Even if Staley gets fired, and I think things are looking bad for him right now, I don't see a reunion.
I just think that he'll want to go somewhere else to get a reset. Maybe I'm wrong.

And I think that if the young Rams D plays anywhere near the level it has the first two weeks or, somehow, keeps improving.. Morris finally gets his HC job.
I wonder if Staley would be better served to go be a HC at some Div. 1 college after the Renters fire him?

Staley was very good in his one and only year as a DC, as a head coach his defenses have been middle of the road. Maybe he isn’t cut out to be a head coach, hell, we’re not even sure he’s cut out to be a DC.
It’s weird, Raheem is well liked and respected by coaches but hated by some of the fan base. It’s rumored that Raheem will get HC interviews this cycle so maybe the rams will be in the market, otherwise nah.
It's the 10 yard cushions given to the opposing side when they need 5 yards for a 1st down, that drives folks insane, It drove me insane at times, but I still think he's a helluva coach. He brought in Eric Weddle from retirement when we desperately needed him. That was a bold, outside-the-box solution that came directly from him.

Maybe Staley wasn't ready for a HC job and should've stayed with us for a while. Sometimes people tripping all over themselves to poach us might backfire..

Though we won a SB with Morris. Staley was fine, but I am ok where we are. Don’t need to hope for Staley to get dumped so we can pick him up AGAIN….
Only if Morris gets a HC job

Henderson deserves a shot at DC for sure. I think he is the best in the league as a DL coach but unfortunately secondary knowledge might hurt his chances of getting the gig. McVay would probably go with Pleasant for that reason.

But the way this defense looks so far I think Morris will get that gig. Which means two DC jobs potentially for the Rams positional coaches.

I think with Henderson getting some interviews outside the Rams could favor him over Pleasant as a next DC for us

Certainly possible. Also possible that McVay chooses him due to the high quality of the job he does. Losing him would suck though so I would not be surprised by that.

Just observing that it seems like the pass threat drives wins and losses and McVay is always on the cutting edge.

Good thing here is we can't really go wrong. Two top positional coaches as options, and Rams will have their choice. Plus if Morris leaves a return of Staley is possible.

Was Staley overrated? How much of the defensive success was his coaching and how much was due to Donald, Ramsey, Floyd, JJ and others?

The Chargers defence has been bad generally and bad situationally. I'd pass.
Top coordinators who return to coordinating after head coach failure can do quite well. They just jump right back in to the scheme and also have more seasoning from the top gig.

Yeah in the event the Rams defense is good enough for Morris to get a hc job I wouldn't be shocked if one went with Morris and the other got the Rams job.
