They are giving up a lot no doubt, but who knows what other teams might be offering. The Jets will have to eat alot of dead cap so they would have to feel compensated.
Colts look tough to beat, but they got to get by the Bills and Chiefs and that will take a good D.

We might even have to let Lake or McCreary go into free agency; can't guarantee we sign everyone, and Nacua and Turner should be our number one and two priorities for next year.

Interesting! I would have agreed with you before the season, but now I see it almost completely opposite.

If Young leads the league in sacks, you can't trade him. You don't trade that type of player - I think there's a law against that somewhere. League leaders are not good-to-great; they're elite.

OTOH, I love Turner, he's a defensive captain, and as you said a lynchpin on that Dl. But he's replaceable. We've been so good at drafting DL that he would be much easier to replace than a sack leader.

We already have Ford, Fiske, Davis, and Hamilton. BTW, Ford is the best run stuffer on the team followed by Tyler Davis. Both of those guys are studs and have had higher run defense stops and stop percentage, this year and last. Turner is better all-round, but let's not get carried away in saying he's better in run defense.

Right now if I had to choose 2 between Nacua, Turner, and Young I'm going with Nacua and Young.

But I get why you would choose Turner.

I would have been happy with the Rams trading for him at that price. And I think our defense would destroy teams with that dude eliminating the top wideout of opposing offenses. We'd look like one of those rare defenses with a top corner behind this front.

But I don't know much about him. Whether he's an asswipe or whatever. But the kid can shut it down and with a good DC I'd like our chances to get full return.

Definitely not worth it. Sauce was not a shutdown corner these last 2 years. Good? Yes, but that price was too steep, especially since ATL's pick may be in the top 10.

I disagree about the Jets drafting well, they have struck out multiple times at QB & LT, in the end those positions are what matters most.

It took him a while and he wasn’t fixed until Shanahan & O’Connell, so regardless the Jets failed and until they get the QB position right they will continue to be out of the playoff conversation by October.
 
We can only guess how successful the Jets will be with all these premium picks over the next two Drafts.

Plenty of legit criticism for prior drafts but those were different GMs. Current GM is Darren Mougey (40), was with Denver his entire career (13 years), where he held numerous front office positions and steadily moved-up the ranks.

Mougey's first draft this past-April resulted in the Jets' current starting RT (Armand Membou / #7 overall) and TE (Mason Taylor / #42) ... both look pretty good early-on; plus 3rd and 4th round picks Azareye'h Thomas (CB), Arian Smith (WR) and Malachi Moore (S) ... who are all getting significant reps.

Too early to draw any conclusions.

The Jets owner (Woody Johnson) is a fucking moron but I don't think he forces drafting decisions ... Quarterback being a possible exception ... and, a huge one.
