Then I thank you for the clarification. Peace. No, not at all. But, come on. Davis was shellshocked. I am not saying I ever wanted him to fail, but his reality pistol whipped him the past couple of weeks.
Generalizations work the other way, too.
Perhaps Fisher is auditioning for a future career in politics. This is why I never listen to any audio of Fisher or read anything he says. It's such a rarity with him that anything meaningful/truthful is said and the disinformation is so high, why bother? So I don't.
I have no idea why people assume he is only a one year backup with no future here.
Pretty much. I mean, what's he gonna say when he names Davis the starter?I admit I'm a complete Homer, but I have a hard time thinking that Fisher has a "F*** it - whatever" attitude about this. None of us know what went into this decision, but I'm sure he knows what he said a few weeks ago when he named Davis as the starter. I would speculate that he wasn't happy to have to go back on what he said. Davis has appeared to be honest in his own self-assessments in post game comments. For all we know, Davis might have been honest enough with Fisher to tell him he was feeling overwhelmed. If so, we may never hear that due to Fisher protecting Davis. Maybe some frustrated/exhausted players, particularly on the defensive side of the ball, expressed some feelings of frustration after their recent performances have been minimized by quarterback mistakes.
My point is, we don't know anything that happened except Fisher decided to make a change for some reason. I tend to think that whatever that reason is, his goal is to better the team.
i would say "continues" rather than "ensues," since one was already coming down the pike. And ... QB controversy ensues (if Hill isn't any better).
lol. "the people who want AD." People only wanna win, and neither inspires much confidence. Right now Hill has shown exactly nothing except a 47 QB rating and half a start. Hopefully he can provide a spark, stay healthy, and improve upon his less than stellar beginning so the Rams can end up with a respectable record at the end of the season. If we lose more than 2 games, it won't be all that respectable. This season was lost once Bradford went down (and then Quick), and no amount of clamoring for either of these perennial backups will change that. Personally, I'd rather see Keenum.
I feel sorry for this defense. They've got their work cut out for them.
Pretty much. I mean, what's he gonna say when he names Davis the starter?
"Yeah, he's a day-to-day QB for us. I'll yank him if he doesn't play well in a few games."
He had to give Davis that sort of confidence once he decided to start him.
good point, sir. However this turns out for Hill and the Rams......I believe it is a good move to help Davis also. I believe that it is good for any young quarterback when struggling to step back and watch the offense work from the sideline. See the things he was missing in real time. And hopefully Hill sparks this team......
Go Rams.........
I think he already set a precedent with that, Cake. He's always been quick to punish players (bench or release) if they don't meet his expectations. These men (professionals) should know that the nature of the business is to perform or step aside. I don't think Fisher's done anything to instill a false sense of security with anyone with his previous actions. There is a credibility issue with that X. What do guys on the roster believe now when he calls them into his office for a hurrah speech and to build them up with big promises of support? Because now they can be sure that when he says something like that it actually means nothing as far as a confidence booster.
I wonder if this decision is all on Fishers shoulders, or did word come down from the FO that they think Hill gives the Rams a better chance to win.
