Caught one of those Fox Sports 1 shows this afternoon and they were beating the Stafford drum too.

Did they mention the salary cap implications to the Rams?
Or for the Jets?
Imagine carrying the contracts for BOTH Stafford and Rodgers in 2024? Staff has 41 mill guaranteed already for 24/25, Rodgers will have almost 70 mill in dead cap in 2024

If he got back to throwing picks NYJ fans would be sending him death threats.
Nah, they loved Fitzpatrick even though he threw a boat load of INT, because he also threw TD passes. With that D the mistakes arent magnified like they are on a team who cant score

Oh, I agree. I'm just thinking about my team.

Earlier today, I posted my frustration with any media commentator or report suggesting a trade involving a top-player who has recently signed a big-$-contract that does not at least mention the cap implications.

Even if these arrogant fuckers just said ... 'I don't know the cap implications but ...'

It's just @Loyal ... I mean Lazy and Stupid.

Of course they don't talk about that. Understanding financial implications of these moves is way to complicated for these overpaid sports reporters (who make 5-10+ $M a year). They are completely lazy in their reporting and are the same people who step in a pile dogshit outside, go inside, and then ask the room why it smells like shit in here. They don't know a damn thing their teleprompter doesn't tell them which makes one wonder, who controls the teleprompter?

If true, that would certainly be relevant. However, I also think the Jets will try to win with Defense, running the ball and Special Teams; while minimizing turnovers. That’s why some options being discussed, don’t seem like a good fit to me.

Agree. Some suggested options don’t seem like a good match. They need a vet game manager—almost like they had in flacco.
How about andy dalton? He’s not starting anywhere.
At the very least, someone who can get the ball downfield to their receivers. How about the raider who replaced carr down the stretch last season?

Too bad baker mayfield already signed with the bucs and won the opener. He would be a great fit.

Couldn't have said it better ... or more creatively.

Phillip Rivers was staying in shape last year. I wonder what he’s up to.

Brady could easily jump in.

Sorry, but this is crazily false.
Well, at least the vast majority of fans couldn't give 2 shits about the Giants, Jets, Yankees, Mets, Rangers, Islanders, Nets or Knicks. Or perhaps you live in the NY area and actually thinks the world centers around you, that's my guess. Had a Billy Baroo putter once, it was a piece of shit and discarded it like trash.

Ok fine. Stafford for a couple firsts, some pass rushers and….Aaron Rodgers. The salary cap numbers explode over the phone. Both GM’s suffer minor injuries.

I got to disagree here; and remember, just yesterday, I was very complementary about another of your posts.

For some NFL fans, Rodgers on the Jets was about much more than Rodgers, the Jets and New York.

It was a major 2023 NFL story, and was very interesting in my opinion.

I wanted to see Rodgers against Belichick twice this year. I wanted to see how the loaded-AFC would play-out with great you QB talents like Mahomes, Burrow, Allen, Jackson, Herbert, Lawrence and others against the great old veteran.

Especially being a Rams' fan where I root against every NFC team, the AFC was (still can be ... just a little less) going to be a great-watch as a fan of the NFL.

This was a huge loss for Rodgers, the Jets, their fans and NYC. However, it was also a big loss for the NFL.

Have you watched or at least partially watched "Get Up" the last 4 months? I have and every damn show it's Greenberg doing a podcast discussing "his" Jets, every damn show! As soon as he's done with his Jets coverage then the next subject EVERY show is Dak and the Cowboys. That's what I was trying to get across. The entire 2 hour episode yesterday was only about the Jets and Rodgers, the WHOLE show. It's one thing to have a bias towards your team but he has taken it to a whole new level as his show is meant for the entire country, not just New Yorkers. He has ignored almost every team in his quest for Jets relativity and there are many stories I would like to see reported on. As far as Rodgers goes, fuck him. 11-10 post season record, 1 Super Bowl appearance in his 15 years as a starter, and that was over 10 years ago. He has undeservedly won 4 MVPs because for some insane reason the media drools over him. How many 12 and 13 win seasons has he had while failing to even go to another Super Bowl? You may disagree with me or not not, it's not my job to convince you, but there are many more interesting football stories that do revolve around NY. Even when the Rams beat the 49'ers this week and show the league they are back every damn show next week will be about how the Jets would have beat the Cowboys if they only had Rodgers.

So, why would Stafford even WANT to goto that team??? He has a FAR better chance at getting to the playoffs in the NFC.

Also, that Jets OL would get him killed quick. He saw enough of that shit last year.

Geez what makes any think that the Rams don't want to make the playoffs this year? It's not like they even have a QB behind him. Things like this show you how really stupid the talking heads are.

That's a pretty strong post about Get Up, and its focus on limited NFL topics. Many good points. I mostly agree.

However, I did not post anything about Get Up.

All I posted was that Aaron Rodgers to the Jets was one of the top 2023 NFL story-lines.

Do you really think 'there are many more interesting football stories that revolve around NY'. Like what?

The only other two points I would make are that no one is trying to 'convince' any one. Just sharing opinions; and, if the Rams defeat the Niners on Sunday, I think that WILL BE a major story on Monday (and man, that would be Great!). Again, not trying to convince you just responding to your opinion, with my opinion

Testy. I hate to break it to you - it ain’t the club. Putting is a thinking man’s game, thus your struggles. I could give you a lesson if you’re ever in Jersey. ;)
