Would love to have him, but the other issue about him not likley staying is that he is an upper Midwest dude who loves hunting/shooting, the outdoors, etc... So I don't see Cali being his cup of tea. Maybe not a big deal, but I am sure he would prefer a more hunter friendly or conservative type state if possible.

I honestly would not have minded a designed QB run on one of those red zone trips, on an early down, as long as Stafford would give himself up immediately if it looked like there was ever any chance of taking a hit. I don't think the Lions would have ever seen it coming. Could have been a good play to get some positive yardage early. Maybe 2, 3, or even 4 yards. Set yourself up nicely for subsequent downs. That would have been a lot more positive yardage than what many of these play calls were giving us.

It was not even so much the fact that we passed (although I would have liked to see some more runs!). Stafford was on a heater. And Detroit's secondary is their weak spot. It is the fades that bothered me.

It's not like we have big targets with long wing spans, that have a big advantage when going up to high-point a ball, like a Mike Evans, or even a supremely talented high-jumper, like a Deion Sanders, who could be counted on to jump his way to making up seemingly 2 feet in height differential. Our WRs are all medium-to-small in stature, with arm length proportional to their frames, and not exactly high jumping specialists.

Even Stafford isn't really a "touch" QB. He can put just the right touch on the ball, for sure But his arm strength is his best attribute. I'd rather ask him to just rifle it quickly into a window before it closes, rather than place perfect touch on the football.

I agree. Maher is mentally broken now. Zero way I send him out there in that pressure filled situation, in that crazy loud stadium, to kick from that distance. If it was 40 yards out or even 50 yards out that is a completely different scenario.

I'd much rather have went for it on 4th down than punt. But I am not so sure kicking the FG over punting would have been wise. Not with the way our defence was playing in that 2nd half. A quick 3 and out, statistically, I think had more chances of success than Maher hitting the FG. I'd have been okay kicking. But I do think punting was likely safer.

Going for it on 4th down would have been the best option of the 3. Even if we don't convert, maybe it draws a penalty.

I'm surprised GM candidates aren't poached from the Rams

Considering the success of Brad Holmes and Les Snead's ability to mine the drafts without first round picks, I'm surprised that more interest in potential GM candidates aren't directed at the Rams. Someone like James Gladstone. He's young but has been with the Rams for 8 years in a scouting role, with the last 3 years as Director of Scouting Strategy, in which he works closely with Les Snead in developing and executing Snead's draft strategy.

He couldn't have a better mentor than Snead. His experience directly translates to the role of an NFL GM and Holme's quick turn around of the Lion's franchise illustrates how important the GM is to the process. I would expect Goldstone to eventually hit the radar of teams, especially say the Chargers who play in the same building. The problem with the Chargers and a lot of franchises is at the GM level, coupled with incompetent ownership.

Anyone who understands team building knows it starts with having a good GM. A poor GM isn't going to hire a good HC.

Sad - when you talk Higbee $ Cap.WOW -his knee cap went every which way.

I don’t know what will happen with him ? I’ll say when The Rams signed him mid season.I was a little upset.He has always been a solid Ram though.

The Bengals game - one bogus overturn and we lose by 3...

49ers game - we let them score at the end of the half - Kyren drops a pass right into the 49ners hands.

Steelers game on the 35 with a 1st down about to make the game a two-score game and come away with nothing....

Ravens game - driving down the field for winning TD - we can't get the play in and half to burn a time out - settle for a tie.

Detroit game - on the edge of FG ranger or better..... dropped pass by Higbee, then questionable calls and knocked out of scoring range.

We also had multiple games where we make a play here or there and it's a bigger blowout (redskins, saints ect)

In the end, we just don't have enough talent on both sides to separate or finish the games - or to overcome the consistently shitty officiating.

With some fee money for next year, this should be a different story.

You know what I think we all inherently loved about this team? It’s the draft picks. It feels like what Sean wants to build, and obviously it’s easy to say in hindsight because they absolutely nailed this draft. Nevertheless, it was the most fun McVay team yet (besides, of course, the SB team). They’re home grown and it’ll be awesome to see them develop. Let’s hope we can get a mix of a strong draft and solid FA signings. If we can pull that off, I wouldn’t be surprised if we get to the Super Bowl.
