Cody Schrader (RB) of Mizzou deserves a lot more respect than he gets. I'd gladly take him with one of our compensatory sixths; he's had an incredibly-good year, led the SEC in rushing (over 400 more yards than Jayden Daniels the QB), is a 5'9", 216 lbs. bowling ball who can catch the ball just as good as anyone in this class.

@jrry32 @Memento Either of you looked at Jayden Daniels? Or anybody else for that matter. I get Florida's defense has issues but that was a pretty impressive performance last night. I'm pretty sure Jrry has talked about him a bit before but he looked great.

I had him as a 3'rd round pick in my Oct. 9 updated Mock (post #24)

My latest mock no longer has a QB since I now favor re-signing Carson Wentz. The emergence of Kyren Williams & Royce Freeman has also lowered my expectations for a highly drafted RB.

Jayden Daniels has since moved himself up as a likely 1'st round talent.

That air yards avg is the one thing that gives me pause with Nix. He's impressive in a lot of ways but that would worry me if he's the pick. Daniels definitely doesn't have that problem.

I'm starting to wonder if the Rams will consider the Georgia kid. He's got good size and tools.

Love his release and his mechanics. And yes he has great size for a QB. Plus we need all the Georgia QB's.

Would be funny if we draft him and Stetson returns.

Gotta love these mocks I have done some that defied logic on where I took players.
The other day I did one where Maye fell to 14 :laugh4: Talk about a steal!

Why do I feel that way? Sweat and Stackhouse have zero pass rush. I worry a lot about Sweat's work ethic, and Stackhouse is just a body with no potential to improve. If I'm getting a nose tackle, it would be Dontay Corleone; while he may have only a bit more pass-rushing potential than Sweat and Stackhouse, he's one of the best run-stuffing NTs in the country.

Nix was atrocious at Auburn. Like, very, VERY bad. Like, he got benched at Auburn - who didn't really have any better quarterbacks - bad. Granted, he is doing a lot better at Oregon, but so is D.J. Uiagalelei at Oregon State, and we're not thinking of getting him. I can't get past his Auburn tape; it's horrid. And I don't want to take that chance with a first round pick.

Give me Quinn Ewers or McCarthy with a late first, but not Nix. I just have a bad feeling we're going to take him, though; I don't remember the last time the draft has gone my way.

Both were 18 their first year of stats?
Nix tried to push through it running a Non-Pro style college offense and a shitty team before he transferred.

-Guy played his first season as an 18 year old for a HC that got fired and an interim coach afterward.
-Next year he played for a coach at 19 with a horrible offense.
-Following year HC got fired for his shitty coaching and finished with an interim HC.

Imagine him doing better in Oregon with a good support staff, offensive HC and a Pro Style offense? Guy has been through it all just exactly like I heard people say Goff was in college the same exact way.

In this past draft the Rams focused on players that had to overcome something and fight to get to where they are. Maybe Nix’s path will make them feel that he’s a fit.

But I don’t like his air yards per attempt. I want a guy who can scramble and still chuck it with accuracy.

So I believe the rest of the year will showcase how they go. If Stafford gets hurt again, then I believe they will look for their future QB. However, if Stafford can play the rest of the year and play well, then I believe they could go in the direction you have so eloquently communicated.
You could be right. However this QB class is a pretty good one to find a QB with starter potential.

If they don’t go QB in round one I really like Illinois DT Johnny Newton. He’s 300lb but he can move and creates pressure. McVay has spoken about the need to pressure the QB more. He said that guys like that are erasers. I think they pursue an edge rusher in free agency and if they really want to amp up that pass rush, then Newton could give them an elite pass rushing front 5 with AD and Turner inside and Young and maybe Hunter on the edge.

That move would fix anything that’s ailing the DBs. Currently the Rams have one of the worst time to throw stats in the league at 2.5 seconds. That’s not factoring in scrambling QBs that are not contained.

They could draft an edge in round 1. Elite first round edge rusher can transition into great Pros in their first season. But I don’t think the Rams will be in position to draft an Aiden Hutchinson type player.
I’ve seen Chop Robinson projected into the teens. I don’t know why. He’s a great OLB with a non stop motor. Newton is projected in the same area. In most drafts I think those two are easily top ten picks. But the potential for 4-5 QBs going in the top ten pushes every other player down the board.

Starting to like this guy more and more when I watch him. I know this isn't the greatest quality liking his fire.
Liking Daniel's? The kid can play that's for sure. If we draft a 1st round QB I'm liking him a lot.

I don’t know if there is a perfect prospect that you like 100% of everything.

I like the adversity he’s faced and he was able to meet it eye to eye and defeat it. Only certain type of personalities have that trait. Added to his accuracy, height/weight combo and fast processor I like him as a prospect.

Traded down a couple times, missed out on the Patrick Paul who I was targeting because I waited one pick to many but like this draft overall. Also for the record I doubt the first 2 picks last that long in the real draft :D
