I prefer the Rams draft their weapons. Though Diggs is interesting because the Rams have not shown a good eye for the X role in the draft, so he'd upgrade them there and as far as weapons in the draft are concerned slot would remain the top need and there are good options for them to choose from in just about every round, certainly the first three or four.

I suppose as long as he's not too pricey he'd be fine as an addition and he'd add speed outside the hash. I don't like his age nor his diva nature but a short term deal to try to make sure 9's got the weapons he needs sounds good to me.
I'd much rather pay extra for Godwin. He's younger and frankly better then Diggs. Also doesn't come with the diva attitude. Bucs could potentially still tag Godwin however. He blocks and runs routes with the best of them, a perfect marriage for the Rams.

Godwin would plug right into the slot for us. Then we'd be looking at CB or X with that pick at 26 as the slot would be solved.

I just don't see the reason though to sign a slot when there are such good options, big ass targets from the TE group, who should be on the board at 26. Unless they know they're gonna go defense I guess.

I wouldn't say its interesting as the LT tag is projected to be just over 25 million. He's not getting that amount along with that as a one year cap hit.
Wouldnt be paying that necessarily as they would then have until mid June to work out a long term deal

Yeah I hear you there, but to me, that's giving him more financial leverage and reeks of desperation. I don't think thats a sound negotiating move on the Rams part. However, I think they'll hammer out a deal before it even gets to that point.

Disagree there, just showing commitment to the guy and buying time to negotiate.
Right now AJax has all the leverage, tagging him gives leverage back to the Rams. I dont think he's getting anywhere close to 25 mill per season on an open market, but I am certain he will get more than 25 mill guaranteed

They have his average right at like 14.5 on sporttrac. Curious asf what we end up offering/giving him.

Possibly, I'd have to look at the numbers, but if they want him I'd rather they get him signed now though that's unlikely. His agent will push to test the free agent market unless the Rams wow him with an offer IMO.
If they do a transition tag, that allows him to test the FA market and then the Rams can match it.

Yes but what happens when a team with a lot of cap desperate for a LT comes in and offers him what the franchise tag would be or even more the first couple years? You've now backed yourself into a corner to either over pay (more than you want to pay) your LT or you're going to have to draft one.

He doesn't have all the leverage. If he asks for too much, the Rams will do what they normally do and not pony up if they feel he's surpassing what they are ok with paying. Using the franchise tag is only used if they are comfortable paying close to that amount as Ajax's agent would push for a bigger contract by the Rams doing that and showing desperation. There are such things as overplaying his hand here but I'm hoping that doesn't happen, but....does it leave us without a LT if he does? Yes....but doesn't mean the Rams can't pivot to another LT option. Who that may be is anyone's guess.

We could sign Notebust as our LT.

A couple other players to keep an eye on are Ronnie Stanley and Erik McCoy (C).

Noteboom has actually played in more games than Stanley over the past five seasons.
