I was looking at lost fumbles which is what you referred to initially - Stafford has 2 fumbles lost (6 fumbles overal), That is moving the goal post lol. Comparing a Quarterbacks fumbles to a running back is assnine anyway.

I like how you are talking out both sides of your ass. Telling me we dont care so much about QB turnovers than comparing kyrens turnovers to a Quarterback. Your entire argument is a comparison to Stafford.

I heard on the radio today about how Bo Nix is playing well because he has only 1 turnover in last 5 games. You would never hear anything like this about a running back - because by the nature of the game QB's turn the ball over more.

Like imagine if Walter Payton had the same career turnovers as Peyton manning?

Actually that would have never happned because he would have been cut after his first 10 fumble season.
Take a deep breath and try reading.
I am not arguing, I made a comment that you are totally straw manning.
Maybe you cant comprehend? Ask an adult
Point was and is, we dont view all turnovers the same way, yet they all impact the game the same.
With Kyren, our best touchdown threat in years, I'm not getting rid of him for having 5 turnovers in 24 games, not with what he gives us
Sorry you cant grasp that

Ask an adult haha.

You made a simple comparison between the turnovers of Matt Stafford and kyren williams.

You said that and now are going round in circles.

Strawman lol... no you said that shit.

Cracking me up for real.

Another 1000 yard season and 14 TDs on the year. Rams coaches gave him the ball and let him run down the clock with the game on the line. And 0 fumbles.

This dude is still one of the top backs in the game.

He didn't fumble and ran hard. Caught a nice ball too. Corum also was good today in limited carries. If they don't break the bank and make him a top of the league paid RB I'm fine with keeping him. I just think they'll draft another RB and let him walk.

Definitely. But they have team control with him next season, and it's a contract year. So they don't have to draft a RB unless one they really like falls to them.

They're in a really great spot at RB right now. This is the best we've been since Gurley was still healthy. And I really like Williams and Corum splitting carries too, keeps both healthy and the competition drives each other.

I like that Kyren gives the Rams the toughness to run the ball in the redzone and get us in the endzone. We lacked that for a while.

Looking forward with another decent draft and maybe with FA, the Rams can be a major powerhouse next season. The whiners will likely be rebuilding next season so our window opens up again.

So beginning of the 2026 he’ll be 26.

RB’s hit the wall at 30.

At most give him a 4 year extension. Even that I’m doubtful tbh

I'd re-sign him, just not to Gurley money.

He's not a top 5 RB because he isn't a home run threat but there's value in a guy that consistently hits the holes hard and takes the yards the defense gives to keep the chains moving.

He's also ELITE in pass protection, he doesn't just keep blitzers off of Stafford but eliminates them from his field of view entirely. He has had some bad snaps in that regard but they're few and far between.

Some fans are always looking to replace great football players with better athletes.

It's almost always a mistake Imo.

Dude is an elite RB for the Rams and is as responsible as anyone for the Rams late season playoff pushes in his first 2 years playing.

Why isn't he appreciated more?

Kyren is a good HB. It's a resource allocation question. If we can find a younger, cheaper replacement, we can spend the resources elsewhere.

That's the only reason that I can appreciate, even if I'm not really in agreement. I don't want to inevitablly waste money adding an additional vet FA to "stabilize the position" after spending annual mid-round picks on Cam Akers/Darrell Richardson types, who only do just enough to give them a chance but never really provide a consistent run game....
Next thing you know all that smart resource allocation for the HB position goes out the window while KW is scoring 15 TDs a year for some team we hate for the next few years...

For some younger fans I think it's partly highlight reel envy.
They would rather have the famous "playmaker" who gets stopped 19 times for 1yd per carry, breaks one for 80 and finishes with 100 total yards and most importantly, the one big highlight on sportscenter ...
Meanwhile all KW does is get his 100 yards on 20 carries of 5 yards a piece. Snooze. Boring. Get some speed instead.....

Kyren is a big part of the Rams making the playoffs last year (and again this year).
Great to have him.
The wear and tear he's gone through these 2 seasons will hit him hard in the next 3 to 4 years (very few exceptions).

Rams have him next year and can franchise him the next.

Unfortunately for Kyren, likely the drop-off in play from him (in 2 years) to a RB on a rookie contract (Corum or other) will mean the Rams will invest their $ in another more valued/harder to replace position

He's been great but with the size/build of him and the absolute punishment he's taken the last few years, I still wouldn't extend him.

Rams got burned paying Gurley money to a player who had a Gurley knee. I don't think it's the same for Kyren. I think he gets paid. But it's going to be based on today's market value, which may be different from 2018. Much as I never liked Belichick, they had a theory where they didn't pay players not named Brady too much, let them walk, and had a good replacement. Rince and repeat. Does McVay want to borrow that theory from him?
