Another Ram Hall of famer finishing his stellar career in Pittsburg.
Thought I posted something like that about AD99 as well. There will always be a little sting there.

As Rams Fans now a days though. We are very blessed. The players that come in & out of the Lockeroom have been amazing.Baker Mayfield is just another example of players coming & going.

Baker Mayfield is as good as GONE!! Hard pill to swollow, but as Les Snead quoted in 2017 before Mcvay’s first draft. There is only 1 ball. I’d say more so than a QB than a RB position that he was talking about.

Well 3 were, the fourth Higbee caught then dumped on a 2 yard play. A good pass nonetheless.

Against GB he hit Tutu in the hands across the middle. Then an out to the left on an out which was probably his worst throw as a Ram,but pressured from the backside(Havienstien). That pass Atwell didn’t hold onto changed the game?(just saying)

Sign a player at the end of the year and end up with a 3rd round pick, not bad at all. Win situation either way.

Then we have a very nice problem.
We’ll look at SF 9ers ??

What’s there future at QB?

Had to look, but Tennessee QB Willis looks bad from the start & if with SF would probably be losing there?? Imo

#20 overall Kenny Pickett(Pitt)
#74 Desmond Rider(falcons)

#86 Malik Willis ( Tenn) not as big a risk as Tanahill was saying.(sad)

#94 Matt Carroll (miss) Panthers
#134 Bailey Zappe (Pats) w mich
#144 Sam Howell(wash) (ole miss)
2 others & then Purdy #262

Could Purdy win a SuperBowl as a rookie? Kurt Warner was not a rookie & he won a Championship with Amsterdam in 1997 Summer of ? He played most of the Reps in 1998 against the 9ers.

Just for reference (American Underdog??)

Yeah - Baker is going to sign for BIG MONEY!! Nothing against The Rams. He wants to make sure he leaves The Rams better than when he got here.

A 3rd rd Comp would be nice.

Lol..

Welp.. I'm a fucking genius.

Anyway... Carr's out, it seems. Benched for the rest of the season with an easy out on his contract.

That franchise is a dumpster fire on a mound of poop.

Good call.

Well Kupped ? What do you think after figuring it all out ?

I say Carr is a perfect backup QB for The Rams in 2023. Makes way to much sense.

I could give reasons why,but I actually see it happening.

I think that statement is a bit premature. Not a lot of teams will be getting into a bidding war for Baker when Derek Carr, and the GOAT will be on the market. Also, a close breakdown of Baker's performance does still show decision issues. Baker himself might choose to stay a year under McVay, which would only enhance his value.

If Mayfield is told Stafford will retire in 2024 as he might, then I see no reason for Baker not to stay. Stafford would be on the roster for another year regardless simply because of the Ram's cap situation. That is not to say that Snead and McVay have already talked to Matt about retiring in 2024. IMO I think they have. If Stafford wants to play beyond 2023 I think the Rams would accommodate him with a trade. But I doubt he would want that. He will have a legit shot at another ring in 2023 and he would like to go out on top. Note, Stafford said he's playing next year. Nothing was said about it beyond that. After 2023 second ring or not, Stafford will have nothing left to prove.

AD will be retiring in 2024 so this roster is going to change. It will give McVay a chance to tweak his offense to incorporate things that Mayfield does well. I for one will anticipate Baker as the Ram starter in 2024.

You have to figure that if Mayfield's performance was mediocre then the Rams would probably be in big to go after Carr. Since Carr has to approve the team, I would think the Rams would be at the top of the list. But with both Carr and the Goat on the market the market for Mayfield will be diluted. But considering how well he's playing with the backups you can only wonder how good Mayfield would be after a year as a backup before becoming a starter in LA. Baker has to know that LA is his best shot to get a ring. In fact I think Mayfield gets a ring in LA before Watson or the Panthers. Talk about the ultimate revenge.

Carr ? Ok we’ll see? It makes to much sense for him to be a Ram though IMO.

The price tag might be too steep & you’re probably right though. I’ll temper it down then.

I won’t get excited then, but it does get me curious what will happen next season.

The Rams were rumored to want Jimmy G. I don’t know what his contract is right now either? Tre Lance & Jimmy G have to be worried ?
I HATE IT!!! What they gave up to get Lance & why the Jets went QB & trade up(??????) Not sure that happened, but Zach Wilson?

—I liked Jalen Hurts. Look at Miami. What a mess.the 9ers got comp picks for McDonald ?? Talk about a pasty looking NFL coach.

LMAO - that is what the Dolphins think the Rooney rule is all about.

I don't think you guys realize how serious a spinal contusion is. I'm sure the doctors told Matt that he dodged a bullet. Spinal contusions can lead to partial or complete paralysis, cardiac complications and a whole lot of other things. IMO it was a wake up call for him and Kelly.

Contractually the Rams have to carry him in 2023. His statement about not retiring said nothing about beyond 2023, it was intentionally vague. I think the Rams want to see how long Mayfield would wait. IMO he won't wait beyond 2024. If Snead wants to keep McVay he needs to keep his shiny new toy, i.e. Mayfield. IMO if Stafford wants to play beyond 2024 it will be on another team. But I think he would retire rather than risk another Detroit scenario. Stafford has nothing to prove and he has career options and a beautiful wife and kids. No way is he going to jeopardize all that.

AD has said he was going to retire in 2024 and I believe he will.

A'Shawn was brought in as a bridge player, and that bridge is complete now. IMO he won't be resigned. Gaines has proven he's a much better player. Yeah Hoecht can play DE but in reality he's a 3T. It's why he's played behind AD.

Larrell Murchison is a one gap 3T with the size to play 1T on occasion. He's another Gaines type of DT. I can easily see Gaines and Murchison starting on the interior DL.

Daniel Hardy has the size, speed and athleticism to be a good edge. But he needs a lot of work on his technique.

The Rams need to get a dominant edge, a true power RB, and TE in this next off season. I think they trade for the edge player and draft the TE and RB.

Once everyone gets back to health, this could be a very good roster. Most of the UFAs won't be resigned.

That Spinal Contusion can be problematic, one play away from paralysis.
Chances are Stafford will get hurt next year, he's played hurt before, but he's not getting younger.
If Baker stays and signs with the Rams, he will play at some point next year and will be the heir apparent for the future.

Not very good...

today was a good illustration.

Has some moments but in the long run just not an accurate enough QB.

I thought the pass protection today was very poor.

Also though Ty Nsekhe had a really bad game. Not sure if he was injured or Arcuri just replaced him.

it was poor... but there were also about 4 important fairly open throws that he missed badly.
