I’m going to read between the lines and say Lampkin is still in running for 53 man roster but initially on IR.
Which is better for The Rams.

I’m curious if The Rams keep 12 O”Lineman on the 53 originally? That’s how much depth they have.

SAD if these guys can’t grow as Rams. The Rams a stacked at center.

Better than some assumptions being thrown around after the game.
Watching the game,it was like that is good for The Rams. You never wish injuries any player.
There is going to be some tough cuts.Watching Dedich & Limmer switching from C & G shows there diversity.Lampkins been the backup to them, plus Wyatt Bowles is another UDRFA who has been starting as well.Obviously The Rams like these guys just as much, unless they’ve been trying to hide him ?

Well, this could provide the answer we’ve all wanted in regards to his status at cut downs. Seems IR month be the most likely result, for now at least.
You don't cut a lineman who played like he played at center. He made the team with that outing and will probably be our backup injury willing. And I think sliding Limmer over had a lot to do with how much they liked what they were seeing from Lampkin early in camp.

Wait, the thought here is that Lampkin is the number 2 center behind Shelton?

My thought is that the staff liked him for that role. Yes. I'm just looking at the bread crumbs here. Limmer could have used early snaps to reinforce what he learned last year but his ass was moved over to work on his guard game. I don't know why they did that. But then Lampkin goes in the game and is putting on a clinic, and I'm not a believer in coincidences. So let's call it my current theory.

And btw my expectation going into camp was that Lampkin would understudy to Shelton. I didn't expect things to go down like they did. So since that time I've been kicking around theories on why. Because last game they had Limmer back there didn't they? Or did I imagine it.

And it’s no real dig at Limmer. Some people have skills that are different than others. Limmer is a ridiculously strong dude. Lampkin seems to have leverage and smarts as his tools. I don’t know who they view as a better fit. But it does seem the staff is a little lower on Limmer right now. Was it the Beagles game? Was it him not being able to do line calls? I don’t think any of us know. For my mind, if Lampkin is beating out Limmer, it’s kind of a good thing. Limmer held his own for most of the season last year. If Lampkins is better …. Bonus. Of course this depends on his injury.

They use iol at multiple positions every year even without one of them being the blessed fullback.
