I would like to see LV pick him up. The rivalry between the Raiders and Chargers would make it interesting brother vs brother.
Vegas is a total shit show and will take a few years to win. Plus I don’t think he wants to be in the same division as his brother. I have no information regarding that, just a feeling.

I could see Harbaugh with the Giants, but then again, with a young QB, they may want to go offense. Of course Daoble (sp?) didn't work out so who knows?

LV needs to really become competitive like quick or else. Can’t be a shit team in the gambling mecca, that itself is criminal. Whoever they get needs to really uphold the Commitment to Excellence motto and turn that shitshow around.

I saw that the Rams will play in Vegas next season. I'm planning to be there. I hope the Raiders are still a shit show, or maybe they're really improved but the Rams make them a shit show anyway?

Agreed. Can you imagine rolling into that division as a new head coach? Talk about trial by fire.

There simply aren't many coordinators on this year's "hot coaches list" who I would expect to project to be able to go in to Vegas and have a snowball's chance in hell of competing. I mean even McVay when we hired him, we didn't know for sure he'd be this dude. We hoped.

The two Western divisions are fucking brutal man. Cards are in the same boat.

Question: Would you rather the ARI job or the Falcons job. ARI, you can start fresh at QB.

Falcons are gonna pay out Cousins and most likely don't have a QB of the future in Penix but you're also prob stuck seeing if he can get it together for a year after he comes back from injury.
Arizona has more draft capital and is in better position to do a QB reset. The immediate competitive advantage however, goes to Atlanta with their talent and being in the South while Arizona is in the strongest division and is maybe not as talented.

So… regular season superstar Lamar stays and Harbaugh is out?

Dumb.
Makes sense to me.

The "regular season superstar" is probably the main reason Harbaugh lasted as long as he did in Baltimore.

He inherited a team with Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Terrell Suggs and the like and had huge success. When those guys got old and/or left the Ravens were no longer contenders and there were rumors that he was on his way out at that time. Then along came Jackson and they were contenders again.

Good coach, but without being known as a great offensive or defensive mind (was mainly a special teams prior) you just have to keep the FAR harder to find franchise QB.

Well I certainly won't act like I know all that went on because I'm no where close to it. What I do know is if the schools and the players take a hit, the coaches needs to also. IF THEY DIDN'T KNOW...THEY SHOULD HAVE!!! it's like that old saying "the captain goes down with the ship!!!

Something similar happened at the University of Memphis when Derrick Rose was there and Calipari ran off to Kentucky scott free and he was knee deep in it.
My point is that USC should not have been penalized as bad as they were but Carroll saw that USC was going to be screwed and decided it was best to move on. If USC would have only been penalized a little bit, I bet Carroll would have stayed. But then again - I am just guessing here.

But I do agree that Coaches should be penalized as well in some way but I can't see the NCAA being legally allowed to penalize a coach other than suspending him from college football. And the only thing a school can do is fire them.

Almost every defensive rookie of the year since Aaron Donald has been released or traded!!!!

2014 Aaron Donald DT St. Louis Rams
2015 Marcus Peters CB Kansas CIty Chiefs
2016 Joey Bosa DE San Diego Chargers
2017 Marshon Lattimore CB New Orleans Saints
2018 Darius Leonard LB Indianapolis Colts

2019 Nick Bosa DE San Francisco 49ers
2020 Chase Young DE Washington Football Team
2021 Micah Parsons LB Dallas Cowboys

2022 Sauce Gardner CB New York Jets
2023 Will Anderson DE Houston Texans
2024 Jared Verse LB Los Angeles Rams

I'm skeptical. Is is really far harder to find a franchise QB than a GREAT coach?

How many great coaches are even in the league? I don't know the answers, but I'm not sure of it being far harder.

If it came down to a scapegoat situation they shoulda traded Lamar for a boatload of something and kept one of the best HC’s in the league.

I’ve been OUT on Lamar for awhile though. Maybe I’m biased.
That sure seems like it would have been the wise direction. But what do we know? Eh?

Winning in this league is tough. Also say what you want about coaches being idiots when this play or that play doesn't work to a fan's satisfaction, but there's no doubt that at the coaching level accountability happens. I don't think the same is true for GMs, who utilize their positions to hobnob with the owners, but in the end they only hurt themselves as their promotional paths are slower and more difficult as a result.

And don't get me going on owners. :laugh1:
