of promising run stuffers in the middle rounds of this draft.
