Starks is quality. I don't like safety up high but I would take him if he is on the board at 26.I wouldn't draft a run stopping DT at 26. You can get one in the 3rd, it's a deep DT draft. So at worst trade back for more picks if you want to do something like that.
I feel our 1st pick has to be a dynamic playmaker whether it be on offense or defense.
I saw they talked to Malachi Starkes at the combine, a FS/slot CB from Georgia. Supposed to be a hell of a player that might be there. I would take him if he is supposed to be a guy that can improve this secondary and make plays. The secondary was also awful on those Barkley runs as well. Same for the beast of a safety from South Carolina. He could also play some LB at 6-3 225, although he is now going higher in the 1st it seems.
Get playmakers, guys who can put the ball in the endzone or can take it away from the opposing offense. We need more special players.
Watching his highlights he looks like he can be a really good slot corner. Reminds of the Eagles Cardner-Johnson in terms of a S/CB combo.Starks is quality. I don't like safety up high but I would take him if he is on the board at 26.
I think they go offense but I'd be happy if they took Jihad Campbell ilb from Alabama. He'd help with run defense. If the past is any indication, Hell will freeze over before Snead and McVay pick a linebacker in round oneI’m warming up to a DT with Rams first pick. Keeping RBs from getting to 2nd level will help our atrocious ILB run defense. I still think Plan A is an offensive weapon (TE/WR) but it has to be one of the players the covet (vs next available).
Yeah, there is a thought process to maybe take an ascending young defense and take it from good to dominant. Campbell could help to do that. McVay could win a lot of games if he has a defense that keeps handing his offense the ball without giving up a lot of points.I think they go offense but I'd be happy if they took Jihad Campbell ilb from Alabama. I wouldnt complain but think Loveland or OT in RD 1 barring Free Agent pickups.I think they go offense but I'd be happy if they took Jihad Campbell ilb from Alabama. He'd help with run defense. I understand the need for a right tackle, but a first round pick sitting on the bench for the 2025 season doesn’t excite me.I wouldnt complain but think Loveland or OT in RD 1 barring Free Agent pickups.
Yeah he is just so versatile. Shula could unlock all sorts of shit in coverage with him.Watching his highlights he looks like he can be a really good slot corner. Reminds of the Eagles Cardner-Johnson in terms of a S/CB combo.
That’s how I remember it tooNo, Limmer went in due to injuries when Avila, Jonah Jackson and Noteboom were all down at the same time.
Prior to then, the Rams had simply flipped Avila (back to LG) and Jackson (over to Center).
Two down, 11 to go.With Stafford and Alaric locked up, Jonah gone, and assumptions of trading/releasing Kupp, Kendrick and Parkinson, we now need the lucky 13:
Backup QB
Speedy RB threat
WR2, WR3, WR5
TE 1/2
Swing T
IOL Depth
DE/Edge to replace Hoecht
NT to replace BBIII
MLB1
CB1
Safety depth
Two down, 11 to go.
Realistically, would still like to upgrade four starting positions: TE, NT, MLB, CB. The rest is largely depth.
Maybe one or two more in free agency and hope for 2-3 in the draft.
I've run the mock draft simulation multiple times and based on team needs and OT depth in this draft, I fully expect a really solid OT to fall to our pick. Havenstein is about done and we have no swing tackle. We saw how critical that guy is when Jackson was out. Better to draft one this year in a deep class.I understand the need for a right tackle, but a first round pick sitting on the bench for the 2025 season doesn’t excite me.
The way it looks, the Rams won’t be trading up, without a second round pick. So Warren and Loveland are likely gone by 26. Jihad Campbell could be BPA by the time they pick. The only other exciting value at 26 imo could be if one of the top receivers still available.
For some reason I would like to see Campbell drop to where The Rams could trade up.I've run the mock draft simulation multiple times and based on team needs and OT depth in this draft, I fully expect a really solid OT to fall to our pick. You are correct on Warren and Loveland, draft projections are changing and now those two are projected top 15. But I will say, with 6 weeks left that could change. Warren probably locked in, but Loveland could drop back down.
I would be ecstatic with Campbell. And that might be need meeting value at 26.
If the Rams really wanted someone, they could also ship future picks combined with their 26 etc. Happens every year, so I think its early to dismiss any possibilty. Especially since we haven't officically even dipped into free agency.
On a side note I would also go after C Dalman in Free Agency or Fries. We could hugely upgrade our Interior and use Limmer as depth, which we sorely need. Not that I think the Rams will go this direction.... But I think they might regret it.
