DzRams' Rams 7 Round Mock Draft

For this draft to work for me, the Rams would have to nail those first 2 picks. I have no problem drafting the “LT of the future” as long as the second pick satisfies a deficiency on the defensive side of the ball. If the Rams drafted those two guys and they were who the Rams expected them to be…successful draft.

As for the rest of your mock, we all have our favorite day 3 guys.
One of yours does happen to appear on my mock:
Nathaniel Watson (ILB)
If the Rams can get him that late, they should sprint to hand in their card.

In a deep draft it’s hard to get a grip on the best 100 players or in which order

In a separate report the say that Javon Baker and Jalen McMillan will both outplay their draft position in a deep WR draft. There are some interesting names on this list that some here have mentioned

Av’s FINAL Rams 7 Round Mock Draft

Fashanu is a bit unrefined for my taste in RD 1. Tons of measurables and potential but lacking consistency and natural instinct at this stage--Per scouting reports I've read, and using the eyeball check.

But I am often way off on my projections so there is that.

My overall goal would be to get a very high floor player in RD 1 or else I move back.

Having said that I am sure Fashanu will now be a first ballot Hall of famer.
He’s a pretty refined pass blocker (no sacks allowed over 2 years at LT). He will need development as a run blocker, but I see him as a day 1 starter.

Report: Los Angeles Rams 'Sniffing Around' On QB Prospects

If Bennett is back and things are resolved I think he has what they need in a backup QB. But when a player falls out like that teams tend to be wary. So I'd imagine he is on the bubble and may face a rookie challenge from this draft.

Clearly QB2 is a priority and with Jimmy this year it is covered. But it seems like they want a young ascending type in the backup role. So I'd imagine we see a round 4-7 addition.

And if they are sweet on any of the higher slotted QBs they are possibilities too. Keep saying for example that Penix is a fit. Don't know the personality and interview side but if that kid is there at 19 I would think long and hard before passing on him.

I think they would like to have that Green Bay setup, where the next guy is on the roster and vetted before they change over to him.
I think Pratt is worth a shot. He’s got the character they like and ran three different offenses in college and was still lead all three teams well. If anyone loves football it’s this kid. He’d be a good one to sit and learn.

I couldn’t trust Bennett at this point. QB is the most important position on the field.

( if the Rams do take a tackle in round one, maybe it’s because they question Aleric Jackson’s commitment to football. He did take off a game for family matters down the stretch)

Rams draft history for reference

Here's a list of all our drafts. Might be a good thing to look at to see how much last year was an outlier.

1 starter and a bunch of good role players would be a good draft. 2 starters and any change would be fantastic.

Also, Rams did quite well when you factor in the lack of 1sts the last few years.
One thing for sure, the further you go down the worse the record was. That includes Snead and Fisher which was still a major upgrade.

To what you said, we should be in positions to draft possible starters at many positions - an ILB to go with Jones; WR3, Nickel, FS, K, OT, DE, KR (which could be a RB) and obviously Edge; possibly even an outside CB. DT, even if taken high, are most likely to play in rotation.

I am really excited because of the experience and talent in this draft class. It will take a terrible GM to come away with virtually nothing. I will put my neck on the line and say we draft at minimum 4 starters this season

I am also excited to see who we bring in as priority FA because many players who would have been drafted in prior years will sadly not hear their name called

Most glaring need

However, I also remember the frustration on the Game Day threads last season when another team would methodically march down the field without us getting near their qb and the inevitable secondary lapses that would give up a big third down play.
I think our 10-7 and postseason finish made me forget how many teams marched down the field with their opening drives for 7. That was ugly and rough indeed.
