Adam Shaheen

I wouldn't take him there at 37 but I could see the Rams doing that. It's dangerous and a position you don't normally get year one return on, but he does have some very high upside/potential. I'm still suffering from Brian Quick's selection in round 2 though and it sure would be nice to find an impact year one guy there at that spot.

Sources: Dean Blandino to get TV job after leaving NFL officiating post

NEW YORK -- Officiating director Dean Blandino is leaving the NFL to spend more time with his family and explore other opportunities.

Blandino has been the league's vice president of officiating since 2013 and has overseen several changes in the way the game has been officiated, with an emphasis on player safety.

"Dean has done an outstanding job leading our officiating staff," NFL vice president Troy Vincent said in a memo to NFL executives, presidents, general managers and head coaches that was obtained by ESPN. "He's been a trusted colleague and a friend to so many of us around the league.

Dean's knowledge of the playing rules, his tireless commitment to improving the quality of NFL officiating, and his unquestioned dedication to his job has earned him the respect of the entire football community."

The memo said Blandino will remain with the NFL until at least the end of May, and a search for a successor has already begun.

The 45-year-old Blandino has young children and the demands of his job have limited the time he has spent with them and his wife. Sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter that Blandino is expected to go into broadcasting as a rules analyst and has had discussions with multiple networks.

Blandino joined the NFL in 1994 as an intern and moved through the ranks. He was an instant replay official from 1999-2003 and worked two Super Bowls and two conference championship games.

He managed the NFL's instant replay program from 2003-2009, and from 2007-2009 he was director of officiating, supervising day-to-day operations and the game officials' schedule under Mike Pereira.

He left the NFL in 2009 to form his own company, returned in 2012 and succeeded Carl Johnson as chief of officiating the next year.

During his three years away from the NFL, Blandino launched "Under the Hood," which provided training and evaluation for replay officials. His clients included the NFL and college conferences such as the Big Ten, Mid-American, Pac-12, Big 12, and Mountain West. He directed instant replay clinics for the NFL and NCAA and served as a liaison to the NFL's competition committee.

Blandino has been a strong voice on the powerful competition committee that suggests rules changes. Those changes have included eliminating chop blocks; decreasing the number of kickoff returns -- football's most dangerous play statistically -- by moving up the kickoff; and expansion of defenseless player parameters to include snappers and other players.

This season, the use of Surface tablets by referees for video replay will be instituted. Under Blandino, the NFL's central office in New York has conferred with referees on replay decisions since 2014. Now, that office, albeit without Blandino, will make the final call.

Blandino also been open with the teams, media and public when officiating errors have been made, while also staunchly defending his officials when their calls have been correct.

Among the other noteworthy moves by his officiating department was the hiring of line judge Sarah Thomas as the first full-time female NFL official in 2015.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Hopefully at least they will replace him with someone that does not party with Jerry Jones in public. Well Dean, don't let the door hit ya, where the good Lord split ya.

NASA: Saturn's moon, Enceladus, could support life

If this is an advertisement, i'll go ... under a few conditions. The following must be included :

1) Jennifer Lawrence
2) Lifetime supply of food/alcohol/weed of our choice. Oh yeah, don't forget the papers & lighters.
3) Large Air tight pre-fab home with built-in swimming pool, jacuzzi, green house.
4) Man cave with billiard & air hockey table, large screen TV & signal for all Rams games with a lifetime guarantee.
5) Solar panels, wind turbine & batteries for above.
6) 2 electric powered ATV's along with 2 spacesuits.
7) A second house with all the makings of the first so that after she throws me out due to my abundance of 'needs', I can put in another request.

By the way, how long does it take for a TV signal to reach this place. Will I be watching a Sunday morning football game on a Friday night ? Doesn't matter, but I do need to schedule my week.
My demands would be the same but I would demand a third house and

In it
And

In the second so when Jennifer Lawerence kicks me out I have options! :sneaky:

Several Rams defensive players are due for an extension

I'd say Rams sign Ogletree to an extension pretty soon (Donald will get his eventually) and I think as for Johnson, Alexander, Joyner, and Gaines - it's all about how well they perform this year.

IMHO, the automatics are Aaron Donald, Ogletree and Joyner. I'd add Connor Barwin to my wish list. Trumaine Johnson doesn't want to sign long term or at least not at a reasonable number. Alexander should be easy and affordable to extend if they choose. Gaines, Davis, Easley, Westbrooks and Walker have to shine in order to get one. Let's hope Webster and Robey are better than expected and we draft a corner or three in the next two drafts.

Jrry32 Cooper Kupp Mock Draft

A team that dropped the ball as much as we have over the past few years isn't a team I'd describe as having possession WRs.
OK.You will get no argument on this point.lol.
Glad to see 2 of those culprits gone.

But I'll also point out that 40 times don't really give you an accurate picture of what a WR can do
True.

You will not get a argument from me on the talent of Kupp.I love what he brings to the table. He is my kind of receiver.
I am just a bit worried that defenses would be able to sit down on the short game, without that vertical threat.
But then again,we aint playing fisherball anymore. The Schemes will be legit.

Love talking football and I appreciate your input 32.
Meanwhile,I'm going to check out some game film
of this Kittle kid you like.

Hypothetical: "trading up" trade suggestions

He already is signed.
For 1 year guaranteed at 16.7 mill.
They can sign him long term up to July 15th, and I don't see how they can restructure a 1 year deal.
I'm no cap/contract specialist but it seems to me Tru needs to sign an extension to be able to move that money around
Sorry, signing him to an extension was what I meant. It would have to be an agreement in advance between the teams and the players, but TJ would get the security of a long term contract with a contending team, the Rams get the second round pick they said they wanted in return for him, the Saints get a CB who is already NFL ready rather than waiting for a rookie and Cleveland get more draft capital and use up some unwanted cap space. I'm not seeing a downside for anyone.

Rumors swirl that Rams are pursuing Peyton Manning for front office

One speculation I saw elsewhere was KD went into a similar role as now but higher up in the Kroenke sports world and Peyton went a step above Snead. Just a thought I saw posted.

I recall seeing the same thing, forget where though. That KD would move into overall administration to include things like the stadium build in addition to some of his current duties.

Welp, I see 2 big holes and 2 big question marks on this team...

I was just wondering if Snead & McVay may have a strong opinion that iit may be very wise to fully discover the present hidden & cloaked Offensive treasures on this roster first ? Snead fully knows that he has invested heavily in the last two draft on the offensive side. I am sure he has not failed to bring up to HC McVay that over the last 2 Ram drafts 12 out of 15 picks were utilize on OFFENSE! In addition some of the most interesting UDFA's signed over this same period of time were on offense too.

Players like:
TE- Tyler Higbee a converted wide out who was injured most of his rookie season.

WR- Pharoh Cooper is a all-purpose player who was injured most of his rookie season

TE/SL/WR- Temarrick Hemingway now this Ram is a odd one...not your typical tight end prospect frame more like a very tall WR who is supper fluid with pass-receiving ability that said would take time developing.

WR- Thomas- shown to hit explosive play after explosive play when left in the lineup.

WR- Nelson Spruce-Injured entire rookie season but in college has proven to be polished, dependable route-runner with the soft hands.

WR- Marquez North- Previous a four-star prospect, injured his entire rookie season known to be highly reliable, soft hands, snatches ball away from his frame and gets upfield quickly-

Just how much of this talent was developed or even utilized on the field? Now after one & two seasons with the following Unsuccessful coaches like Frank Ciginetti Jr., Rob Boras, Dave McGinnis, Ray Sherman & Paul Boudreau working with these former draft selections & UDFA's just maybe there is more here buried than we may think? In conclusion can McVay really finally figure out how to utilize & unlock the mystery of WR Tavon Austin ?
