Rams Fantasy Draft 2018

Revisiting after seeing the following article -
https://theramswire.usatoday.com/20...raft-trade-value-chart-2018-order-every-pick/

Here’s how much value each of the Rams’ picks carries:

  • Round 3 (No. 87): 155
  • Round 4 (No. 111): 72
  • Round 4 (No. 135): 38
  • Round 4 (No. 136): 37.5
  • Round 6 (No. 176): 20.6
  • Round 6 (No. 183): 17.8
  • Round 6 (No. 194): 14.3
  • Round 6 (No. 195): 14
The trade value chart, which was devised by Jimmy Johnson during his time with the Cowboys, isn’t a hard-and-fast rule for teams. It’s merely a starting point when discussing trades in the draft and how a team might be able to move up or down.

That being said, here are a few potential trade-up ideas for the Rams:

  1. Nos. 87, 135 and 176 (213.6 points) for Raiders’ third-round pick, No. 75 (215 points) - picking up Josey Jewell - ILB - Iowa
  2. Nos. 111 and 135 (110 points) for Cardinals’ third-round pick, No. 97 (112 points) - picking up Jeff Holland - EDGE - Auburn
  3. Nos. 176 and 194 (34.9 points) for Seahawks’ fifth-round pick, No. 141 (35 points) - picking up Will Clapp - OC - LSU

R.I.P. Barbara Bush!!

I wasn’t an adult when she and her husband were in office so I don’t have any time to know anything of her really and I’m a bit shocked because i never heard anybody speak anything of her before especially the nice things until she passed? Is this just me? Or maybe I didn’t notice?

How do you get in on action at the sports book ?
Depending on what phone or browser you're using you'll see a top portion of the screen that looks like this:

sportsbook.PNG

Move your cursor over whatever you have as the 3-dot icon and a drop down list should appear. Move the cursor to the Sportsbook and click on it. That will take you to the Sportsbook, (which is separate from this forum). Depending on whatever current events are available it will look something like this:

sportsbook2.png

Click on any event that interests you, then click on any outcome you wish to bet on. You are strongly advised to read any rules that may be applicable to that event before making any bet. You should also read whatever limits apply to any betting outcome. For example most events I post have a maximum win limit and a minimum bet limit of $100 or half the maximum bet, (whichever is lower).

In this example the podium result is considered to be final...so any appeal or later amendment to the result will be irrelevant for betting purposes.

sportsbook4.PNG

The amount that shows up initially in the Wager Amount will be the bet minimum, (which would be $37 for this bet). Edit this amount to whatever permissible amount you wish. Here I have edited it to $50. The amount you would win based on your bet amount is shown next to the orange highlight. The bet limits are next to the green highlight. in this example you can only bet between $37 and $75 as I have set the maximum win limit to $30,000. You can also only bet on this outcome once. If you are happy with you bet then click Place Wager. If you are not happy with it then do NOT click on Place Wager. Click on something else, go back a page, log off, or switch off, etc. The software is extremely limited and we don't have the ability to alter or delete a bet.

Good luck with your ROD wagers. Treat the Sportsbook as a bit of fun.

Danny Amendola on Belichick and his time with the Patriots

The WR in this story has been dead to me for a long time now. I haven't spoken or typed his name since he went and played with the cheaters. Glad to hear he had to play for an icehole... and watch that icehole sit one of their best during the Super Bowl just to make a point and lose the game. Ha

That WR wouldn't sniff the field on our Offense.

I believe Tavon has more upside !!

Funny though he is sort of following Wes Walkers career backwards.

Memento's Final 2018 Draft. (HYPE)

Yes. He actually accentuates it on a lot of throws where he lowers his shoulder to pass. He has an over the top motion on a lot of his throws but the ball comes out low on most even with the over the top motion.

That's simply wrong. I've already posted photo and video evidence. I am happy to post more. He has an over-the-top motion with a release point that is generally between his ear and the crown of the helmet. That's a perfectly normal release point.

Please Jrry. You went on and on about how terrible Keenum and Foles were. You and I argued for pages about Keenum as you were arguing that he simply couldn't play QB in the NFL.

And those guys escaped Fisher and proved me wrong. Mannion escaped Fisher and looked like the same bad QB.

Every team's last 10 first round picks

Its kind of funny that all of a sudden we are devaluing the draft. Fact is you could probably make the same claim that only 50% of all FAs and trades work out, even proven talents. Those guys are also typically off your team in 3 years or so, for off field issues, system non fit and most commonly cap casualties.

The draft is the best way to restock your roster with cheaper controllable talent. Also a great way to add depth to your roster.

There is a time and place to trade draft capital and to acquire draft capital. Although, I think a 1st was still too much for Cooks, i like the aggressive approach and hope that we dont trade any more prime draft capital for the couple of years.

I think the Rams are shooting for the Steelers approach more so than the Patriot Way. Being in the Superbowl every year isn't likely to happen in a tough NFC. It's not like the Patriots, where they have one true obstacle to hurdle each year. The Steelers stay good but usually make a real push for the Superbowl every three to five years roughly. It works well in the long term.

So the Rams will sign who they deem most important to their success, and fill in where they need players each year. But, this year the trading makes sense. I don't expect that these moves will be the norm.

Most of those picks that Snead got in the RGIII deal are no longer Rams. Who is left? Brockers? There are just too many moving parts with the cap and free agent contracts.

Rams host OT Tyrell Crosby

I think that Havenstein proved to be a good young NFL Right Tackle for the Rams. I would imagine that of the three starting 2019 UFA's Ram OL'ers that Havenstein would stand the best chance of the three to be retained here after this season. Rams OL needs to be highly talent maintained if Goff is to be successful in the NFL.

Agreed on Havenstein, he's the guy I'd lock up if I were the GM. But I do think they're waiting to see how the draft falls out. If they get a guy they like as a potential for LT, the type who will most likely end up at RT, they might let Havenstein walk and go with Saff or Brown as a signing target. Hard to say, given how it will also come down to what each player is lookin for via their representation as well.

But IMO it would be wise to lock Havenstein up now. He's going to be very well regarded on next offseason's free agent market because I think he'll have a fine season. Dude works hard at his craft, and his size counters some of his leadfootedness. And I know, that's not a word. :D

Michael Brockers says he sustained torn MCL in Rams playoff loss

Not going to lie, freaked out a little when the first thing I saw was "Brockers", "torn", and "CL" in the same sentence for a few seconds. Whew. Should be fine by camp I'd think. MCL aren't super serious injuries at least. Our run defense was definitely complete crap last season when Brockers wasn't in there.
You're right Psycho, it's only serious if there is another injury to the same knee like a ACL or ICL tear also, which most likely would've happened if he had continued playing. Then it would require surgery. As it is a few weeks rest and then adding strengthening exercises for a couple of months and it's as if you'd never got hurt, as the ligament after it's completely healed is as good as before it was torn.

As always, this is my opinion only. But according to webmd.com, this time I'm actually right.

Michael Brockers...afterthought

But going back to the OP - I don't think anyone is thinking of Brockers as an after-though, (well maybe certain media types who just like to talk about the big names) he is a star D-lineman, that just happens to play along side Aaron Donald, which just happens to be a once in a lifetime athlete, now coupled with Suh another elite D-lineman, that triple threat is going to be talked about EVERY single week throughout the season.
