If I was in Snead's shoes I'd wait on RB because I don't think Gibbs makes it to us. Same with Robinson. Also while I like Charbs a ton you gotta recognize that McVay has his quirks so it has to be a back he actually wants to put in the game.

So a minor trade down would be nice from 36 to accrue a pick. I am sure this is a desire for Snead barring a situation where the Edge you really want is there (for me that is McDonald).

Then pray an Edge is there and if not take a TE. Next couple picks ensure CB and Edge are given something to work with, because certainly there are guys who can help us in that range. First three picks I'd make sure I have Edge, CB, TE in some combo to best take advantage of the strengths of this draft.

Then fill holes from there. Position to get McVay whichever midround QB he prefers. I know he wants receivers but maybe Kraft or LaPorta will sate him and it sets us up next year to have that TE arriving for year two in 2024 when Higs leaves.

Now on draft night if Gibbs or Robinson somehow fall to us then all that shit goes out the window. :laugh3:

But…. you KNOW at that pick you’ll have a favorite and that trade down will be tough to stomach!
Probably yeah. I hate when we trade down but if we don't it's gonna be a long break after round 3. :laugh2:

Personally, I don't care how long that break lasts so long as we come away from this draft with a couple of elite starting players. In fact, I'm starting to come around on the idea of trading up our #36, #69 & #77 to land both Ade Adebawore and Steve Avila. That long break would be quite peaceful knowing we had those two listed on our roster.

It depends upon how they really feel about Akers (whom I can't help but to think may be traded next week) and the other players on the roster. But, as of now, I'd say CB/Edge.
Well that would be a terrible tactical move if they do. He's under control cheaply for the next 2 seasons and showed he may be back to form from the injury in the latter part of the year. Why create another hole? Especially because the compensation back for him would probably be a '24 7th, if that knowing our trade tendencies.
It is apparent that the Rams Offense under McVay needs a steady running game. So I think they move on a guy if he’s there at 36, which is fine with me. I hope it’s Gibbs, but I won’t hold my breath.
Ask the Steelers if drafting a back high will suddenly improve your run game. Need the guys up front making holes for any back (not named Barry Sanders) to regularly produce. So if they really want to rely on the run game, draft the best OL at 36 and a RB in 4th-5th, there will still be good ones.

It's gonna end up being a corner (and a very good one!) but people's heads are gonna explode cause all they'll see is us losing a corner in Ramsey and replacing one in the draft.

I'm totally on board with a CB too. Many good CB's at the top. My favorite value is Garrett Williams in the 3rd.

I still think that they are going to trade down and select Auburn EDGE Derick Hall in second round.

If he does, I hope it turns out a lot better than Snead's last Auburn player taken with our first pick for the Rams.

I think he will be a solid, if not great pro. He just has to heal up and allowed that time.

Maybe it’s just the timing of his then, because I can still see that TB playoff game.
The horror, the horror.
That yr, missing all of camp and the regular season, was likley a reason for those fumbles.

That's not the worst thing that could happen. And I'd be medium okay with that... and even ecstatic if we could get a good corner and a plus pass catcher after.

I'm good with Hall too. He's sort of dependent on that Senior Bowl performance in terms of being the guy at 36 but we know the Rams love that shit. And he's a good kid.

Or....we might also see losing an All Pro vs gaining an untested rookie? Totally unreasonable?

Yeah agree with that. I think he probably hasn't run for good reason, as in he knows his 40 time won't help him. They say he ran a 4.58 a few years back so he's probably a 4.6 guy but when you watch him run his potency is about his contact balance and vision. He's relentless. Not really the kind of back McVay has favored. I like his game but not sure McVay would favor him and there's some others similar to him you can get later like Gray. Here's a game of his vs Oklahoma:

Vaughn meanwhile is much more of a McVay back. He's small as shit, which I do not like. But the guy is a fierce competitor and relentless in his own right. And he's gonna get chunks in the NFL. Here's one of his games:

Sorry not impressed with Vaughn at all from that game

He is good in the open field but unable to move the pile at all.
