IMO we definitely wouldn't double up on CB. I think it's likely a CB is drafted on day one or two - but can't see us taking two.

There are a lot of bodies at CB already - room for a #1 CB, not room for anything after that.

We WILL draft two WRs.....that is a lock.
Most of our CBs are on 1 year deals or 1 year left on a deal. Witherspoon, Durant, and Kendrick. Then Williams could be let go after this year as well. The rest are UDFA types.

So I expect 2 CBs... one maybe late in the 6th, but they could use two guys who have a shot to develop.

I'm sorry ........................... What?

Jourdan Rodrigue said the Rams are moving Whittington to fullback.

I think it’s because he is very good with YAC. But he isn’t a great separator while running routes. FB is a way to keep him involved and get him a few touches. Or maybe it’s just McVay’s way of getting more creative on offense, like he said he wants to be.

A good conversation on CBs...and an interesting nugget about Milroe being invited to the draft. They feel that means the NFL has a reasonable expectation that he goes late rd 1.

If Anthony Richardson was a top five pick, I think it’s likely that Milroe can be a first rounder too……..not that either should be first round picks based on game tape.

The upside is huge and teams will take a chance on him, similar to Baltimore did with Lamar. If the Rams want to pick a QB in round 1 I think it should be Milroe because he has the highest ceiling after Ward, even if his game play had a lot of holes. Hes supposedly very smart and a great leader.

I’m only guessing here, but maybe Seattle’s coach would be a likely person to risk picking Milroe. They can get out of Darnold’s contract pretty easily after the first year.

Moving Whittington was reported by Rams beat writer Jourdan Rodrigue. I didn’t make it up.
Do you remember where that was reported? The only thing I could find was below. To me that doesn't seem like a definite or even full time move.

"Jordan Whittington (who may assume more of a fullback position) "

FWIW Whittington played RB in High School, I could see packages where Whittington is the H-back also have to be somewhat careful because Whittington's durability in college was not the best.

That’s where I saw it. Why report it at all if it’s not true? At the very least it sounds like a Deebo role and they will try it out in camp.

You can read into it what you want. To me it sounds like they are trying to get him done touches but don’t see him as an outside receiver. He’s very good with the ball in his hands. So that makes receiver depth very shallow.

Yes, it’s easy to see his RB roots the way he runs after the catch.

I think Elm is reading a little too much into that one line ... the 'fullback' comment is even in parentheses, suggesting the writer is adding her own commentary.

I could see Whittington taking-on a role similar to Ben Showronek ... good-sized-WR ... special teams player ... some H-back and Fullback responsibilities in some sets ... but mostly a back-up Wide Receiver.

To say Whittington is 'moving to Fullback' seems a little misleading and inaccurate in my opinion
... we'll see.

At this time of year, everything leaked by any franchise - or its “trusted” journalists - is there for one simple reason: distraction.

Ignore it all.

He played some FB this past season, and they could be looking to expand on it. They also experimented with Skowronek there, like Whittington, in a limited capacity. But to come on here and say Jourdan is reporting that they are moving him to FB is false, and/or misleading.

The fullback's main responsibility is blocking so I can't see Whittington being used in that way.

Yeah. You'd think there would be a quote from McVay or Snead about this position change if this was an actual report.

How many of those CB bodies are good and signed for more than a year or two?

This is a really good question. I would say either corner, (though we could be sneaky deep there if Kendricks comes back strong, and that skinny dude bulks up) or inside linebacker. Let's really focus on getting some studs in there to stop the run.

-Forbes - yes (1st rd draft pick)
-Kendrick(was going to be a starter
2023)has starter opposite Jalen Ramsey.
-A J Green has experience w/cleveland.
-Shaun Jolly is back again
-Cam Lampkin - practice squad 2024.
-Josh Wallace - made a couple plays last season.Should be improved.
-Charles Wooods made The Rams roster as well in 2024.

If you look at the position,I’d say this is normal of how The Rams build a position.Especially like this one.
All The KENDRICK HATERS are back, maybe The Rams go CB with Raheem Morris’s Draft Pick !!!

- I remember The Rams Super Bowl Run. WHO were The Rams CB’s ???

Long vs Josh Wallace ?

I hear ya, brother. If he becomes some sort 0f hybrid I think it feeds the notion that the Rams could go WR in the first or third round for sure.

I think Wittington is pretty special though, and I'd hate to see some "failed" experiment that puts him in no man's land, and all of a sudden he is out of the plans in '26. I think JW should be worked into the regular rotation this year.

He's kind of a mini-Puka in my mind. Not quite as talented. But tough, and a willing blocker and YAK man.

I thought the quote was "could play some fullback". I think it is here somewhere. I'll look but maybe someone else can find it first.
