Maybe the Rams think Hoecht is a tweener, as in not a good fit for a 3-4 defense. But he might be a very good defensive end in a 4-3. I like the guy, personally, and hope the Rams can bring him back.
I agree, he was a bit miscast in a 3-4 but think he would make a good outside DE in a 4-3. He wouldn't be asked to cover anything man to man at least lol.

Rams love these types of "Free agents" can throw the kitchen sink at them without worrying about the comp picks
Exactly what I was thinking.

His Dad and agent talked him into it. That spring he was instantly disappointed with his decision. Watching the video it really seemed like his heart was to stay with the Rams and play with AD.
In my opinion, a player of that age and experience should not be ‘talked into’ something by an agent who’s only priority is $; or, by his ‘Daddy’.

Oh I agree totally. He looked like a fool in that video. Or should I say a child. With the amount of money that he’s already made, his Dad should have said, go with your heart son.

The Bills released return man Dieonte Harty. I wish the Rams would sign him. He can fly.
Buffalo could see a lot of talent going out-the-door.

Starting Center Mitch Morse, starting Safety Jordan Poyer and starting CB (when healthy) Tre'Davious White were all part of their success over the past five seasons.

Solid depth ... OL Ryan Bates, RB Nyheim Hines, KR Deonte Hardy, ST Siran Neal were all let go.

Starters and top reserves Leonard Floyd, Gabe Davis, DaQuan Jones and A.J. Epenesa are all about to become free agents.

And, I'm probably missing a couple guys.

Poyer is still a good player. I’d like it if the Rams signed him along with Harty.

I’d bring Floyd back, and give Daquon Jones a look. Jones is good depth. Floyd can shore up Edge in case they don’t get an NFL ready edge in the draft. Neither should break the bank.

But, they aren’t likely to do any of those things. They were trying to sign JJ and Fuller. They don’t value returns or returners, they will likely draft an edge, and stick with their lesser depth pieces on the DLine like Ernest Brown and Murchison.

Murchison is an unrestricted free agent; and Brown signed with the 49ers last month.

Brown was one of the few Rams' practice squad players not signed to a Reserves/Futures contract.

I totally missed the Brown signing. I hope they upgrade over Murchison. His first start was so promising but he hasn’t done much since.

It seems that teams are back to devaluing the position.
Yep and the RB market is flooded to with premier FA talent, a great class. Interesting to see how this will affect the next years classes at these 2 positions.

The $$$ grab by Miller didn’t work out well for him or the Bills. Im not sure I understand players that do this when they’ve already made enough $$$ to cover the next 3 generations of their family for an extremely comfortable life. And I don’t want to hear about chasing another ring. He already had multiple.
Ever had to keep a lifestyle up? Property taxes on multiple houses is a b*tch.
