I think this^ may have been the Case going into the 1999 Season, even though we had B-R-U-U-C-E, Holt was a rookie and everyone else Az and Proehl where unproven! And then BAM!!!!! Just speaking to the WR's!

Always loved Wade as a Defensive Coordinator, he's an "all shucks" type of guy who is calm, cool and collected and lulls you into a false sense of security and than, "Wham." His defense punches you right in the mouth. Only man who's been able to stop Tom Brady & Belichick in their tracks, well, him and Steve Spagnuolo, but I strongly believe in the combination of Phillips & McVay.

I couldn't agree with you more Coach! I will be surprised if the Rams "D" doesn't Rank in the Top 5 at the end of the Year! The only thing that could slow them down, IMHO, is IF the Rams "O" plays poorly! Which I doubt with McVay at the helm!! All signs are pointing up!!(y):D

Ezekiel Elliott wants to be more like Marshall Faulk.

The Cowboys running back, who led the league in rushing as a rookie, wants his growth to follow that of Faulk. Elliott calls the Hall of Famer a complete running back.

“With now being more comfortable in this offense and not really worrying about having to learn what I have to do, I kind of want to grow more as an overall player,” Elliott said, via Matt Mosley and Ed Werder in The Doomsday Podcast.

“One of the guys I looked up to growing up playing football was Marshall Faulk. You hear stories about him about how he was kind of like a second quarterback back there with Kurt Warner. So this offseason, I’ve just been focusing on kind of learning the offense outside of roles.

I’m just kind of being able to be back there and be helpful to Dak [Prescott] and just kind of … learning what everyone else is doing and how I fit into my job.”

A big storyline this offseason has been the Cowboys’ intention to use Elliott more in the passing game. Elliott had only 32 catches for 363 yards and a touchdown last season.

Faulk caught 52 passes for 522 yards and a touchdown in his rookie season of 1994. In a five-year stretch from 1998, his final season in Indianapolis, to 2002, Faulk averaged 83 catches per season.

“For sure I think I can [do that],” Elliott said. “Just when you follow Marshall Faulk’s career you see in his earlier career he was definitely involved in the passing game, but he was more of a guy who kind of got grinded down.

He had a lot of carries and really rushed for great numbers when he was in Indianapolis, and then kind of as he got older, he grew more as a player. I just like the fact that he was a guy who was great in all aspects of the game.”

Parking fee's just went up. Last year it was $10 a day, this year $14 unless you buy in advance but then you have to buy for all the sessions. Don't know if I can make all of them.

One last thing, I created a twitter account just for this event. I'll need some help on how to post and what hashtag (or like us old timers call it, pound sign) would be the most useful.

Little more than a month away! Can't wait!

We'll never now how Stedman Bailey would have turned out, and I'll throw TJ McDonald in there as well. Even Tre Mason had a great rookie year. Too bad non-football circumstances led to their outings.

How can you not? Seriously? The only and I repeat only pro bowlers out of all those first round picks are Gurley and ofc Donald.

The reason why it keeps getting brought up is because we whiffed, and whiffed badly on the majority of those picks.

If you go back and read closely you see I'm not talking about a GM and head coaching combo I'm talking about Jeff Fishers personal decisions since contractually he was the top of the food chain as far as personal went.

I don't know how many other ways you can put it so that other Ram fans can catch up and understand that.

A lot of those players you mentioned are below average to average on productions with very few above average.

That's how it constantly gets brought up.

Just my opinion, but I don't find value in comparing players that I never saw play.
And with baseball, the answer is pretty simple. Nobody is putting up Babe Ruth numbers these days .370 BA 50+ HR, and nobody is coming close to the Walter Johnson type either, 300+ innings & 30+ wins
So in football, todays numbers blow away the old school while in baseball its reverse.
Either way though, IMO I only like to compare players from my generation, based on what I saw them do.

In 2017, Decker will earn a base salary of $1,350,000 and a signing bonus of $2,500,000, while carrying a cap hit of $3,850,000 and a dead cap value of $2,500,000.

Mercy or good deal for both parties?

Considering the two surgeries that Decker had this off season, both parties have some protection and some risk. The Titans have the 2.5 M up front risk should Decker get another injury that effects making the roster and only the 3.85 M for the season. They both share the bonus risk and would be happy if he makes it. Decker takes less money upfront to prove himself before and after the season. If he balls out to 800-1000 yards and 10 TD it becomes a really good deal and he gets paid. (Don't know the incentives but, assume he would get them with these numbers.)

I do see how having another veteran could be a help to Goff. I'm told the Rams could find the money but, why spend more when they have Woods and invested in him. I was leaning toward not wanted either Decker or Macklin for a year or two. If the Rams were closer to being a SB contender I wouldn't mind this deal. Instead they need to see what they have and go from there.

But for this year, I don't expect to see a contending team - progress is more important than W/L for me this year
