Anchrum. If Joe is the better of the two, then all of that Anchrum talk must have been coachspeak. I’d like to see Anchrum get a chance....
Sometimes it has a lot to do with where you're drafted and coaches who cannot admit they were wrong on a pick.

The Rams were wrong about Evans last year. Playing Noteboom at RG has everything to do with his salary and nothing do with overall talent, when chances are there are two players better than he at RG.

I think it's a little closer to this.

Also it was revolutionary to not see our C get pushed back into the QB—I’m like wow, that really makes a colossal difference in pocket formation.
^^this. Glad to see they got that massive hole that's been there for at least 2 seasons get plugged up.
There's just no pocket for Staff when the C wears skates. Avila being next to him helps I'm sure.
Avila.... thank goodness we finally hit on an OL pick.

McVay did make the comment in his coaches show he doesn't care about draft position when deciding starters.

Two things.

1. Boom had a better 2nd half than his 1st, by far. The snaps gave him confidence and steepened his learning curve.

2. Don’t be surprised if Dotson is named starter at RG fairly soon. Just a feeling.
Noteboom played a clean game which is big. Dotson draws some flags. I think McVay really likes Noteboom and I think he's the RG for the season.

It's too bad Bruss didn't show up as a year 2 stud. That would have put Boom in the swing role where he belongs.

But I'm off Boom's nuts right now due to the protections he helped give our QB game one. Keep the old man clean vs SF and we might even have something up front.

LA homeboy Shelton is a damn revelation.

I'm going to say he's one of the most underrated players on the Rams as far as how well he's doing his job when he's in there.
Another UDFA the Rams developed along with Alaric Jackson on the offensive line.

I have always felt and always will feel that the offensive line is the most important unit on a team.

I know it's only game one but kudos.

Fate, I love Avila. For such a big guy, he has such nimble feet. A-Jax does as well, but honestly, I think Avila's surpassed everyone as our most physically talented lineman. As a pass-protector, his technique is incredible as well. Just a smart, skilled player who had no business dropping to us. Reminds me of the Larry Warford situation where he had no business dropping as far as he did before having so many good years as a guard for the Lions and Saints.

He's going to be a massive help against the 69ers front four.
Call him by his real name, Memento, which is Esteban! Ya Tutu lover!

Estaban (spell it right, if you're going to critique me, Loyal; I thought you knew that as a writer) Avila then. But Chatarius Atwell has a nickname that I just don't like. "Steve" is at least a first name that can be derived from "Estaban". And honestly? Chatarius isn't a hard name to say. I don't know why folks call him by a nickname.

Give me a couple more Avilas on this oline and let them play RG,LG AND Center. lol
Still learning? yes. but this guy is 10 yr workhorse who will continue to get bigger , stronger and better.

We finally hit on a ol in the draft Not dogging Snead and company.
Honestly believe this could be Snead's best draft of his career.
Lots of picks = higher probability of hitting on some gems.
I feel we have done that.

Also happy to see McVay's conclusion that we have to get bigger and more physical offensively.
Hate the Niners ,but have always been envious, yet super respectful of their physicality on offense.
Have been wanting us to adopt that mentality for a few years now.

And YES Baldy is the Boss!! Love his Clips!

Dogging on Snead is my department :thumbsup1:

I’ve always been envious of the Niners physicality also. I mean, why can’t the Rams do that. It’s not like they Niners blow high picks on Olinemen every year aside from McGlinchey being drafted high and acquiring Trent they’ve been plugging in jags.

I kinda think Alaric Jackson might be the leader type. He's not afraid to speak his mind and has had to fight to win his spot. Either way, good problem to have if there's more than one real leader on that line.
