Kromer did come up under Bill Callahan who is known for running a ZBS. Regardless, Kromer uses OLs who look more like PBS blockers than ZBS blockers (in that they're big maulers). So even if we are running a hybrid zone scheme under him, I think our FA signings will more resemble power blockers than zone blockers.

I was done with Quick after his second season. One thing this team needs is some character. Professionals that take their job very seriously. That is one thing the Patriots do very well. When a team has an overall feel of professionalism it rubs off on incoming players. I have heard that about free agents that come to the New York Yankees for years. Picking these low character types in favor of their immense athleticism is a big mistake IMO. Guys with low character are never team players. They are me players and that is why they ended up in trouble at one time or another to get the lable.

Kind of weird EC's attitude considering he was a running back. Usually that narrative is used by players on defense with respect to the rules changes encouraging scoring through the air. For a running back other than no helmet to helmet contact and no horse collar tackling the game hasn't really changed much. At least not compared to the QB and WRs.

I sure miss all the time spent on highlighting the cheerleaders during the games 30-40 years ago. Those ladies are not paid and work very hard so they deserve to be the only thing shown on commercial breaks, with the paid adverts being a line scroll at the bottom of the screen. Am I right?

I must respectfully disagree. No game plan can overcome officiating that is determined to see a team lose. The fix was in from the beginning as the league office later proved by destroying the evidence of Spygate/Tapegate since proof of the taping of the Rams SB36 walkthrough would have been too great a scandal calling into question the integrity of the most wagered upon game of every year.

The officials, the league office, and even the sports media were in lockstep. The fix was in and the Rams and their fans were robbed.

@Selassie I, you nailed it. I would think Quinn was experienced enough to tell Kyle run the ball which runs the clock and then give yourself a chance to go up by 11. SMH at the play calling. Also, the 2nd and 3rd worst things happened during that sequence of events (1st would have been a turnover.) Ryan takes a sack and Matthews gets called for holding. What the hell were the coaches thinking? Tough lesson to learn. This loss is going to set them back quite a bit next year, and add to it losing your OC and possibly another coach or two. Jimmy Johnson mentioned in the post-game show the Falcons will be back in the SB next year. After last night, they will be lucky to just get back into the playoffs.

I also noticed during the 4th quarter Ryan looked panicked at times. There were a couple sequences where it looked like chaos getting the play in and then lined up. All comes down to lack of experience by the Falcons. When the Patriots cut it to 8, I told my wife the Falcons are going to blow this.

I absolutely agree. The taping was bad enough but when the officials were determined to take your game away from you from the very start you are screwed. Football is the easiest game for the officials to do just that and the silence from the media after that grand theft was deafening.

The Rams had no chance winning SB36. The Patriots were anointed by the league office to be the face of the resurgent USA post 9/11. Rams were depicted as dark ominous and brooding during the pregame shows while the Patriots were the bright respectful dutiful underdogs. A Kurt Warner lead team as dark ominous and brooding....yes Virginia it was the Twilight Zone. Every time I hear a know nothing talking head claim the officials 'just let them play' I want to break things. There was (maybe still is?) a website made by a Rams fan that documented in great detail all the glaring no calls by the officials that kept the Patriots in the game in SB36. Must see TV for all Rams fans not old enough to have seen the theft or haven't heard about it.

SB36 was stolen from the Rams because of a Public Relations campaign for Uncle Sam. I'm proud of Faulk for speaking his mind. I hope now that Kurt has his gold jacket that he too will be more forthcoming with what he knows about the theft of SB36. Same for Mike Martz who became the ultimate loser due to the theft besides us Rams fans. NEVER FORGET.

Jim Brown never talked about injuries during his playing days. This attitude helped to preserve his aura on invincibility. It was only in the decades after his retirement that we found out he played through broken toes and other ailments that defenders never even dreamed he had, no matter how hard they sought to jack him up.

I'm going to pull back some on Reddick after some reflection. Von Miller and Vic Beasley won in similar ways in college. In fact, people had a lot of the same concerns about Beasley when he was a prospect. I think Reddick is a freakish enough athlete to play on the edge. I also think he's a freakish enough athlete to play inside. Not sure where he'll end up.

Unfortunately, this realization also makes me think that he's going to be long gone by the time our 2nd round pick comes around. That will become especially likely when he runs a 4.45 to 4.55 40, posts a 40+ inch VJ, and a ridiculous three cone drill time for his size.
