Dramatic improvement for Winn this year, he looked decent under the circumstances.

Maybe, but he's not a big hitter and he hasn't had an interception in his last 4 seasons.
You mean he's not drawing penalty flags and hurting his team with big nasty hits? Clearly he's good for the Rams were should cut or trade him though?
I don't know what the Rams will do but you giving those 2 reasons to cut a box safety is amazing.
I have a general question that is not just related to Curl or the safety position.
In a year when we expect to be a strong SB contender, what would be the purpose of trading away depth? It's a game of attrition. Many times the last team standing had adequate depth to survive unexpected injuries. Every year we moan about lack of depth but as soon as we have great depth, there are a ton of suggestions to trade it.
I'm baffled.
It's amazing to me that you took asking whether or not he is safe to this response. I didn't think that I provided reasons to cut him. I just offered differences between him and the others. That said, I'm also not so sure that McCollough (who is supposedly set for some snaps in dime sets) isn't better.
Anyway, being physical doesn't automatically mean penalty flags and can be an asset for a box safety (which I don't believe that he was limited to being the last few years).
IMO, if a team considers themselves extremely deep at one position to where they have to simply release someone who they believe can really play a role at said position, it makes all the sense in the world to consider moving some of that depth if a position with less depth can be helped in the transaction via personnel or cap savings.

Probably not a popular opinion, but I'd like to the see the Rams bring in Jadeveon Clowney to serve as the #3 OLB, dropping Stewart to #4 and then perhaps placing Hampton and/or Jackson on the practice squad.

Your two criticisms of him are what I replied to. Your comments not me twisting them or putting words in your mouth.
He absolutely is physical we've all seen him being so. And he's a good tackler and usually in the right spot though that can be a problem with everybody on our D at times.
Extremely deep is the key phrase. I'd define extremely deep as being 6 deep, like Washington at RB, who just traded one. We're deep overall, but I wouldn't say we're extremely deep at any position.

Now show me where I said anything about cutting him. Or where I was providing reasons that I believed he should be cut. I simply asked if he could be trade bait. And my criticisms were in comparison to other players currently on the roster and his lack of turnovers forced.
And no, while he may be a good tackler (especially from the knees on down), he's not very physical.

Upon further review, I'm not so sure it even has be extremely deep. Just deep enough where you have to cut a talented player because of roster math.
ie. If the plan is to keep 4 players at a position and the team has 5 players at the position, they are deep enough to attempt to make a move instead of just waiving/releasing someone for no compensation at all.

The Rams have there 67 !! Those players aren’t going to be a part of it. What The Rams showed was that in there system they support there players & create solid relationships with.
McAllister is a player who always worked hard & put in extra work.
Saw Hoecht take to him which was Kool.Those experiences as times as genres Rams FANS are gone.
Hoecht was a solid mentor to Jared Verse & B.Young sort of seen in The Grind last season.B.Jackson might be in that group ?
