Fans are not privy to what the asking prices were from various GMs. Some stuff will leak but we will never know for sure. Perhaps the Rams tried but the price was just not worth paying.
I am very sceptical, however, that we could not have improved upon our edge and/or RB situation without breaking the bank. It would not require a big-name player, or even a tier 2 player, to improve upon those position rooms.
It is nice seeing the Rams have some draft capital, but I think the lack of moves made to address the roster was mistake.
There is no rule that says any player acquired has to be a rental. We could have identified players that would be part of the plan into next year or even the year beyond.
