It was not even so much the fact that we passed (although I would have liked to see some more runs!). Stafford was on a heater. And Detroit's secondary is their weak spot. It is the fades that bothered me.
It's not like we have big targets with long wing spans, that have a big advantage when going up to high-point a ball, like a Mike Evans, or even a supremely talented high-jumper, like a Deion Sanders, who could be counted on to jump his way to making up seemingly 2 feet in height differential. Our WRs are all medium-to-small in stature, with arm length proportional to their frames, and not exactly high jumping specialists.
Even Stafford isn't really a "touch" QB. He can put just the right touch on the ball, for sure But his arm strength is his best attribute. I'd rather ask him to just rifle it quickly into a window before it closes, rather than place perfect touch on the football.
