All of these teams are professional with college and pro personnel departments. None of these players are under the radar. IMO, teams don't need the media to talk about a player to know about a player.
I'm just saying there were probably other teams that were interested in signing lampkin to a udfa contract or maybe they were on the fence and the Rams either outbid or got to him first
Then they saw him in that preseason game and saw all that tape of the pancake session.
You can make all sorts of reasons NOT to sign Lampkin, like he's too small or he's playing at a college level but seeing is believing and I think we're going to see more this preseason. :)

Got it. I largely agree.

Never mind all my posts about Lampkin at fullback: I wouldn't mind him and Limmer competing for the starting center job in the future.

He looked like a hungry animal out there that was craving some flapjacks.
It was interesting how all of the pancake blocks looked fairly similar in that he got low and got a hold of them below the waist and just lifted them up to take them off their feet.
An old wrestling move for sure.
But some of those guys were 300 something pounds. :)

I guess that's why he's got the nickname "I-Hop". :D

... or LeFleur is praising Dedich to make him seem more attractive to other teams while deliberately downplaying Lampkin who they really want to retain more. Isn't this a common McSnead tactic?
what would be an example of this

One of the guys Willie mauled in the Cowboy game was former UCLA NT Jay Toia who the Cowboys expect to get meaningful snaps this year and outweighs Willie by 60 lbs. Willie put him on skates and literally shoved him into Orange County. I think they like Lampkin more than they lead on.

Well The Rams have had a few players over the years who have been undersized.

The player that comes to mind mostly is The Rams LG in 1999-2000 plus.He played Center I believe with Warner back in the day winning the EURU-CUP with Amsterdam !
Keep thinking Nutten ?

Lampkins was playing LG,SO we’ll probably see him playing a little LG against the Chargers next to Beaux Limmer ? Dedich at RG ??
Then again I actually like the Big Boy who started at LG against the Cowboys as good SO far.
-These next 2 preseason games should give a better picture.

I just luv it when the GREAT Brian B. talks about our young Rams. He gets it, so does Lampkin. You can see it when he gives up a little space, just a little bit and uses that tiny bit of momentum against D linemen. Its a sucker move, they take the space and Lampkin uses all that available torque (car guy here) to get them off balance a little bit, then get them on their tippy toes, and its all OVER. Gets under them while they are extended and rips and flips....... and they are picking themselves off the ground wondering what happened.

In case anyone was wondering if he was flying under the radar of the league. If he continues to impress, I can’t see any way we try to “hide” him on the PS.
Not anymore no.
Now it more a matter of who's job did he take

After re-watching some Omarion Hampton highlights, I'm wondering if Hampton has used some of his 1st round money to buy Lampkin something really nice.:sunglasses:
