Every year multiple times a round we see evidence that teams/gm/coaches like or dislike players more than fans and pundits. And somehow we fans still get upset and can't believe that this happens. Is Simpson one of the many this draft? I can think of at least a dozen that I dislike that will likely go higher than I think they should.

It's a fun time of year.
No WAY!!!

Or....if he really is liked that much by NFL scouts & teams and they think he's a solid enough franchise QB1, Les is the one who takes him at #13 :wow2:
Well if we take him at 13 I will shake my head in disgust. Then I'll get excited to watch him make preseason entertaining. :laugh2:

Hahaha -- 100% same.
Like when we drafted Bennett. I was immediately pissed and got on the treadmill to release some anger/annoyance. Then began the reconciliation process on welcoming him as a Ram and hoping for the best.

Whole lotta that talk in here

Even in here

Join the fun

Simpson will be an Arizona Cardinal by the end of the 1st round after a trade up into the bottom of round one.

I'm not into predictions, but I'll go on record to state I think he goes in the top 15. We all want to knit pick at the faults, but the NFL qualities we all come to appreciate he has in spades outside of the missile arm and prototypical size. Guys like this make it.

And no, I don't worry about mobility when it comes to McVay (see Stafford, Matthew).

We got some serious Simpson fans lurking round here.

Trying to decide if they should be called Simpsonites or Simps.
It's too funny. I wouldn't be upset if we take him at 13 but I'm not pushing for it and I don't think he's nearly as bad or even mediocre as some say he is.

I'm not going to argue any dirtbag whiner player is better than a former Ram, BUT Bulger was very streaky. I have sat there live and watch him be unable to hit the broadside of a barn then throw an absolute dime. Unfortunately, I watched him miss way too much for my liking and if he was off, he was off generally for the entire game. He was also a bit like early Goff. You rattle him even a little bit and he was done. Part of that might have been on Martz's propensity to get his QBs killed but I was just never a Bulger fan.
I always KNEW you were a Bulger lover.

It's simply the question of which guy is he. The one who started the early portion of one season. Or the one who sat the bench the rest of his career and then tailed off vs tougher competition.

My sole issue with Simpson is the idea of taking him in the first round. I think all told, with everything considered, he's a midround value. But as with any QB if they can sustain as a starter at this level they are worth a first round pick. They are that important. So we'll see how he does in the league.

Whether a team takes him round 1 isn't the judgment. Rather it will be whether he can sustain as a starter.

At this time, I'm feeling forget Simpson and deal with getting a QB next year through draft/trade/FA. If Freeling is there at 13 try a trade back to around 20 or so and get Freeling there, pick up another late 1st or early 2nd from the trade and go WR or ILB Rodriguez. I think an ILB upgrade would exponentially upgrade the defense making the defense stout at all three levels.
