Regarding Staley's decision to try and put-the-game-away by going-for-it on 4th-and-1 from the Chargers' 24-yard-line, with just under two minutes to play (Chargers were stopped, and MN took-over but failed to score), Boomer Esiason said on his morning show today that all five guys on their CBS set (Bill Cowher, Phil Simms, Nate Burleson and James Brown) all agreed that the DECISION to go for it was a "fire-able offense".

Esiason also speculated whether Staley might have been fired after the game, had MN scored.

I don't know about that but I was watching live; and could not believe the Chargers were going for it.
I understood that one. Their defense has been awful.

Credit to them though, they made the stops this time.

What bailed Staley out was Minnesota's incompetent clock management. Minnesota makes 1st down and lets clock wind down instead of stopping clock and having 2-3 plays.

Cam Akers is going to get his chance. The Chargers still should have tried to sign him, except cam will be The Vikings #1 RB

Is Staley the worst head coach in the NFL. You can't coach in the NFL purely by statistics, this is not the MLB
