On the play he took a helmet to the forearm making backside block while pulling. Was the bruise that bad to sprint and not return to the game? I hope he's not soft and sits whenever he gets dinged.
Sounds like a very painful booboo.

I really like this rep too for the oline. Alaric is who he is focused on but just watch the blocking scheme in general. The oline blocking scheme just seems 5 steps ahead of what it was in the past. By design Stafford fakes handoff and then steps TOWARDS the side Bosa is on while having Higbee pick up Bosa 1 on 1 with Avila pulling from the left side to meet Bosa for Higbee to release. Jackson man handles his guy, Shelton has his hands full but fights through it and Hav/Boom double down on DT. It's just a beautiful play to watch the intricacies of the oline blocking.

By the way, Blaine Grisak has a lot of all-22 clips on his twitter feed. I recommend click his tweet below and scrolling through all his comments.

Yea thanks for putting that up. I agree the Oline is really really playing well together as shown on this clip. So much of the double teaming and handling stunts is just money. In this clip also notice how Kyren Williams helps out and readjusts his position so quickly. He nearly always stands up the defender like a boss. Sony Michel was almost as good but definitely not the level I see KW playing at, when you want all of his snaps in pass pro.

It's... it's... it's... almost like Noteboom is one of the top 5 olineman. (And quite possibly top 3!)

So, I have been saying this about Noteboom in some of my comments but you can also see it from this clip. He has a lot of great traits and he is overall a pretty good player. I personally have been a proponent of him. But notice how he doesn't have those type of hands where he locks on and the defender is done. His defender commonly can disengage from his block as seen in this clip. The defender disengages and gets a piece of the RB to help make the tackle. Often you will also see Boom just whiff on the guy because he often goes after his block too fast and the defender can juke and shed him. Not trying to slam Boom, its just when you watch other Lineman such as Avila or Shelton, they get the hands on and neutralize of push the defender out of the play. I do like Joe in pass pro though. His quick feet and reaction time are big assets.

Avila goes flying over to the right side to help on Bosa. Impressive.

If son of Rat-face takes away Donald, there's no reason not to return the favor.

The Rams were wrong about Evans last year. Playing Noteboom at RG has everything to do with his salary and nothing do with overall talent, when chances are there are two players better than he at RG.
That’s BS !! The Bobby Evans thing I’d say is 100% right. How Sean Mcvay didn’t see that & trusted his O’Line coach as well.

Don’t think for ONE(1) MINUTE Ryan Wendle & Zak Kromer aren’t right there with those guys.

This Offensive Line is a whole different group when it comes to who is starting.

Joesph Noteboom will be starting once again at RG. One Monday Night against Cinncy!!

IMO it’s The TOTAL OPPOSITE,but right topic. Lance Bruss is GONE!!
Zach Thomas made the squad,so there that when it come to draft picks.

Alaric Jackson flat out beat out Joesph Noteboom, but Noteboom also shows excellent mobility & comforts Big Tob Havienstien.Don’t think for a minute as well that Andrew Whitworth has some involvement there.Meaning keeping in contact & serious relationships there. Not that that is a big part of it.

IMO though is Anchrum has it or should have 1 foot out the door.

This offensive line isn’t really like ANY of The Rams OFFENSIVE LINES from the past.

The Rams have The Most Depth & Rister numbers than EVER under Sean Mcvay. He also has made it a point of emphasis.

Yea Avila is a Phenom. Dude is soooooo good. You see his awareness, quickness and power and his impact on the Oline on that play where he helps out Jackson and saves his ass from giving up a sack. Dude is playing as good as Quentin Nelsons rookie campaign.

Avila is literally knocking Bosa on his ass and Hargrave off his spot with ease.
As you watch that, also watch Joesph Noteboom seal The inside as well. Those 2 plus Shelton really give Matthew Stafford a nice pocket. Then again Joesph Noteboom sealed 2 run plays as well.

ONCE NOTEBOOM went out The Rams we’re in trouble & the delayed blitz & all that came from The Right Side.
Hopkins & Higbee’s holdings were from the Left side.

My point was & always was about draft picks & what happened.

What’s The Price to win a Superbowl? How good is Mattew Stafford when healthy ?

I’m a Old Draftnik & GM type.I listen to a lot of the BS & all that all the time & certain poster.

I fall into that categor, but hold myself accountable.Les Snead & The Rams Scouting is incredible. Coaching Staff as well.

The Rams have messed up in a FEW Drafts!!! I’ll still go with what I wanted to do,but then again. Time heals all.

The Tutu Atwell thing is a perfect example.

The BEST thing about Steve Avila it makes up for the Creed Humpries thing.

I first off wanted to trade up for Lance Dickerson. He imo was a sure thing, but Creed Humpries was there with a SERIOUS Position of need.

2020 draft was a mess & trading up for Taylor & drafting Dillion was a possibility. RB spot would have been in perfect shape.

The Bruss thing was adding insult to injuries.

2023 is a WHOLE different story.Steve Avalia day 1 was a rookie of the year all pro type candidate. The PERFECT Pencil & Play LG!!

Then add Tutu Atwell & his growth as a WR just sort of make’s magic of bringing it all together.
Then add a healthy Mattew Stafford things begin to really shine. The Cam Akers & Van Jefferson thing going on is sort of weird.
—Cooper Kupp is great & his mentoring.Seems like Van has never really accepted the mentoring & a more of a ME type of guy.I remember his rookie season when Josh Reynolds was starting ahead of him.He was not to happy & thought he should have been out there.
Sean Mcvay did & will try to make it a Point of emphasis to get Van Jefferson more involved into the game.
—I wonder about his willingness as a Blocker as well.He knows he has the ability to step up & it is a contract season.

The OL play this year is a reflection of just how good of a coach Wendell is. He has made a HUGE difference. Their overall technique is good and they play with aggression. There is a photo on the Ram's website of Shelton taking on Kinlaw, Noteboom on Jackson and Avila singled up on Hargrave with Stafford going through his progressions. Goddamn that's a great shot, and it just shows how this OL went against one of the best DLs in the NFL and man for man handled them.

Avila is a true stud. Shelton is underrated. Noteboom the object of derision by many is proving his worth and validating McVay's confidence in him. OL's need to win inside out and the Rams have the guys to do it. The way Noteboom is playing IMO he's their RG going forward. I can see Thomas at RT next year and have no problem with that. He showed good feet, i.e. movement skills, when he was at LG. I watched him at SDSU and was impressed with his athleticism. Jackson is growing into that LT position and has been absolutely solid.

This is an OL that can win championships. No more hand wringing over an incompetent OL. They could become one of the best in the league. They simply need to improve their run blocking.

This season is validating my feelings about it being won or lost by the coaches. In Wendell's case, it's a clear unambiguous win. This OL is coming together much faster than I thought it would. Stafford knows he's going to have time to make those throws. The fact he was able to hit Atwell deep on so many plays is testimony to how well he's being protected. When Kupp returns this offense will terrorize defenses. Teams will have to play a base dime and then the run game will really begin to click.

So the Rams are 1-1 after 'upsetting' Seattle in Seattle and were toe to toe with niners until Noteboom went down......and the Noteboom critics continue to find flaws in his game? Talk about coaches starting guys because of their draft slot?....refusing to admit they're wrong?

Pot meet kettle!

He should’ve rubbed some dirt on it and got back out there.
Can't quite go there since I don't know what the injury was and how much pain and all that. But I suspect there are guys on our OL who would have played through that same injury. We of course will never know.

Either way at this point I am just happy he is playing well at guard and hope he can finish the season there so he will have enough value for us to move his ass in the offseason.
