Watching throws behind the receivers I don't have as much desire to see him return as I did before. He's still better than what they had as a backup. But if he leaves it won't bother me that much. I'm glad Stafford is returning. But they still have to upgrade the backup position. Wolford and Perkins are not the answer.

Baker is.... definitely worth keeping and developing if you can get him at the right price and he wants to be developed here.
We can keep him as a back up, but I don't think he will get better. He is what he is at this point of his career.

Excellent quote by him. Hope he sticks around.

Also re: that last game... Seattle has a good secondary and they put strong heat on Baker which is a tough combination. He missed some shit but we knew he was a work in progress not a finished product. So him sticking around to work with McVay would be excellent. He's not a shitbird like he was cast as in Cleveland. He's a young and talented QB with a lot to work on. That would be real nice to have on our depth chart.

Agree 100%

Mayfield is better and physically bigger than I thought he was but during this stint with the Rams, I conclude he's marginal starter potential. He's above averag.

I think there's really good potential in Perkins as QB2 but he has to PROVE that if he's around for 2023 camp.

Baker is ......

Very Lucky to have survived his 5 Ram games being sacked 17 times behind a starting OL that was primarily made up of WWCs ( Waiver Line Contention players-{Nsekhe/ Skura/ Aboushi} plus Practice Squad riders Brewer & Arcuri). Baker reserve OL consisted of WWC's Thomas & Toner plus PS rider Kolone.

Baker had RT Havenstein start all 5 games plus he had the injured starter Allen start 1 gms & had reserve center Shelton start the other four.

I wonder what his five games would have been if he was not starting behind the worse OL's in the NFL?

For just the above part of this deplorable season, I wished I could tell him to his face Baker Mayfield :handshake: :trophy:

Every player has a certain age that they peek at.

It's really hard to say what that age is until they play a career.

But if he didn't have that competitive and a great arm, I might agree with you.

Maybe.
And that *maybe* might be because you post such amazing pictures of chicks rear ends.

And you know a little bit about football.

Hey, I'll take any compliment I can get.

Coaching can help someone reach their peak potential but players are who they are. He can be better with a full offseason of training and McVay can make it easier for him, but his career completion% is 61.4%. That may improve some but he is an inconsistent player that will have flashy moments.

I really hope he sticks around next year. He may be a step down from Stafford but he is more than good enough to win if Stafford goes down again at any point. You all have to remember that he was throwing to our 4th and 5th WRs and the worst O-line in the league in his stint as our starter and he still kept us competitive.

Not after yesterday.

He's 5th now with a 86.4....

#1 Stafford 97.7
#2 Warner 97.2
#3 Goff 91.5
#4 Green 87.9
#5 Mayfield 86.4
#6 A. Davis 85.1
#7 Bulger 84.4

Seems that one pick yesterday put him below Green. Would have been 89.6 if incomplete, 91.8 if completed and VJ was tackled on the spot (which would have put him above Goff). Had VJ caught it and scored, his rating would have been 95.4...#3.
